Abstract: The present invention relates to machine for nursery bed preparation for rice seedlings. Nursery bed preparation operation is a laborsome process and involves broadcasting pre-germinated seeds in properly puddled and levelled soil. Traditional methods involve lot of labour and cost, an efficient machine can suitably save in cost of operation time, labour and energy.
The present invention relates to machine for nursery bed preparation for rice
seedling.
5 Background of invention
Transplanting is the most popular rice cultivation technique practiced across Asia.
Pre-germinated seedlings are transferred from nursery seed bed to the wet field.
Seedlings may be transplanted by machine or by hand. Prior to transplanting,
seedlings need to be raised in a nursery.
10 Nursery bed preparation operation is a laborsome process and involves
broadcasting pre-germinated seeds in properly puddled and levelled soil.
Traditional methodsinvolve lot of labour and cost, an efficient machine can suitably
save in cost of operation time, labour and energy.
Mechanical transplanters have built-in trays or seedling boxes, hence seedlins are
15 grown on thin layer of soil on rectangular strips that fit into the planting trays of the
transplanter.
A multi seed sowing device for sowing granular materials, particularly fertilizers
mainly for the solid fertilizer and the seed, was illustrated by Dr Swapnil et al.
20 (IJAERD) NCSOSET-2018, Volume 5, Special Issue 06, April-2018
In the prior art, patent no. EA009157B1 disclosed a seed sowing machine, the
machine has a frame on which there arranged a set of movable vertically sowing
ploughs, positioned one after another in a set of transverse rows and displaced
laterally to each other with gaps there between. Depth guide rollers are allocated to
25 the ploughs, controlling the depth of penetration into the soil, each plough has a
changeable chisel plough insertable in a plough body with a holder in an
interchangeable manner, the holder have blades extending over both holder sides.
3
To improve the prior art of the seeding machine for universal applicability and
further use it for leveling the soil surface after ploughs with blades extending
therefrom behind each plough the arranged two disc roller elements, which are
viewed in top view, inclined oppositely as V letter, and engaged to an opening that
5 is inclined in a driving direction.
Another patent CN108243644A disclosed a kind of seed-grain seed-sowing
machine, that consist of a rack, roller, plough, seed-grain funnel, belt seeding
apparatus, motor and transmission mechanism.
Another patent CN108601323A provides a kind of seed-sowing machine that seed
10 can be accurately expelled to target location.
Most of the machines in use were bulky and lack any mode of preparing seed bed,
they involve much labour. There was a need arising to provide easy to operate and
cost-effective machine to help farmers for proper nursery bed preparation for rice
seedlings.
15 Objectives of the invention
The main objective of the invention is to provide a machine for nursery bed
preparation for rice seedlings.

(06), chain (07), mixer bin (08), small chain wheel(09), rollers (091), chain (092),
polyethene roll (10), belt(11),shaft(12), a controller (13).
10 In an embodiment the present invention provides a sowing machine wherein the
sowing machine comprises a gear box (01)that is attached to the a tractor on one
side and on the other side is configured to plurality of soil loader plates
(02)arranged on two lateral sides of the tractor, soil loader is attached to a chain
(21); on the top is a sieve plate (03) configured above the soil bin (04) that is
15 configured above the seed bin (05); laterally chain wheel (06) is configured and a
chain (07) roll over the chain wheels; a mixer bin configured below the seed bin
(08), two small chain wheel(09), rollers (091), chain (092),polyethene roll (10)
configured at the base with the help of a shaft (12); belt(11) and a controller(13).
In another embodiment of the sowing machine wherein the gear box is attached to
20 the tractor via PTO shaft. As the tractor moves the soil loader chain and sieve plate
will work along with the belt. Soil loader will pick soil from the field and transfer
on the sieve plate, a drain or furrow will be formed on the ground alongside the
tractor which may be used for irrigation purpose.
The soil will be sieved and evenly distributed into the soil bin and the remaining
25 soil will fall from the sides and form bund on both the sides of the tractor. When
tractor will move around the field more furrows and bund will be formed.
Soil from the soil bin will fall in the mixer bin wherein the paddy will flow into it
from the seed bin via the pipe attached to the seed bin, the mixture of soil and seed
8
fall on the polythene roll. A soil layer of 20-25 mm height is layered on the
polythene sheet.
Polyethene roll will be attached with the help of shaft and weight of seed and soil
falling on the roll will automatically open the polyethene roll and after one cycle of
5 tractor will be over polythene will be cut with the help of cutter.
Seed bin and soil bin are configured with the rollers and wheels that are in
communication with chain wheel so that when wheels move the mixer of seed and
soil will be added into the mixer bin, wheel will not roll further after the lever is
pulled up.
10 Polythene roll is configured below the mixer bin that consist of mixer of seed and
soil that will fall on polythene roll.
The machine is configured to a controller to control the quantity of seed and soil to
be spread on the polyethene.
