Abstract: The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery having an ignition suppression structure and a method for manufacturing the lithium secondary battery. More particularly, the present invention provides a method capable of suppressing the ignition of a lithium secondary battery by locating, on the upper and lower portions of a low-capacity unit including a low-capacity unit cell having relatively low energy density, high-capacity units including high-capacity unit cells having high energy density.
