Abstract: This invention relates to the development of new Centralized Warning System Test Set for Hawk Aircraft. The CWSTS is a metal box with a cover, below the cover is a front panel which consists switches, lamps and connectors necessary to test the Centralized Warning System of Hawk Aircraft. Below the front panel is the chassis wiring assembly. The front panel and chassis wiring assembly are attached to the case assembly. The chassis wiring assembly contains the internal wires, connections and electrical components necessary to test the CWS. The two stowage bags are used to hold the cable harness assemblies. Each cable harness connects the test set to an applicable part of the CWS. Attached to the middle of each cable harness is a label which identifies the cable harness by its number. Each end of a cable harness is identified by a label, this label shows where it is to be connected when used for testing. The specifications were prepared in accordance with the requirement of Hawk Aircraft. The Centralized Warning System Test Set was designed & developed and .manufactured in coordination with M/s Electrolinks Technologies Pvt ■ Ltd, Bangalore. The indigenous CWSTS had undergone all the stringent qualification testing as recommended by the certification agency and met all the specification and qualification requirements.
The following specification particularly describes the strategy of invention and the manner in which it is to be performed. BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:
Centralized warning test set is used for testing the indications and voice alerts generated by various systems in Hawk military aircraft. The aircraft can be cleared for flight or engine ground run after carrying out the CWP tests on Hawk military aircraft. The tester is designed and developed to reduce the repair/calibration cycle time of the tester and to fulfil 'Make in India 'initiative.Requirement of additional no of tester by user also warrented to develop the tester. OBJECTIVE OF INVENTION:
The main ■objective of the invention is to meet the requirement of CWP testers from user and to reduce the cycle time for calibration/repair.This development envisages adequate foreign exchange savings. DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION:
The centralized warning test set is designed and developed to test the centralized warning system of Hawk aircraft. The test set can be used to test the CWS with or without the CWS related circuits. (Attention getters and lighting circuits). The CWSTS consists of a metal box with a cover, below the cover is a front panel which consists switches, lamps and connectors necessary to test the Centralized Warning System of Hawk Aircraft. Below the front panel is the chassis- wiring assembly. The front panel and chassis wiring assembly are attached to the case assembly. The chassis wiring assembly contains the internal wires, connections and electrical components necessary to test the CWS.
The two stowage bags are used to hold the eight cable harness assemblies. Each cable harness connects the test set to
an applicable, part of the CWS. Attached to the middle of each cable harness is a label which identifies the cable harness by its number. Each end of a cable harness is identified by a label, this label shows where it is to be connected when used for testing.
The test set is also used, off the aircraft, to test the master control unit together with the central warning panel. The warning panel can be tested independently. The power supply for the test set is obtained from the aircraft power supply. General view of the CWS test set is shown in below fig. .
TEST CARRIED OUT:
The indigenous Centralized Warning System Test Set was subjected to the following environmental and functional tests.
1. Vibration Test
2. High Temperature Test
3. Low Temperature Test
4. Humidity Test
5. Bump Test
6. Toppling Test
7. Salt Corrosion Test
After above qualification testing,Performance of the centralised warning tester on Hawk military aircraft found satisfactory.
CLAIMS:
L. The Technology base of our country increased and future obsolescence issue of original unit is eliminated.
2. Self-reliance and sufficient foreign exchange saving are achieved.
3. Servicing cycle time is reduced.
