Abstract: This invention relates to development ofimproved new coaxial cable F400 used in various systems of military aircraft. There was a urgent need to develop these cables as the lead time to procure RG400u would have affected production. The development was made to the latest military requirement with increased serviceability and durability.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:
There was a need to develop improved cable in house to facilitate production of aircraft as the lead time for procurement of RG400u is more and expensive. The coaxial cable RG400U was used in the various systems of Hawk Aircraft. Hence, it was decided to use the alternate cable F-400 which is manufactured in India on Hawk aircraft. This development of new RF co axial cable F400 not only enhanced our production capability but also made us self reliant.
OBJECTIVE OF INVENTION:
The main objective of the invention is to make improved coaxial cable for production, to avoid production hold up of aircraft and to make us self reliant.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION:
RG400U cable is used in various systems of Hawk Aircraft. The above said cable was not available in stock and thereby it was affecting the production and delivery of Hawk Aircraft. Due to the above problem, it was decided to use alternate coaxial cable. The characteristics of the alternate cable F-400 was studied and it was compared with the original specification of the R&400U cable. It was checked for mil qualification of the alternate coaxial cable i.e type approval of the cable. Then the cable type approval validity was checked and was suggested to use on Hawk Aircraft as an alternate.
TEST CARRIED OUT:
The alternate coaxial cable F-400 was used on the cable assembly and the ground and flight trials carried out and the performance of the cable was found satisfactory by confirming the functionality of the related systems.
CLAIM:
We claim
The cable part number F-400 is proved as an improved cable in place of RG400U coaxial cable and thus the bottle necks during aircraft production was avoided.
