Location Based Multimedia Content Delivery

Abstract: Method(s) and system(s) for location-based multimedia content delivery to a user are disclosed. The method includes extracting a location information associated with a multimedia content. The multimedia content is associated with a user account of the user, and the location information is indicative of a geographical location at which the multimedia content was created. The method further includes tracking a current geographical location of a user device (106) of the user, where the user device (106) is associated with the user account. The method further includes performing one of predefined actions for provisioning of the multimedia content to the user through the user device (106) when the current geographical location of the user device (106) is within a predefined distance from the geographical location associated with the multimedia content.

Specification

CLIAMS:1. A method for location-based multimedia content delivery to a user, the method comprising:
extracting, by a processor (108), a location information associated with a multimedia content, wherein the multimedia content is associated with a user account of the user, and wherein the location information is indicative of a geographical location at which the multimedia content was created;
tracking, by the processor (108), a current geographical location of a user device (106) of the user, wherein the user device (106) is associated with the user account; and
performing, by the processor (108), one of predefined actions for provisioning of the multimedia content to the user through the user device (106) when the current geographical location of the user device (106) is within a predefined distance from the geographical location associated with the multimedia content.
2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the predefined actions comprise:
sending a notification to the user device (106) for accessing the multimedia content from a content server using the user device (106);
sending a notification to the user device (106) for downloading the multimedia content on the user device (106) from a content server; and
downloading the multimedia content on the user device (106).
3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the geographical location associated with the multimedia content is based on global positioning system (GPS) coordinates of a user device (106) through which the multimedia content is created.
4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the current geographical location of the user device (106) is based on GPS coordinates of the user device (106).
5. The method as claimed in claim 1 further comprising:
receiving the multimedia content for associating the multimedia content with the user account of the user;
creating a geo-fence for the multimedia content, wherein the geo-fence is a geographical boundary based on the predefined distance about the geographical location associated with the multimedia content; and
tagging the geo-fence with the multimedia content,
wherein one of the predefined action is performed when the current geographical location of the user device (106) is within the geo-fence tagged with the multimedia content.
6. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the predefined distance is set based on a user input.
7. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the multimedia content comprises a photograph, an audio sequence, and a voice memo sequence.
8. A location-based content delivery system (102) comprising:
a processor (108); and
a location information extractor (118) coupled to the processor (108) to extract a location information associated with a multimedia content, wherein the multimedia content is associated with a user account of a user, and wherein the location information is indicative of a geographical location at which the multimedia content was created;
a location tracker (120) coupled to the processor (108) to track a current geographical location of a user device (106) of the user, wherein the user device (106) is associated with the user account; and
a content delivery module (122) coupled to the processor (108) to perform one of predefined actions for provisioning of the multimedia content to the user through the user device (106) when the current geographical location of the user device (106) is within a predefined distance from the geographical location associated with the multimedia content.
9. The location-based content delivery system (102) as claimed in claim 8, wherein the predefined actions comprise:
sending a notification to the user device (106) for accessing the multimedia content from a content server using the user device (106);
sending a notification to the user device (106) for downloading the multimedia content on the user device (106) from a content server; and
downloading the multimedia content on the user device (106).
10. The location-based content delivery system (102) as claimed in claim 8, wherein the location information extractor (118) is coupled to the processor (108) to
receive the multimedia content for associating the multimedia content with the user account of the user;
create a geo-fence for the multimedia content, wherein the geo-fence is a geographical boundary based on the predefined distance about the geographical location associated with the multimedia content; and
tag the geo-fence with the multimedia content,
wherein one of the predefined action is performed when the current geographical location of the user device (106) is within the geo-fence tagged with the multimedia content.
11. The location-based content delivery system (102) as claimed in claim 10, wherein the location information extractor (118) is coupled to the processor (108) to receive a user input to set the predefined distance.
12. The location-based content delivery system (102) as claimed in claim 8, wherein the geographical location associated with the multimedia content is based on global positioning system (GPS) coordinates of a user device (106) through which the multimedia content is created.
13. The location-based content delivery system (102) as claimed in claim 8, wherein the current geographical location of the user device (106) is based on GPS coordinates of the user device (106).
14. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having embodied thereon a computer program for executing a method for location-based multimedia content delivery to a user, the method comprising:
extracting a location information associated with a multimedia content, wherein the multimedia content is associated with a user account of the user, and wherein the location information is indicative of a geographical location at which the multimedia content was created;
tracking a current geographical location of a user device (106) of the user, wherein the user device (106) is associated with the user account; and
performing one of predefined actions for provisioning of the multimedia content to the user through the user device (106) when the current geographical location of the user device (106) is within a predefined distance from the geographical location associated with the multimedia content.
15. The non-transitory computer-readable medium as claimed in claim 14, wherein the predefined actions comprise:
