THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE NATURE OF THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED: -

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
This invention relates to the field of metrology.
This invention is associated with day to day measurements taken while measuring
geometrical parameters for educational and industrial purpose.
Particularly, this invention relates to a system for the measurement of linear distance
(Distance between two end points of arms) and angular distance (Angle between two jaws)
with the help of compass.
More particularly, this invention relates to measurement of angles in degree and linear
distance in centimeter with the help of compass and its attachment.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Measurement of the geometrical dimension is very essential while drawing process.
Particularly in the field of education and industrial for measuring the geometrical
parameters. While drawing a circle with the help of compass, we have to take desired radius
with the help of scale (ruler) and for measuring angle, we have to use protector.
It takes much time to set the desired value with the help of them. So we have to design such
an instrument which will reduce the time required and number of instrument required.
The problems in present compass while measuring the dimension include the following:
1. The time required for setting dimension is more.
2. It becomes difficult to transfer the dimension by compass from ruler to drawing with accuracy.
3. The number of instruments required for this process is more.
4. There are more chances of parallax error.

PRIOR ART:
According to the prior art it is observed that the present compass is provided only for drawing the circle of previously set dimension. The compass is not provided with any kind of arrangement which will help in setting both linear dimension (Distance between two end points of arm) and angular distance (Angle between two arms).
It is observed that there is a need of development of some system or attachment which can help in taking both linear and angular distances.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
An object of the invention is to provide a system where setting the dimension in compass
will become easy.
Another object of the invention is to provide scale for measuring the both linear and angular
distances.
Yet another object of the invention is to save time and avoid irritation caused by
mismatching of dimension.
Still another object of the invention is to reduce the number of instrument required as well
as to reduce chances of parallax error for this measurement process.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION:
According to this invention, an attachment for easy setting and measuring of a compass dimension is provided. The attachment can be the scale with magnifying glass and pointer which will be provided for measuring both linear and angular distances.

The system comprises of:
- A scale for measuring the both linear distance between end points of arms and angle between two arms which will be used for setting and reading the dimension.
- A magnifying glass is provided for avoiding parallax error.
- A compass with two arms (one of which has attachment of pencil.)
- A holding passage for the proper grip.
- A Screw hole for adjustment of angular measurement.
- A pointer for indicating the reading on scale.
- Two arms are connected by the screw with an attachment.
- A screw for adjustment of tightness of the two arms.
Typically, said compass is a device used to draw a circle of certain radius.
Typically, said these compass is provided with extra circular scale.
Typically, said with the circular scale we provide the pointer at its Centre.
Typically, said with the help of pointer we can easily measure the linear distance as well as
angles.
Typically, said magnifying glass is provided for precise measurement.
Typically, said the linear distance (Distance between two end points of arms) is measured
in centimeters and angular distance (Angle between two arms) is measured in degrees.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
The invention will now be described in relation to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 illustrates a attachment installed on a compass for the measurement of linear and
angular distance. Figure 2 illustrates the parameters whose measurement is to be carried out.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
According to this invention, an attachment scale with magnifying glass is provided
in compass. The present innovation relates to metrology which deals with measurement and
control. This innovation is based upon principle of conversion of angular distance in degrees
to the linear distance in centimeters by mathematical relation between them.
The principle components of the system are angular scale, magnifying glass, pointer, arm, pencil,
Screw and screw hole. The price of required combination of compass and the attachment is not
much more than available compass.
In the Figure 1, the number indicates. Reference numeral 1, relates to linear scale. Reference numeral 2, relates to angular scale. Reference numeral 3, relates to pencil. Reference numeral 4, relates to movable arm. Reference numeral 5, relates to fixed arm. Reference numeral 6, relates to pointer for linear scale. Reference numeral 7, relates to pointer for angular scale. Reference numeral 8, relates to hole in screw. Reference numeral 9, relates to screw. In the Figure 2, the number indicates. Reference numeral 10, relates to angular dimension. Reference numeral 11, relates to linear dimension.
