Abstract: System(s) and method(s) for management of sensitive data in an audio file are described. A privacy management system (102) executes a data scan phase and a data access phase. A detection module (226) detects sensitive data in the audio file, present in form of DTMF tones and spoken digits. An identification module (228) classifies the detected sensitive data into buckets and tags the buckets with a label indicative of the type of the detected sensitive data. Further, the buckets are associated with zone indices and the zone indices are stored in a zone indices database (110). In the audio access phase, a user identification module (230) determines attribute based access rights associated with the user (112) requesting access to the audio file and a masking module (232) masks the sensitive data in the audio file based on the attribute based access rights associated with the user and the zone indices.

an identification module (228) to:
classify the detected sensitive data into at least one bucket, wherein each of the at least one bucket represents a type of the detected sensitive data, and wherein each of the at least one bucket is tagged with a label indicative of the type of the detected sensitive data;
associate the at least one bucket with each of the one or more portions of the audio file in a zone index; and
an audio access module (214), coupled to the processor (202), to provide a validated access to the audio file upon request of a user 112, the audio access module (214) comprising:
a user identification module (230) to determine attribute based access rights associated with the user (112) requesting access to the audio file, wherein the attributes determining the access rights is one of role of the user (112), domain of the user (112), and IP address of the system of the user (112); and
a masking module (232) to provide the audio file to the user (112), wherein the masking module (232) masks the one or more portions of the audio file based on the attribute based access rights associated with the user (112) and the zone index.
2. The privacy management system (102) as claimed in claim 1 further comprising an auditing module, wherein the auditing module provides an audit view of the masked audio file to allow an authorized user to validate the masking ability of the privacy management system (102), wherein the audit view is one of spectral view, time domain view, and spectrogram view.
3. The privacy management system (102) as claimed in claim 1, wherein an authorized user configures threshold values for parameters of the detection module (226) to control a degree of detection of the sensitive data in the audio file.
4. The privacy management system (102) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the masking module (232) masks the one or more portions of the audio file based on at least one of masking methods provided in a masking library, wherein the masking methods provided in the masking library includes high tone masking, silence masking, dummy tone masking, exact tone cancellation, masking by adding noise, and permutation masking.
5. The privacy management system (102) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the identification module (228) stores the zone index of the audio file in a zone indices database.
6. The privacy management system (102) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the data scan module (212) provides rule based search to an authorized user to allow the authorized user to search for sensitive data in the tagged zone indices.
7. The privacy management system (102) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the audio access module (214) allows the user 112 to download the audio file comprising sensitive data on a user device, and wherein the sensitive data in the downloaded audio file is masked.
8. A method for managing sensitive data in an audio archive (108) comprising a plurality of audio files, the method comprising:
detecting, one or more portions of an audio file comprising sensitive data, wherein the sensitive data includes at least one of, DTMF tones and spoken digits;
classifying, the detected sensitive data into at least one bucket, wherein each of the at least one bucket represents a type of the detected sensitive data;
tagging, each of the at least one bucket with a label, wherein the label is indicative of the type of the detected sensitive data;
associating, the at least one labelled bucket with each of the one or more portions of the audio file to create a zone index; and
storing the zone index associated with the audio file in a zone indices database 110.
9. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the detecting one or more portions of an audio file comprising sensitive data includes detecting pre-defined signature tones in the audio file, and wherein the signature tones define at least one of the starting point and ending point of the sensitive data.
10. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the classifying the detected sensitive data into buckets is based on one of number of digits in proximity of each other and the total number of digits in a detected portion of an audio file.
11. A method to provide a validated access to an audio file, the method comprising:
receiving, from a user 112, a request to access the audio file stored in an audio archive 108;
determining, attribute based access rights associated with the user 112 requesting access to the audio file;
retrieving, from a zone indices database, a zone indices associated with the audio file requested by the user, the zone indices comprising details of one or more portions of the audio file, wherein the one or more portions of the audio file contain sensitive data;
masking the one or more portions of the audio file comprising sensitive data based on an attribute based access rights associated with the user 112 and the zone indices; and
providing, to the user 112, the audio file with the one or more portion of the audio file masked.
12. The method as claimed in claim 11, wherein the masking is based on one of masking methods available in a masking library, and wherein the masking methods in the masking library includes high tone masking, silence masking, dummy tone masking, exact tone cancellation, masking by adding noise, and permutation masking.
13. The method as claimed in claim 11, wherein the providing the user 112 with the audio file includes at least one of downloading and streaming of the audio file with one or more portions of the sensitive data being masked.
14. The method as claimed in claim 11, wherein the method further includes masking of the audio file, by a user computing device 234, based on a masking header, wherein the masking header comprises of the zone indices associated with
the audio file, and the masking method to be applied on the one or more portions of the audio file comprising sensitive data.
