Intrusion Detection System
Abstract: ABSTRACT INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM The present subject matter relates to an intrusion detection system that comprises an optical source configured to emit a light beam on a photodetector to detect the light beam. The optical source is separated by a predefined distance from the photodetector. The intrusion detection system 100 also comprises a beam steering system 120 configured to control the direction of the light beam emitted from the optical source 110-1. The beam steering system 120 comprises an actuator 340 to vary an orientation of the light beam emitted by the optical source 110-1 by a predetermined pitch for aligning the light beam to be incident on the photodetector 130-1 across the predefined distance, and a controller 330 to control the actuator 340. The controller 330 controls the actuator 340 to align the light beam to the photodetector 130-1 at an orientation corresponding to a maximum intensity of the light beam received at the photodetector 130-1.
