Abstract: The present invention relates to a Li-ion capacitor (200). The Li-ion capacitor (200) may comprise one or more anodes (202) fabricated through coating of a first active material over a first current collector. The Li-ion capacitor (200) may further comprise one or more cathodes (204) fabricated through coating of a second active material comprising three-dimensional crumpled reduced graphene oxide (3D-CrGO) (216) over a second current collector. The Li-ion capacitor may also comprise an electrolyte (206) for allowing ion exchange between the one or more anodes (202) and the one or more cathodes (204). (To be published with Fig. 2A)
1. A lithium-ion capacitor (200) comprising: one or more anodes (202) fabricated through coating of a first active material over a first current collector; one or more cathodes (204) fabricated through coating of a second active material comprising three-dimensional crumpled reduced graphene oxide (3D-CrGO) (216) over a second current collector; and an electrolyte (206) for allowing ion exchange between the one or more anodes (202) and the one or more cathodes (204).
2. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first active material comprises two-dimensional reduced graphene oxide (2D-rGO).
3. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the 2D-rGO is doped with nitrogen or fluorine.
4. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the 2D-rGO is prepared through simultaneous reduction of graphene oxide.
5. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the 3D-CrGO (216) is doped with boron or phosphorus.
6. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the 3D-CrGO (216) is prepared by spraying graphene oxide in a chamber at a predefined temperature.
7. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the predefined temperature ranges from 400 to 800 degree centigrade.
8. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first current collector is a perforated copper foil.
9. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second current collector is a perforated aluminium foil.
10. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a lithium foil (210) for electrochemical pre-lithiation of the one or more anodes (202).
WE CLAIM:
1. A lithium-ion capacitor (200) comprising:
one or more anodes (202) fabricated through coating of a first active material over a first current collector;
one or more cathodes (204) fabricated through coating of a second active material comprising three-dimensional crumpled reduced graphene oxide (3D-CrGO) (216) over a second current collector; and
an electrolyte (206) for allowing ion exchange between the one or more anodes (202) and the one or more cathodes (204).
2. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first active material comprises two-dimensional reduced graphene oxide (2D-rGO).
3. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the 2D-rGO is doped with nitrogen or fluorine.
4. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the 2D-rGO is prepared through simultaneous reduction of graphene oxide.
5. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the 3D-CrGO (216) is doped with boron or phosphorus.
6. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the 3D-CrGO (216) is prepared by spraying graphene oxide in a chamber at a predefined temperature.
7. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the predefined temperature ranges from 400 to 800 degree centigrade.
8. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first current collector is a perforated copper foil.
9. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second current collector is a perforated aluminium foil.
10. The lithium-ion capacitor (200) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a lithium foil (210) for electrochemical pre-lithiation of the one or more anodes (202).
