Abstract: The invention relates to a jumper wire (6-A, 6-B, 6-C) for connecting an electrical cable (100-A, 100-B, 100-C) to a test device (2) with a view to diagnosing the state of health of the electrical cable (100-A, 100-B, 100-C), said jumper wire (6-A, 6-B, 6-C) comprising: an output port (7) configured to interact with an input port (3) of the test device (2), an input connector (8-A, 8-B, 8-C) configured to interact with a connector (110-A, 110-B, 110-C) of the electrical cable (100-A, 100-B, 100-C), and a data-storing element (9-A, 9-B, 9-C) that contains predetermined test data on the electrical cable (100-A, 100-B, 100-C) and that is electrically connected to the output port (7) by at least one data-transmitting wire (12), said data-storing element (9- A, 9-B, 9-C) being configured to deliver the test data to the test device (2).
