Key Reminder System For Automobiles.

Abstract: KEY REMINDER SYSTEM FOR AUTOMOBILES ABSTRACT This invention is an alert system for reminding the operator about the key which he forgets in the key slot. Based on the use of microcontroller with buzzer & to operate it there are a push button switches and Two-way switch. When the driver forget the key into the lock, the push button signals the buzzer to make sound thereby taking out the key from lock. When the buzzer remains ON for a longer time, which is due to any problem with the switches or circuit, the microcontroller senses and signals the normally closed relay to normally open position, further cutting the supply current to the buzzer. This also saves it from damage & also the battery from getting discharged. Also by using Two-way switch, when the key is turned to ignition or power mode for accessories, the supply to the buzzer & microcontroller is by- passed to the engine & accessories. Hence stopping the buzzer from making sound. Main aim of developing such a system is to make it safer against theft of the vehicle or machine. And most importantly make it more economical by using the least electronic components, so that it can be installed for most of the mechanical devices or machines with lock and key arrangement.

FIELD OF INVENTION
The invention leads to the field of Mechanical, Automobile, Electronics & Electrical Engineering. It is associated with the day to day life of humankind. Particularly this invention is an alert system, designed to remind of the key which is forgotten mistakenly in any of the key slots by the driver while leaving the vehicle. If the key is left unexpectedly, the buzzer in the circuit makes sound & reminds the driver to take it out.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Sometimes, the key is left unknowingly in the key slots such as that of Ignition key slots, doors & dickey key slots of vehicles. Hence due to such mistakes there are chances of theft of the vehicle. Therefore by designing a key reminder circuit, it will remind the driver to take out the key & keep it safely.
Accordingly to prior work it is observed that, the vehicles ranging from low cost to a higher cost are not provided with this kind of simple and economical circuit arrangement to remind that, the key is left in the slot, especially for bikes & scooters.
PRIOR ART
There have been a various types of electronic and electrical circuits earlier for the same application but use of least components as in here reduce the complexity and cost. It is observed that there is a need to make the feature of key reminder available to all the vehicles, ranging from a very low cost to a higher cost, to make it more economical keeping in mind the different economical conditions of the world where people prefer safety at a cheaper price and also there are chances of happening of theft.
OBJECTIVES OF INVENTION
The objective of the invention is to provide a reliable and cost efficient system for key reminder in vehicles. Yet another object of the system is that, the circuit is equipped with a microcontroller, responsible for switching OFF the power supply to the buzzer if there is any problem in future with the mechanical contact of switches due to rust or misalignment due to vibrations between contact parts.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided system for vehicle safety from theft and misplacing of key by reminding the driver by a buzzer sound. Also the system consists of a safety measures to protect the components in the circuit in case there is a failure in the switches or contacts.
The system comprises of Buzzer, Microcontroller, Normally Closed type Relay switch, Push button switches, and Two-way switch

TERMINOLOGY
Battery: Source of electric power to run the circuit.
Push Button Switches: Device for making and breaking the connection in an electric circuit.
Two-Way Switch: Device for shifting of the power source to two different devices as per requirement.
Buzzer: An electrical device that makes buzzing noise and is use for signaling.
Microcontroller: A computer present in single Integrated Circuit dedicated to perform one task and execute one specific application.
N/C Relay Switch: An electromagnetic switch operated by relatively small electric current that can turn OFF a much larger current.
Engine: Device responsible for driving the vehicle.
Resistor: Component that regulates or limits the flow of electric current

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention will now described in relation to the accompanying drawing in which Figure-1 illustrate a system used to remind of the key left in the key-slot by the driver. The system is powered by an electric Battery (1). One Terminal of Battery is connected to the Push button switch (2) followed by a Two-way switch (4). In this case when the key is inserted into the ignition key slot (12), the key presses the push button switch (2). It is further connected to the Two-way switch (4), this Two-way switch(4) is at Position-1, the electric current is passed on further to the Microcontroller^), followed by a N/C closed Relay switch (7), and then the Buzzer (5).
As soon as the key is inserted in the ignition key slot (12), due to pressing of Push Button switch (2) by the key the circuit is completed and buzzer (5) sounds. When the driver turns the key into ignition or accessories mode i.e. Position-2, the Push Button (2) is still into operation, but the Two-way switch (4) which is arranged just below the Push Button switch (2), shifts to position-2. This cuts the supply to the Buzzer (5) stopping it from making sound. Whereas, the current is supplied to different electronic components in the vehicle and the Engine (8). When the operator again turns the key to position-1 and switches OFF the Engine (8) the circuit is completed again and Buzzer (5) makes sound.
In case there is a failure in the said switches and are stuck at one position due to unavoidable reasons, and the Buzzer (5) is continuously sounding. Then the Microcontroller (6) does the work. It is programmed for a desired time interval. When a particular time crosses say for e.g.: 3 minutes, then the Microcontroller^) immediately gives an electric signal from its port pin to the N/C Relay switch(7), this electric signal shifts the N/C Relay(7) to normally open position, further avoiding the current to pass and hence stops the Buzzer(5) from sounding and avoids damaging of Battery(l) and other components.
In case if the person forgets the key into the door or dickey key lock (13), generally in scooter. The Push Button(3) does the work for such condition and the circuit is powered by same Battery(l) and the current passes through the Resistor(9), Microcontroller^), N/C Relay switch(7) and Buzzer(5) respectively. It works in similar manner as in earlier case.

CLAIMS
I claim that:-
1. The designed system is basically an alert system for a vehicle which can remind the
operator from leaving the key mistakenly in the key slot & thereby avoiding the
chances of theft of the vehicle. Said system comprising of:-
A buzzer to indicate the operator about the key, left mistakenly in the key slot of the system.
