Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrode for a lithium secondary battery and a manufacturing method therefor. The electrode for a lithium secondary battery has an auxiliary coating layer containing inorganic particles, a phenolic compound, and a binder, formed at the end portion of an electrode composite layer containing an electrode active material, thus alleviates thickness variation at the end portion of the electrode composite layer, thereby improving the energy density of a battery, and enhances adhesion of a separator at the end portion of the electrode to prevent precipitation of lithium from the end portion of the electrode, especially in the case of a negative electrode, thereby offering excellent safety.
