Low Cost Lpg Cylinder Monitoring System With Gas Leakage Detector

Abstract: It is very much difficult for us to get to know that when is our LPG Cylinder going to be out of fuel or service. It is also very much difficult to detect any gas leakage in kitchen. So keeping these issues in mind we have developed a low cost LPG cylinder monitoring system with gas leakage detector. This device uses a load cell of 40kg, HX711 load cell amplifier, MQ-2 Gas sensor, Arduino Uno, LCD with I2c module, Switch, Buzzer and a 5v dc power supply.

Specification

Description:
This device comprises of an Arduino uno which processes data and function according to the program. The load cell is connected to the Arduino uno via HX711 load cell amplifier with VCC and GND and the DT is connected to pin 2 of Arduino and SCK to pin 3 of Arduino. The LDC is connected to the Arduino uno with VCC and GND, the SDA pin of I2C is connected to A4 of Arduino uno and SCL is connected to A5 of Arduino Uno. Now comes the connection of buzzer where the negative terminal is connected to GND of Arduino uno and the positive terminal is connected to pin number 11 of Arduino uno. At last MQ – 2 gas sensor is connect to +5 and GND of Arduino and the AO is connected to A0 of Arduino. When we give the 5v power supply to the Arduino uno all the components attached with it get the power as a result it turns on. Then we have to wait for 3 sec until the device calibrates the neutral weight of the base. The cylinder is now placed on the platform and the weight of the cylinder will be shown in the lcd display, as soon as the weight decreases the weight will be shown in the system and once it’s under 20 kg the buzzer will ring which can be manually be switched on or off. This is how we can calculate the weight which is left inside the cylinder. Now comes to gas leakage, as soon as there is any gas leakage in the room the MQ -2 gas sensor will detect and result in a long buzzer resulting in an alarm. The device again goes back to its normal state after 10sec.

2. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device can be used to measure gas in a cylinder.
3. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device can detect gas leakage.
4. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device can lift a load of 40kg max
5. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device can be powered by a power supply of 5v to 12 v dc.
6. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device doesn’t create any radiation or radio interference.
7. A method as claimed in claim 1, powering it by using a greater voltage power supply else then mentioned above can damage it.
8. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device is suitable for all climate.
9. A method as claimed in claim 1, this device should be kept away from fire.
10.A method as claimed in claim 1, this device can also run on a battery pack.
