Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing masks, which method comprises the following steps: - providing first and second strip assemblies (40, 50) placed one on top of the other, each of the first and second strip assemblies comprising a first strip (21) of filtering material, a second strip (22, 221) of filtering material and an elastic strip (26, 27) inserted between the first strip of filtering material and the second strip of filtering material; - cutting the first and second strip assemblies so as to form, in a top-to-tail position, a first mask and a second mask having a median line (183) corresponding to the first weld line and to the second weld line, respectively, and openings (165, 166) intended to receive the wearer's ears.
