Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT BASED DEVICE FOR TREKKERS. The wrist worn apparatus includes locating the path of trekkers using an GPS module and accelerometer to track the movements and share real time positional,weather conditions,offline mapping and health conditions information with their group to store the data and transmit the data to the cloud through control room. A monitoring, guide and emergency communications system including a wrist worn apparatus carried by a person. A system for exchanging GPS or position data between devices for purposes of group activities, the device has features such as digital compasses altimeters, barometers to provide user with additional information about their environment, for providing regular weather conditions, for minimizing emergency response time without withstanding the monitored person's conscious state and including an array of sensors for periodically sensing vital health conditions of the monitored person, an alarm system to alert or convey a desired message, a memory for storing and comparing the sensed parameters to the control authority, and a programmable logic controller for automatically responding to the user. the use of these devices can increase the safety and enjoyment of trekking as well as provide valuable data for trip planning and analysis. Overall the functions of wrist-worn navigation devices maker them a valuable tool for any trekker seeking to explore the outdoors with confidence.

US8798645B2: A system for exchanging GPS or other position data between devices for purposes of group activities, child location monitoring, work group coordination, dispatching of employees etc. Cell phones and other wireless devices with GPS receivers have loaded therein a Buddy Watch application that communicates with a remote Buddy Watch Server. The server gets or maintains position data for the wireless devices. When the server receives a request from a first device to set up a position-sharing relationship between it and a second device, the server calculates a path between the devices and transmits the path to each device. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Figure 1: Proposed architecture, the present invention (Figure 1) is embodied in a personal monitoring and emergency communications system that includes a plurality of sensor devices, measuring components into a wrist worn device powered by a battery. These wearable devices are connected with the control room with long range RF module. Further this control room is connected with the cloud server to enable remote monitoring and data management. The connection can be established through a wireless communication protocol such as Wi-Fi. The control room can be equipped with software tools that enable real time monitoring of various parameters such as trekker’s location, health status and environmental conditions. The cloud server can be used to store and manage the data generated by the wrist worn apparatus, which can be accessed by authorized personnel for the further analysis and reporting. This can lead to better planning and preparation of trekking expedition, and to improve safety and well being for trekkers for the future in challenging environment.
Figure 2: Wearable device, a group of friends or family going to trek on the mountains wear this apparatus and share a code with each other so that they can connect with each other and share their location and other desired information to each other during the trek as and when they want to start their trek they can download offline maps of the trails they want to follow. In case they want to access trails during the journey they can communicate with the control room and ask for desired help.The figures depict embodiments of the present subject matter for the purposes of illustration only. A person skilled in the art will easily recognize from the following description that alternative embodiments of the structures and methods illustrated herein may be employed without departing from the principles of the disclosure described herein.

ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION:
Sharing positional data with friends during trekking increases safety, facilitate better communication among the trekking group, creates the sense of accountability for everyone.
Health monitoring device ensures the safety and well being of the trekker and in case of an emergency it can provide critical information to the rescue team to help them determine the appropriate medical response.
Weather alerts can provide early warning of changing weather condition, giving trekkers time to prepare and adjust their plan accordingly.
The information from the trekkers devices can be used by the control room to optimize the trek and make adjustments to improve performance and safety for future treks.
