In the following detailed description, numeric values and ranges are provided for various aspects of the implementations described. These values and ranges are to be treated as examples only and are not intended to limit the scope of the claims. In addition, several materials are identified as suitable for various facets of the implementations.
[0030] The present invention relates to the field of lighting fixtures, specifically to a moving chandelier that creates the illusion of a fish swimming in water. The chandelier's dynamic motion and translucent light-diffusing wings contribute to an immersive and visually captivating lighting experience.
[0031] The kinetic chandelier includes a central body, multiple wings constructed from translucent material with light-diffusing properties, an integrated light source within each wing, a sinuous flipping mechanism connecting the wings to the central body, allowing coordinated up and down motion of the wings, and a motor-driven rotating shaft that imparts rotational motion to the flipping mechanism, thereby creating the illusion of a fish swimming in water.
[0032] According to an aspect, the translucent material of the wings allows light from the integrated light sources to pass through, creating a soft and diffused illumination. The sinuous flipping mechanism comprises a series of connecting rods attached to the wings and a rotating disk system on the central body, enabling synchronized movement of the wings.
[0033] According to an aspect, the integrated light sources within the wings enhance the overall lighting ambiance of the space, eliminating the need for separate light bulbs or candles. The arrangement of the wings in a sinuous pattern resembles a moving sinusoidal wave, further enhancing the fish-like illusion and artistic appeal of the chandelier.
[0034] According to an aspect, the method of creating a visually captivating lighting experience includes providing a kinetic chandelier comprising a central body, multiple wings with translucent light-diffusing properties, integrated light sources within the wings, a sinuous flipping mechanism, and a motor-driven rotating shaft, activating the motor-driven rotating shaft to generate rotational motion, transmitting the rotational motion to the sinuous flipping mechanism, resulting in coordinated up and down motion of the wings, and diffusing light from the integrated light sources through the translucent wings, creating an immersive and visually captivating lighting ambiance.
[0035] According to an aspect, the coordinated up and down motion of the wings simulates the graceful swimming of a fish, providing a captivating visual illusion. The soft and diffused illumination created by the light-diffusing properties of the translucent wings enhances the overall lighting ambiance of the space. The sinuous flipping mechanism utilizes connecting rods and a rotating disk system to achieve synchronized movement of the wings. The kinetic chandelier transforms any space into a mesmerizing underwater-like environment, creating an immersive and visually captivating experience.
[0036] The disclosed invention is a chandelier that deviates from conventional static fixtures by introducing dynamic motion to emulate the graceful movement of a swimming fish. The chandelier comprises multiple wings, each constructed from translucent material capable of diffusing light, enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and the ambient lighting.
[0037] The central body of the chandelier plays a crucial role in facilitating the movement of the wings. It consists of a specially designed rod that converts rotary motion into reciprocating motion. This rod is equipped with round disks, which are strategically positioned along its length. The round disks serve as connection points for the wings and connecting rods.
[0038] The connecting rods are responsible for transferring the reciprocating motion generated by the central rod to the individual wings. The connecting rods are connected to the round disks on one end and to the wings on the other end, providing a mechanical linkage that allows the wings to move up and down.
[0039] The arrangement of the wings follows a sinuous pattern, resembling a moving sinusoidal wave. By coordinating the synchronized movement of all wings, the chandelier achieves a harmonious fish-like motion. As the central rod rotates and generates a reciprocating motion, it imparts corresponding up and down movement to the connecting rods, which in turn causes the wings to move up and down in a coordinated manner.
[0040] Each wing is equipped with an inbuilt light source, ensuring that the diffused light enhances the overall ambiance of the space. The translucent material of the wings allows the light to pass through, resulting in an ethereal glow that further accentuates the fish-like illusion.
[0041] The described invention is a unique and decorative chandelier that incorporates a rotating shaft, multiple disks, connecting rods, and light- diffusing rods called wings. The purpose of this invention is to create an ambiance in space by simulating the motion of a creature swimming in water.
[0042] At the core of the chandelier is a motor that drives the rotation of a shaft. The shaft is responsible for transferring rotational motion to the various components of the chandelier. Attached to the shaft are multiple disks, evenly spaced along its length. These disks play a crucial role in converting the rotational motion into reciprocating motion.
[0043] Connected to each disk is a connecting rod. The connecting rods are positioned at a specific distance from the center of the disk, ensuring that the rotating movement of the disk can be transformed into a reciprocating motion. One end of each connecting rod is attached to the rotating disk, while the other end is connected to a light-diffusing rod, which is referred to as a wing.
[0044] Each wing is equipped with an inbuilt light source, such as LEDs, which enhances the overall ambiance of the space. The wings are made of a translucent material that allows the light to pass through, creating a soft and diffused illumination. When the inbuilt LEDs in the core of the wing glow, the entire wing emits light, adding to the visual appeal of the chandelier.
[0045] The arrangement of the angles at which the connecting rods are attached to the rotating disks is carefully designed. This arrangement ensures that when the shaft rotates, all the wings possess up and down motions, resembling the movement of a creature swimming in water. The illusion of swimming creatures is achieved due to the different angles and timings of the wings’ motion, creating a visually captivating effect.
[0046] To further enhance the aesthetic appeal, additional components are attached to the chandelier’s body, giving it the shape of a creature. These components can be artistic representations of fins, tails, or other elements that contribute to the overall design theme.
[0047] While the foregoing describes various embodiments of the invention, other and further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof. The scope of the invention is determined by the claims that follow. The invention is not limited to the described embodiments, versions or examples, which are included to enable a person having ordinary skill in the art to make and use the invention when combined with information and knowledge available to the person having ordinary skill in the art.
[0048] Thus, the scope of the present disclosure is defined by the appended claims and includes both combinations and sub-combinations of the various features described hereinabove as well as variations and modifications thereof, which would occur to persons skilled in the art upon reading the foregoing description.
