THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to electrical components. More particularly, the invention relates to a cover assembly for label of electrical components such as circuit breakers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Electrical components such as switchgears or modular devices are known to have indicator labels for helping in identification of their function and/or date of installation or other data or information useful for an operator in identifying the electrical component or its features/functionality.
Over a period of time, several cover assemblies have been created for enabling identification ease. In general, the existing covers close a seat of the cover assembly so as to retain a label (usually a paper one) having the relevant data written thereon.
The existing covers are movable from an open position in which the label can be inserted or extracted from the cover assembly, to a closed position, in which the label is retained inside the cover assembly. The data on the label can be read through the cover, which, to this extent, is made in transparent material. The insertion or extraction of the label is effected via an access area which enables the operator the insertion/extraction of the label from the seat.
One of the known categories of the cover assembly is shown in Fig. 1A and Fig. 1B provides an assembly in which the access area does not face the handle of the electrical component.
Another known category of the cover assembly is shown in Fig. 1C and Fig. 1D provides an assembly in which the access area faces the handle of the electrical component.
In prior art Fig. 1A, 1B and 1C the cover is simply hinged to the assembly (part of the casing) so as to perform only a rotational or translational movement between an open and a closed position.
In prior art Fig. 1D the cover moves from the open to the closed position by two different actions, a first sliding action of the cover in which a lateral tooth is disengaged and a second action in which the cover is rotated and for the label is accessible.
In both the categories of the cover assemblies a common problem arises when the handle is rotated towards the over.
In the cover assemblies of the Fig. 1A and Fig. 1B, driving of the cover from the closed to the opened position is not possible, since the handle may interfere with the cover (Fig. 1B) or the cover cannot be simply handled for achieving its opening (Fig. 1A).
In the cover assemblies of Fig. 1C and Fig 1D, even if the correct cover handling is enabled, the handle may hinder the insertion or extraction of the label.
It is therefore required to devise an assembly that overcomes the problems associated with the prior arts.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, the present invention provides a cover assembly for an electrical component, the assembly comprising a cover for holding a label, the cover having guiding frames at opposite edges; a seat on a housing of the circuit breaker, the seat
having pins on opposite sides, the pins engaging with the guiding frames of the cover.
The assembly provides easy insertion and extraction of label.

Hereinafter, the embodiments shall be explained with circuit breaker as an example for the electrical components
Fig 2 shows a cover assembly 210 for a circuit breaker 200 in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
Cover assembly 210 includes a cover 220 and a cover seat 240. Cover 220 has guiding frames 230 (230a, 230b) at opposite edges. Cover 220 holds a label (not shown as label is well known in the art). Cover seat 240 is adapted on a housing (not shown) of circuit breaker 200. Cover seat 240 has pins 250 (250a, 250b) on opposite sides. Pins 250a of seat 240 engages with guiding frame 230a of cover 220 and pin 250b of seat 240 engages with guiding frame 230b of cover 220.
Fig. 3 shows frame 230a. Frame 230a has an elongated central portion 332 and a pair of rounded portions 331 (331a, 331b) at ends of central portion 332. Frame 230a has cam 335a between elongated central portion 332 and rounded portion 331a. Frame 230a has cam 335b between elongated central portion 332 and rounded portion 331 b. Frame 230b is identical to frame 230a.
In an embodiment, rounded portions 331 of frames 230 have a diameter substantially equal to a width of elongated central portion 332.
In an embodiment, guiding frame 230 accommodates for a rotational movement of cover 220 as shown in Fig. 4a. The rotational movement of cover 220 enabled by rounded portion 331a and cam 335a of frames 230 (230a, 230b).
In an embodiment, guiding frame 230 accommodates for a sliding movement of cover 220 as shown in Fig. 4b. The sliding movement of cover 220 enabled at elongated central portion 332 when cover 220 is in a substantially vertical position with reference to positions shown in drawings.
In an embodiment, assembly 210 is mounted on a casing of circuit breaker 200.
In an embodiment, cover seat 240 is an integral part of the housing (not shown).
In an embodiment, cover 220 is of transparent material.
In an alternate embodiment, cover 220 is of translucent material.
Different positions of cover 220 will now be described with respect to Fig. 4. The positions are an open position, a closed position and an intermediate position between the open position and the closed position.
