, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
This invention relates to a combination of leak-proof pail/container and lid. More specifically the present invention is directed a lid – container combination for secured and easy lidding of the pail by said lid including enabling anti-delidding lock between the pail and the lid and preventing any deformation during pack drop down or in case of pack upside down under load of content for a secured tamper evident locking.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Combinations Molded plastic container and press fitted lid thereof are extremely popular for use in shipping, storing and marketing a variety of products ranging from lubricants and paints to food products, at both individual consumer and bulk quantities. It is known to provide container-lid with their mutual locking combinations and tamper-evident characteristics through one or more of an assortment of locking structures including those which are partially or fully disabled by way of tear strips or tear bands.
The typical tear band is in provided in the lid with atleast one locking structure and a tear line which allows a portion of the outside peripheral skirt of the lid to be manually torn away fully or partially remove or disable the locking structure. The removal of the tear band provides visual evidence that the lid has been manipulated for removal purposes. After the removal of the tear band, the lid may be completely detached from the container and either discarded or reused.
Various lid and containers or pails combination have been described in the prior art. Some of them are presented below as examples.
US7475788 discloses a molded plastic container and closure combination where the closure has removable tear band. This invention provides a closure which is readily manually altered by the removal of a tear band for opening but provides for easy and secure closing and reopening after removal of the tear band. Further features include a structure which enhances the stackability by transferring stacking loads through the closure structure to the container sidewall.
US7090088 discloses a combination of a molded plastic bucket and a tamper-evident closure with a zig-zag tear strip which permits the removal of a portion of the lowermost closure flange. The wedging and locking functions associated with the design of the edge or skirt of the closure provide an improved and more permanent seal of the closure to the bucket. Such a feature provides multiple buckets each of which is closed by a closure that enables easy stacking.
US8342354 discloses a molded plastic container with a "snap-ring" which acts as a transition structure between the container and the closure. An inverted u-shaped slot in the snap rig fits to the top edge of the container to transfer vertical stacking loads from the closure or ring to the container sidewall.
US6845877 discloses a plastic container with a snap closure and a snap element. The invention fulfills the special demands imposed on leak-profaneness, while simultaneously providing high load-bearing capacity.
US7740149 discloses apparatus and methods related to containers having a sidewall portion with vertical corrugation therein. The containers can be of a variety of shapes, sizes, cross- sections, and materials. The corrugation improves the container sidewall strength and resistance to buckling under compressive loads such as stacking of multiple containers.
US3567016 discloses a new and improved sealed container assembly with sealing connection between the closure and the open end of the container. The sealing consists of a multiple number of associated parts which reinforce each other and provide a high degree of stiffness at the open end of the container sufficient to withstand the usual rough handling to which shipping containers are subjected.
CA2676410 discloses container with axially extending, circumferential distributed ribs stack inside of the container wall. The stacking ribs serve to allow the stacking of several containers into each other. Each upper container can be supported in the respective lower container, such that the two cone-shaped vessel walls do not get jammed together.
US8256640 discloses container including one or more sidewalls that surround an internal cavity and wherein one or more of the sidewalls include a reinforcing web of increased wall thickness for having improved strength-to-material and/or strength-to-weight ratios.
Such prior art constructions work well. However, a lid construction with special features that enable easy handling, access while providing better tamper-evidence and locking functionality has not been known.
In a co-pending patent application 4705/CHE/2014, the applicant had disclosed a tamper-evident lid-container combination having specially designed tamper-evidence and a tear away band which can be pulled out in anti-clockwise direction around the periphery of the container. The lid has primary and secondary locking facilities which allow the container to be used effectively. The container is shaped and configured such that the lid fits into the sections defined so that a primary zone or zones of weight transfer between the closure and the container occurs at the surface of the side wall of the container. The lid is shaped and configured to get locked with container under the bias of a resilient container portion when the lid press fitted on the container. However such resilient container portion biased locking of the lid on the container does not effectively avoid the detachment of the lid from the container specifically loaded container in bottom up orientation of the loaded container or drop down condition of the loaded container.
In a co-pending patent application 202041020733 the applicant had disclosed a tamper-evident lid-container combination with an improved locking between a container and its lid which can prevent detachment of the lid from the container specifically loaded container even in bottom up orientation of the loaded container or drop down condition of the loaded container.
However in the above lid structure with their special locking segment are not suitable for easy fitting on the pail/container. Specifically the discrete locking segments on the lid require time consuming proper alignment with the corresponding spring back openings of the pail to have proper assembly or locking of the pail and lid.
Thus there has been a need for developing an improved lid – pail combination with special anti delidding locking arrangement therebetween which will prevent detachment of the lid from the pail and also ensure user friendly and fast lidding feature for easy lid and pail assembly, where with little effort the lid can be easily fitted on to the pail.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
As stated herein before, the present invention provides lid for tamper proof affixing to a container and tamper evident detachment for lid opening for use. The present invention also provides lid – container combination with new and special anti-delidding locking arrangement which would prevent detachment of the lid from the container and also ensure user friendly and fast lidding feature for easy lid and container assembly, where with little effort the lid can be easily fitted on to the container. The container -lid combination of the present invention is shown in the accompanying FIG 1.

Reference is now invited from the accompanying FIG. 2A – 2F which are showing different views of the present lid for tamper proof affixing to container and tamper evident detachment for lid opening for use. As shown in the referred figures, the present lid includes a peripheral downwardly extending side wall (S) having a top peripheral region (A1) which is connected to top of the lid (T) and a lower peripheral region (A2). An intermediate tamper evident means (2) separates the top peripheral region (A1) from the lower peripheral region (A2).

The lower peripheral region (A2) comprises one or more internally secured press fit based co-acting lock means (1) which are configured to cooperate with corresponding matching lock region (7: Fig 4) in the container to which the lid is to be affixed and thus enable activation an anti-delidding locking arrangement between the co-acting lock means (1) of the lid and the matching lock region (7: Fig 4) of the container during capping of the lid on the container to prevent detachment of the lid from the container and ensure user friendly and fast lidding or fitting of the lid on the container.

After activation of the anti-delidding locking arrangement, only the intermediate tamper evident means (2) of the lid enables separation of the permanently attached lower peripheral region (A2) upon affixing to the container from the top integral secured peripheral region (A1) connected to top of the lid for opening and re-liding of the container in a tamper evident manner.
As shown in the above referred figures intermediate tamper evident means (2) is basically a releasable peripheral peel off tearable member (2) which is integrally attached to the lower peripheral region (A2) at one side and the top integral secured peripheral region (A1) at other side through weaker sections. This peripheral peel off tearable member (2) enables tamper evident tear to open the lid top with the top integral secured peripheral region (A1) detached from the lower peripheral region (A2) which is irreversibly locked with respect to the container by the anti-delidding locking arrangement. Thus the peel off tearable member (2) acts as proof for first opening of affixed lid from the container.

In a preferred embodiment, two ribs (2a and 2b) are provided on the peel off tearable member (2) for structural supporting thereof and prevent accidental breaking of the tearable member (2) during peeling off for lid opening.

In the present lid embodiment, the press fit based co-acting lock means (1) basically corresponds to plurality of spaced apart raised blocks (1: Fig 2A) having downward inwardly facing slants which are disposed throughout the internal peripheral side wall of the lid. These lid side wall embedded slants (1) are adapted to be press fitted into corresponding plurality of co acting perforations (7: Fig 4A) in the container to which the lid is supposed to be affixed for activation of the anti-delidding locking arrangement. The outer peripheral side wall of the lid corresponding to the lid side wall embedded slants (1) positions includes recessed portions (4) to maintain uniform thickness of the lid side wall.

In a preferred embodiment, the lid top comprises an extended peripheral inverted U channel shaped top wall (U). This extended peripheral inverted U channel shaped top wall (U) provides rigidity to the lid body for press fit against a container and accommodates the container top within the inverted U channel space for leak-proof sealing including multiple fixing or re-liding of the lid on the container after first temper evident opening.
The lid top also includes staking orientors comprising spaced stack oriented profiles including curved profiles at the corners (5a) and intermediate profiles (5) to match staking of lids one above the other without any damage as shown in FIG 3.
In a preferred embodiment, the lid top includes a centralized curved profile (6) and divergent flow ladder (3) to provide structural support to the lid preventing it from any deformation.

Reference is next invited from the accompanying Fig 4A - 4F which are illustrating different views of the container that to be associated with the lid as described above. As shown in the above referred figures, the container includes an open peripheral top matching to the peripheral lid functioning as a matching container closure.
The container is constituted by a closed bottom and side wall portion extending into an open peripheral top to which the lid is affixed.
The open peripheral top side wall of the container comprises a peripheral surrounding outwardly extended protrusion with a contiguous downwardly extending inclined portion (9) having there under (P) spaced apart said plurality of lock access opening or the perforations (7). These lock access opening or the perforations (7) are partially or fully covered by rim (10). This rim (10) covers entire periphery of the container around the lock accessing openings or the perforations (7) such that upon press fitting of the lid with respect to the container, each of the container’s side wall lock access openings (7) match with any one of the spaced apart raised blocks (1: Fig 2A) of the lid and thus the press fit based co acting lock means of said lid gets secured to the lock access opening of container resulting permanently anti-delidding locking of the lower peripheral region of the lid onto the container
The above anti-delidding locking arrangement involving the internally secured press fit based co acting lock means (1) of lid, which cooperate and permanently attach to corresponding plurality of said lock access opening (7) in the container to which lid is to be affixed, prevents access for tamering or attempted unlocking of the locks between the internally secured press fit based co acting lock means (1) of lid cooperating and permanently attached to corresponding plurality of the lock access opening (7) in the container.
In a preferred container embodiment, the extending inclined portion (9) comprises a slant configuration to facilitate the press fit insertion of the raised blocks (1) having downward facing slant disposed throughout the internal peripheral side wall of the lid while inserting into the plurality of lock access openings (7) in the container.
The rim (10) is supported with respect to the container wall by supporting ribs (13) below the locking access perforations (7) for strengthening the rim and enhancing compression strength. Added to this, the rim (10) at the container side wall alongside the lock access openings (7), the container is provided with connectors (12) for securing a container handle and handle resting arrangement (11) to retain the handle during storing and transportation.
In a preferred container embodiment, the container side wall top comprises hump shaped lack (8) around entire periphery of the container operating as continuous lock and engage with the inverted U-shaped channel (U) on the lid top to retain the lid on the container for leak-proof sealing thereto including multiple fixing or re-liding of the lid on the container after first temper evident opening.
The container side wall top also comprises stacking ribs (15) at corners for avoiding jamming when the containers are nestled one into the other as shown in the Fig 5.
In a preferred container embodiment, the container includes curved wavy profiles (14) in bottom to minimize warpage and to absorb shocks while in impact.

The aforementioned described features help alleviate the problems associated with prior art technologies. It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that various modifications and alternatives to those details could be developed in light of the overall teachings of the disclosure. Accordingly, the particular arrangements disclosed are meant to be illustrative only and not limiting as to the scope of the invention which is to be given the full breadth of the appended claims and any and all equivalents thereof.
