Specification

Claims:We Claim:
1) The language translation system using augmented reality technology comprising of;
a. high definition smart phone;
b. application of language translation installed on smart phone;
c. tourist/user has to capture image of text which user want to translate;
d. application translate native language text to selected language; and
e. user can see translated text on screen of smart phone.
2) The system claimed in claim 1 wherein, the real time language translation can receive within a second, it is time saving.
, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to the field of computer graphics, and more specifically, to a method and system for real time language translation system using augmented reality technology.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Tourist and other travels frequently visit many countries where they do not speak the local language. This can arise challenges to tourist including not being able to read and understand signs, schedules, labels, menus and other information via a text display. Until now, tourist rely on electronic or printed phrase book and translation dictionaries to help them comprehend text displayed in a foreign language.
Due to smart phone use in day to day life, language translation become more powerful but there is one drawback of this phone. The main drawback is, it required internet connection. Because cellular data coverage may not be available in all areas. And if it is available then also roaming charges may make use of date network so costly.
The present invention suggests the solution to above problems. It suggests the real time language translation system using augmented reality technology.
Augmented reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that takes the capabilities of computer-generated display, sound, text and effects to enhance the user's real-world experience.
It is very useful for tourist. In the countries where language is issue, tourist can travel easy with this application.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, language translation system using augmented reality technology.
Another object of the invention is, smart phone with high definition is required.
Another object of the invention is, application is installed to the high definition smart phone.
Other object of the invention is, real time translation which is time saver.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the language translation system using augmented reality technology. The system and method comprising of:
The application should install at high definition smart phone. For language translation, just open the application from smart phone. Then aim the camera of smart phone to the text whose translation is required. Capture the image and just press button translate. The application starts to search language pattern for matching to captured image text. As the match is found it would convert the captured image text into the tourist native language. The outputted language text now would be seen on tourist/user ‘s smart phone.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the language translation system using augmented reality technology.
The present invention system is comprising of contents such as;
Any high definition smart phone
An application of language translation
The present invention implemented in a combination of both hardware and software.
The present invention system is comprising of;
Step 1) The high definition smart phone has installed the application of language translation
Step 2) The tourist/user open the application of language translation
Step 3) Select the language the user understands well from the list of languages
Step 4) Aim the text which should be translated in his choice of language
Step 5) Press the button ‘Translate’
Step 6) As the ‘Translate’ button click, the backend process starts
Step 7) The language pattern of captured image text is searching in database of application
Step 8) When match is found, application translate the captured image text to users selected language
Step 9) The resulted text is shown to user screen
This is general overview of system. System is not bounded to this only.
While travelling in another country, communication is the main gateway to know that country. But sometimes language may create problems. Some native languages are difficult to understand. And it may happen for particular area of country that language is only way of communication. Tour guide or translator may help in this. But it is not convenient to have them in each and every time.
The present invention helpful for this scenario.
Here by using this invention tourist can understand what actually written in signs, shops nameplate signals. It is actually very helpful in some urgency condition like way to hospital or way to any bank or any government office.
The example of this system, is if any tourist goes to some place which has no commonly used language. That tourist wants to eat something, go to hotel. Menu card is there, but he wouldn’t understand what is actually contains in menu card.
With this system, he just starts the application select for language. Capture the image of menu card and press button ‘Translate’. Within few seconds user can know what actually written on menu card and can order food happily.
Same case could be arisen for hospital. Suppose tourist want to go hospital but don’t understand what actually called ‘hospital’ in native language, he would just be roaming here and there. But with this invention by clicking image of nameplate of building he could understand the which building is hospital.
Augmented reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that takes the capabilities of computer-generated display, sound, text and effects to enhance the user's real-world experience.
In market some products related to augmented reality technology is available. These products are used to capture image and giving all data regarding target area. With the augmented reality view of that particular target area, all the information is seen on screen of user/farmer.
