, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to physically disabled persons. The present invention more particularly to an IOT based system for person with physical disability.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Smart home concept came to practice in 20th century. Smart home is adopted for reason of ease, security and energy efficiency. Smart home system refers to use of computer and information technology to control home appliances. Smart home may include centralized control of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), lighting, appliances, security locks for doors and gates and other systems to provide energy efficiency, convenience, comfort and security. Smart home for the elderly, physically handicapped and disabled can provide increased quality of life for persons who might otherwise require institutional care or caregivers. Smart home systems are gaining importance in recent years due to affordability and simplicity through smart phone and tablet connectivity. The concept of the “internet of things” has tied in closely with the popularization of home automation. Electrical devices may be connected through home network to control by a PC and may allow remote control from the internet. Smart home system is very useful for elder people who are very important segment of life. Person with disability require assistance to do their daily routines, therefore nurses are employed to assist them. But middle aged people prefer to live independently and self-managing in their own home which gives the feeling of independence.
In the past years health monitoring is difficult for doctors and family members to provide quality of services, patient is totally dependent on the caregivers to do small jobs. Healthcare IoT can boost patient engagement, satisfaction by allowing the patients to spend more time to interacting with their doctors. The application has potential to not only keep patients safe and healthy, but to improve patients care as well. Another major issue with the previous methodologies is the inefficiency of giving proper treatment during the right time, unavailability of doctors. Home Automation provides the patient liberty to be independent. Messaging system helps to understand the needs of the patient properly, provides a high level of satisfaction to the patient.
So there is a need for a system an IOT based system for person with physical disability which can remotely monitors, controls and health care capability decreases the cost of personal aid assistance at home. Smart home system can also be used to monitor environment to ensure safety and alert people when there is likely to be a dangerous situation, as for example, the elderly persons or people who have Alzheimer disease may forget switching off gas oven after cooking in kitchen and deaf people cannot hear the doorbell. Using such a system reduces the risks mentioned above.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to provide an IOT based system for person with physical disability.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a remotely monitoring system which controls and health care capability decreases the cost of personal aid assistance at home.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system to monitor environment to ensure safety and alert people when there is likely to be a dangerous situation.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, an IOT based system for person with physical disability is disclosed. The present invention remotely monitors, controls and health care capability decreases the cost of personal aid assistance at home. An IOT based system for person with physical disability comprising of; Sensors for sending signals to microcontroller; converting the sensors signal into digital value which is controlled by Microcontroller; and sending text messages to the doctor, caregiver and family member.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
Fig 1 is the flowchart for the an IOT based system for person with physical disability.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH RESPECT TO DRAWINGS:
The present invention is an IOT based system for person with physical disability. The present invention provides a remotely monitoring system which controls and health care capability decreases the cost of personal aid assistance at home. The present invention also provides a system to monitor environment to ensure safety and alert people when there is likely to be a dangerous situation. The present invention is an efficient and automated system.
In one embodiment, the system of the present invention comprising of;sensors, processor, Bluetooth, speaker, relays and GSM are connected over an internet. Digital convertor is the way to convert the sensors signal into digital value which is controlled by Microcontroller. Patient on reaching the Higher Limit (HL) or Lower Limit (LL) sends alerts to all the mobile numbers entered over the network. The system of the present invention is provided to the patient and text messages are sent to the doctor, caregiver and family member. Heart Beat Sensor, Temperature Sensor, LCD are connected to the ARM Processor pins .
The boards are placed near the patient with an android phone with heart beat and temperature sensor attached to the patient. Patient uses the android application to send the SMS through voice or touch on buttons. Temperature and Heartbeat are automatically sensed by sensors. The Patient can press start to enter the application. The above Figure shows the Main page of the application. When connected with Bluetooth the temperature and heartbeat values are displayed, on reaching the threshold values an SMS is sent to the doctor and caregiver’s mobiles. The patient can use buttons Need Help and Emergency to send SMS on the mobile numbers entered. Patient can select SMS to send more SMS using buttons or Start Voice to send voice commands. Patient can operate fan and bulb using buttons or voice after pressing Start Voice button.
The SMS triggers page where the patient can send SMS to the care givers by pressing buttons he can express his feelings to the caregivers and help them to get served properly and when needed. The voice commands page is also shown where the patient can send SMS to the care givers through voice commands and operate the appliances bulb and fan using voice commands.
The bulb and fan are switched on by the patient using voice commands or buttons. The application helps the patient to operate appliances independently, help the doctor and caregivers to provide proper attention to the patient. Caregiver can understand the patient properly in his daily routines with the messages. The results were compared with previous applications which works separately on home automation, health care system and voice. An integrated system works well with reliable results as ARM processor is used instead of microcontroller and capable of sending multiple SMS at a time without any delay. The system of the present invention makes it easy to the patient to make ease of use having many options on finger tips. The system of the present invention can help in improving the life style of everyone. The system of the present invention can be the greatest help to physically disabled people. The system improves the facilities for supporting the patient using IoT technology that not only realizes the needs, but may help in health care services. The system of the present invention enhances the selfdependency on themself which makes them satisfied by improving their capability of doing things.
The system of the present invention can send alerts to all the mobile numbers to patient on reaching the Higher Limit (HL) or Lower Limit (LL) can send alerts to all the mobile numbers entered over the network. The present invention is used to send the SMS through voice or touch on buttons. This system is tested by sending SMS to caregivers who is at remote location. This application not only promotes healthy relationship between the patient and caregiver but also increases the zest for life.
In another embodiment, the system of the present invention reads the sensor data, it compares it with the preset threshold value. If the value is greater/lower than the threshold value then the user is alerted and the actuation carried out. At the same time, the controller also waits and receives the user commands to activate and actuate the system as per the user command like turning on and off of the electrical appliances. When the user wants to check the status of the house, user have to initially enter the IP address which is assigned to the board. Then a window ask for a password to enter the monitoring system. If the entered password is correct then a window shows the status of the house and a list of devices. Then the user have to select the device if he wants to change the status of the device. Then the command is sent from the end user device to controller through the internet. Then command is executed at the controller.
Using this type of system, end users can monitor home remotely through mobile, I-Pod, Tablets, computers and other devices which have internet connectivity. Users can be aware of their home Status/condition and can take care of disabled persons from anywhere and at any time.
In another embodiment, An IOT based system for person with physical disability comprising of; Sensors for sending signals to microcontroller; converting the sensors signal into digital value which is controlled by Microcontroller; and sending text messages to the doctor, caregiver and family member.
