Abstract: The present invention provides an intra-cavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device. The applicator is placed in or around the tumor inside the patient body in operation theatre. After the application the patient shifted to the strature taking for Computed tomography scan where again patient shifted on the CT scan machine couch and after the scan patient shifted to the treatment room on strature. During shifting of the patient the applicator placed into the body also moves which creates the positional variation of the applicator in the body. To make the applicator fix a device requirement is arises therefore this device design can resolve this movement issue in the brachytherapy treatment and increase the accuracy. Figure 1
Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present invention relates to the field of medical science, and more particularly, the present invention relates to the intra-cavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device.
BACKGROUND FOR THE INVENTION:
[002] The following discussion of the background to the invention is intended to facilitate an understanding of the present invention. However, it should be appreciated that the discussion is not an acknowledgment or admission that any of the material referred to was published, known, or part of the common general knowledge in any jurisdiction as of the priority date of the application. The details provided herein the background if belongs to any publication is taken only as a reference for describing the problems, in general terminologies or principles or both of science and technology in the associated prior art.
[003] The problem is observed when the cancer patient treated with the intra-cavitary brachytherapy treatment modality. In this application the applicator moves while shifting the patient from OT to CT scan machine room and then to the machine room for treatment. Therefore this device is helpful in fixing the applicator and delivery of treatment accurately to the tumor. The applicator movement in the patient body during shifting makes the difference between the actual and plan doses to the tumor and normal structures of the patient. The applicator tendom move and increases the bladder and rectum doses which affect the outcome of the treatment.
[004] Therefore, in order to fulfill this requirements, there is a need for the Intracavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device that overcomes problems prevalent in the prior art.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[005] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfies, are as follows.
[006] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art by providing the Intracavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device.
[007] An object of the present invention is to provide the Intra-cavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device that resolves the patient movement issue in the brachytherapy treatment and increase the accuracy.
[008] Another object of the present invention is to provide the Intracavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device, wherein the device is very helpful and reduces the errors in the treatment of cancer patients.
[009] Other objects and advantages of the present disclosure will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[010] The present invention provides Intracavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device.
[011] The design of the device is helpful in making the patient position fix with the applicator device implanted into the tumor in cancer patient. The doses to the normal organs and tumor are same as the doses planned in the treatment planning system for the cancer patient. The treatment delivery accuracy may increase and minimize the error. The applicator is placed in or around the tumor inside the patient body in operation theatre. After the application the patient shifted to the strature taking for Computed tomography scan where again patient shifted on the CT scan machine couch and after the scan patient shifted to the treatment room on strature. During shifting of the patient the applicator placed into the body also moves which creates the positional variation of the applicator in the body. To make the applicator fix a device requirement is arises therefore this device design can resolve this movement issue in the brachytherapy treatment and increase the accuracy.
[012] The device is fixed on the CT scan machine and treatment machine couch to restrict the movement of the applicator position. As far as the movement of the applicator in the patient body is concern, this device is very helpful and reduces the errors in the treatment of cancer patients.

- Base plate: for keep under the patient and immobilization device fixed at one end.
- Rod Stand with fixing base on base plate
- Rod locking knob with angle indicator
- Ring holder rod with digital leveler system
- Ring connector to hold the central tandem
[023] The current invention is very much advantageous in the brachytherapy application in cancer patient treatment as there is no such device available for the above said application purpose.
- It is having an applicator Tendom holder rod
- It is having adjustable knob to make Tendom parallel to couch.
- It is having a base to fix in the couch.
- It is having a indicator for temdom holder rod angle.

, Claims:1) An intracavitary brachytherapy applicator immobilization device, the device comprises:
- an applicator Tendom holder rod;
- an adjustable knob to make Tendom parallel to a couch;
- a base to fix in the couch; and
- an indicator for temdom holder rod angle.
2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device is fixed on the CT scan machine and treatment machine couch to restrict the movement of the applicator position.
3) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device comprises: a rod stand.
4) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device comprises: a ring holder rod with digital leveler system.
5) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device comprises: a connector to hold the central tandem.
