, Description:Field of Invention:
The present embodiment relates to data transfer devices, and more particularly to an inter-USB data transfer device.
Background of Invention:
In recent years, the USB devices have revolutionised data storage. The USB devices such as pen drive, thumb drive, external hard disks etc., have effectively replaced older technologies of data storage such as compact disks and floppy disks. The USB devices provide immediate and effective way of data storage and transfer from one computer to another, or means to temporarily or even permanently store data.
Despite all the advantages of USB devices, inter-USB data transfer hasn’t been explored much. The popular usage requires that the data on a USB device to be first transferred to a computer or other such device and then copied from there to another USB device. Another method is to connect both the USB devices to a computer or other such device and transfer data from them to each other.
Thus, the current popular usage requires use of a computer or laptop or other such devices to enable data transfer between two USB devices. Accordingly, there remains a need to enable data transfer between two or more USB devices without need of a computer or laptop or other such devices.
Summary of Invention:
In an aspect, a device with a plurality of ports to receive USB devices is provided. The device includes a display for each of the ports to allow the data stored in the respective USB devices. The display is a touch-screen display to allow interaction with the data in terms of browsing and moving/transferring the data from a one USB device connected to a one USB port may be transferred to another one or other three USB devices connected to another USB port or other three USB ports by dragging the file from one display to another. The device works without the help of a computing device using its in-built battery and can also be further connected with wire to charge the device and transfer data or wirelessly to a computing device enablingtransfer of data from any of the USB devices connected to the USB ports.
Brief Description of drawings:
The above-mentioned features and other advantages of this present disclosure, and the manner of attaining them, will become more apparent and the present disclosure will be better understood by reference to the following description of embodiments of the present disclosure taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing, wherein:
Fig.1 illustratesaperspective view of an inter-USB data transfer device, according to an embodiment herein.
Fig. 2 illustrates the rear view of the device, according to an embodiment herein.
Detailed description of Invention:
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. Before describing the detailed embodiments that are in accordance with the present disclosure, it should be observed that the embodiment reside primarily in combinations arrangement of the system according to an embodiment herein and as exemplified in FIG. 1
Any embodiment described herein is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over another embodiment. All of the embodiment described in this detailed description are illustrative, and provided to enable persons skilled in the art to make or use the disclosure and not to limit the scope of the disclosure, which is defined by the claims.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the present embodiment without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present embodiment and disclosure cover the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
In the following description, for the purpose of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the arrangement of the system according to an embodiment herein. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art, that the present embodiment can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, structures are shown in block diagram form only in order to avoid obscuring the present invention.
As mentioned, there remains a need for enabling data transfer between two or more USB devices without need of a computer or laptop or other such computing devices, the embodiment herein address this by providing an inter-USB data transfer device 100 as illustrated in Figure 1. The device 100 includes a number of ports 102 to receive or connect withUSB devices. In a preferred embodiment, the device 100 is square or rectangular in shape and has four ports 102a, 102b, 102c and 102d and the device works with an inbuilt replaceable battery that can be charged by connecting it to a computing device through the port 106 as shown in Figure 1. In another embodiment, the device is shaped as oval, spherical, oblong, cubical, cuboidal or in manner of other such geometric shapes. The USB devices may be connected to the device 100 simultaneously.
Each of the USB ports 102 has an interactive touch-screen display 104 of its own that enables the interaction with the data stored in each of the USB devices as connected to the ports 102. The data from one USB device connected to a first USB port 102a may be transferred to either or all of the other USB devices connected to the second 102b, third 102c and fourth 102d USB ports dragging data from a first display 104a to others – 104b, 104c and 104d. In an embodiment, the USB devices are pen drives, thumb drives, external hard disks, mobile phones, music players, iPod, MP3 players and other such mobile and portable devices that can be connected via a USB port.
Figure 2 illutsrates the rear view of the device with the inbuilt replaceable battery 106a and the back cover 106b that houses the battery interior.
