Abstract: The Mechanical device to impart rotation to a liquid column by changing its centre of gravity, consists of a column full of liquid (1), having an axle(5) around which the said column can rotate after change in its centre of gravity, which is to be induced through a number of bodies ( 2, 2A, 2B) which are lighter than the liquid in which they are immersed and hence displace liquid according to their volume. Such bodies (2, 2A & 2B) are attached with the help of a pivot (6) on a ring (4) which revolves around the main axle (5) of the liquid column. The bodies have solid weights placed to each one of them as per the liquid that the bodies displace and therefore positioning of the weight is calculated accordingly. When the bodies, placed in the lower half of the chamber are rotated around the pivots according to a calculated distance, the centre of gravity of the liquid column changes and the column rotates around its axis due to gravity.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The Mechanical device to impart rotation to a liquid column by changing its centre of gravity, relates to the fields of Physics and Hydrostatic. It encompasses the engineering field and the science of fluids.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The subject invention relates to imparting rotational motion to the chamber filled with liquid , through assembly of this device, so that the change in the position of the device components changes the centre of gravity of the liquid inside the chamber, unbalancing it and resulting into its rotational movement around the axis on which the said chamber is placed.
The Invention makes use of the fact that a body (or bodies), lighter than the liquid in which it is immersed, and having its centre of gravity shifted away from the natural spot by a solid weight (or weights), the mass of which is exactly equal to the combined weight of liquid displaced and body's own weight , causes the same imbalance in centre of gravity of the liquid column , irrespective of its position with in the column.
Hitherto all the inventions when liquid is one of the constituents, have been based on the principle of buoyancy, where the liquid chamber has always been static and the air filled chambers move up or down to impart motions. The drawback with these inventions is that once the air chamber moves up in the liquid due to the force of buoyancy, same force is then used to bring the chamber back to the floor to make it operative again. Or alternatively the liquid has to be drained out in order to push the chamber back to the floor. There are no inventions available which use the unique combination of liquid displacement with weight placement.
There is no such invention which provides a rotational movement to the liquid chamber through shifting of centre of gravity internally. Hence no reference is being given of the past inventions. The unique feature of this invention is the combination of liquid displacement and weight placement in a manner which induces the rotational movement by changing the position of immersed bodies.
DETAILS OF THE DRAWINGS
1 A chamber filled with liquid.
2 A body which is lighter than the liquid in which it is immersed.
2(A) Another body which is lighter than the liquid in which it is immersed. 2(B) Another body which is lighter than the liquid in which it is immersed.
3 Solid weights placed on the bodies.
4 A round ring on which the bodies along with the weights are attached.
5 An axle around which the liquid chamber rotates.
6 Pivot points of the bodies on the ring around which the bodies are rotated.
DETAILED OF THE INVENTION
In the initial stage (fig 1 page 1) one body (2) is above the axle (5) in the upper end A of the liquid column(l) while two bodies (2A & 2B) are below the axle (5) in the lower end B of the liquid column (1). In such a situation the liquid column is in balanced mode. To induce change in center of gravity, the two bodies(2A & 2B) in the lower end B of the Liquid column (1) are so rotated upward by any normal means, around their axles (6) that they become horizontally parallel to the centre axle (5) of the liquid column. In such a situation the two weights (4) placed on the bodies (2A & 2B) also become horizontally parallel to the axle (5) along with bodies (2A & 2B) with the result that all of them are equidistant from the axle (5) Fig 2 page 2 . In this mode the lower end B of the liquid column (1) becomes lighter than the upper end A , because the weights placed around 2A & 2B now get closer to the centre axle (5) and according to formula F= m X d (where force is equal to mass multiplied by distance: the distance now gets less) and consequently the liquid column (1) rotates around its axle (5) due to gravity and the situation becomes like in figure 3. The two bodies 2A & 2B are in lower end B which now has become the upper end after the rotation. The three bodies (2, 2A & 2B) which were earlier in balance with each other, are out of balance after the rotation. The two bodies ( 2A & 2B) are now again given a rotation by any normal means, so that they attain position exactly similar to what they were to each other in figure 1. However, now the two bodies (2A & 2B) are in the upper half of the liquid column (1) fig 4, page 4. To achieve the original starting point, the three bodies 2, 2A & 2B are rotated along with the ring (4), by normal means around the axle (5) so that original position is achieved Fig 5, page 5. At this point the machine is ready to start once again after putting bodies 2A & 2B parallel to the axle (5). The circle thus repeats it self.
