Abstract: Disclosed is a lithium-sulfur battery with improved energy density and output, the battery having a mass ratio of sulfur within a cathode to electrolyte and a loading value of sulfur on a cathode that are set to a specific range, thereby enabling a specific energy density of 300 Wh/kg or more and a maximum output of 2 kW/kg or more to be simultaneously implemented. The lithium-sulfur battery comprises a lithium metal anode, an electrolyte, and a cathode, which comprises sulfur as a cathode active material, and satisfies the following formula 1. [Formula 1] 1 = ES/L = 1.4 In formula 1, ES is a value obtained by dividing the mass (g) of an electrolyte by the mass (g) of sulfur contained in a cathode, L is the loading value of sulfur on the cathode, and the units are in mAh/cm2.
