Krishna Mix Ladoo

Abstract: The present invention is providing high calorie, high protein, and a good source of calcium and iron in a single dietary supplement composition of different nutrients. Soyabean and ragi are very nutritious but not commonly consumed. This ladoo is made by roasting the powdered ingredients in ground nut oil and adding jaggery to it. Being a tasty preparation it is acceptable to the babies. Roasting improves keeping quality & digestibility. It can be given as routine weaning food, for malnourished children to improve nutritional status, for babies with lactose intolerance and any person recovering from acute or chronic illness.

5. TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to nutrition in particular to dietary supplements for infants and toddlers, compositions and methods of administering the supplements.
6. BACKGROUND
Various types of readymade powders are available for complementary as well as supplementary feeding, but they are very costly. Most of them are to be prepared in milk which is available at prohibitive cost. Mothers from lower socioeconomic status are very often illiterate and cannot read the instructions and prepare the recipe for the baby.
The there is a need for solutions to the above problems.
7. SUMMARY
A primary objective of the present invention is to provide high calorie, high protein, and a good source of calcium and iron in a single dietary supplement composition of different nutrients' for weaning, as a supplement to undernourished children and for feeding the babies with lactose intolerance.
A secondary objective of the present invention is to provide a single dietary supplement composition that will be in solid form with good keeping quality so that the supplement can be a 'take home supplement' for the baby for a week or so. A week's supply can be given to the mother who can feed the baby on these Krishna Mix Ladooes daily for the entire period of one week.

The ingredients includes soyabin powder, ragi powder, channa dal, ground nut, jaggery and ground nut oil. Cardamum is added for taste. The composition is given in the following table.

APPLICATIONS : -
1) The Krishna Mix Ladoo can be given during convalescence to any person recovering from acute or chronic illness.
2) The Krishna Mix Ladoo can be given as a routine weaning food to a baby after the age of 4 months.
3) The Krishna Mix Ladoo can be given as a dietary supplement for improvement of nutrient intake to children with protein energy malnutrition.
4) The Krishna Mix Ladoo does not contain milk or milk products hence can be given to babies with lactose intolerance.
