CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
[0001] The present application claims priority from the Provisional Application No. 201741005024 filed on 13th Feb 2017, the full disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference herein.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention relates to the method and arrangement for mounting textile packages in an evenness tester meant for testing the quality of textile materials.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] An Evenness Tester is meant for testing various properties in yarn, roving and sliver. The arrangement of holding the textile packages plays an important role and improper package holders affect the test results.

[0004] Especially, when materials like sliver and roving are tested in evenness testers, proper support and guidance is required for packages to ensure the material is not disturbed from its original form by way of stretch and deformation. Slivers are usually withdrawn from the sliver coils already formed by the coiling mechanism of department machinery. In case of roving materials, since they are wound as bobbins, proper unwinding is necessary.

[0005] In traditional evenness testers, a spindle assembly is available through which the roving bobbin is inserted and roving material is unwound for testing. As the spindle assembly is normally supported at the bottom and not at the top, there is a possibility for disturbance of spindle rotating in its axis as the roving bobbin packages varies in its weight and dimensions which may cause stretch or deformation of textile material. Also, another drawback is whenever roving has to be inserted in the spindle, the bobbin locking arrangement has to be physically removed and reinserted after bobbin insertion and to be locked.

[0006] CN2866573Y discloses a creel used for evenness tester which contains a base, an upright post, the up bracket and the under bracket. The textile package is clamped in between the up bracket and the under bracket. The invention claims that since there is no rotating shaft along with the textile package, it avoids the abnormal tension to the textile material because of the bending of rotating shaft. But still, the invention holds the drawback of the upright post. In case of loose clamping or improper setting of upright post, the package rotates abnormally causing stretch to the textile material.

[0007] The present invention relates to the method and arrangement which contains a double ended rigidly supported textile package holder especially for roving bobbins in an evenness tester which overcomes the disadvantages mentioned in the prior art.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The main object of the present invention is to provide a method and arrangement for mounting the textile packages in an evenness tester which contains support on both the ends of the textile package so as to avoid any stretch or deformation to the textile material.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0009] Accordingly, the present invention provides a method and arrangement in an evenness tester for holding the textile packages especially roving bobbins on both its ends.
[0010] The present invention provides the advantage of avoiding stretch or deformation for the textile material during testing by the evenness tester.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012] For the better understanding of the object, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention, the present invention will be further explained in detail with respect to embodiments and accompanying drawings below. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein only be used for explaining the present invention but not used to limit the present invention.
[0013] The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for mounting the textile packages in an evenness tester.
[0014] In an embodiment of the present invention, the evenness tester is mounted with fixed top and bottom brackets. The textile package is held in between the top and bottom brackets to facilitate testing the textile material.
[0015] Fig 1 represents the mounting arrangement for holding the textile package (2). The arrangement contains a top bracket (1) which is assembled with a top casing (14). The top casing (14) contains a cushion plate (5) which is linked with a top spindle (4). The top spindle (4) is enclosed in a top bearing casing (10). The top spindle (4) is further connected to a top package holder (3). Likewise, the bottom bracket (9) is assembled with a bottom casing (8). The bottom casing (8) contains a bottom spindle (7) which is connected to a bottom package holder (15). The bottom spindle (7) is pressed by a screw rod (12) which is connected with a knob (6). Both the top bracket (1) and bottom bracket (9) are rigidly fitted to the body of the evenness tester (16) and the textile package (2) wound on a package tube (13) is mounted in between the top bracket (1) and the bottom bracket (9).
[0016] Fig 2 shows the method of mounting the textile package (2). The top portion of the package tube (13) of the textile package (2) need to be pressed against the top package holder (3) which will move the top spindle (4) upward and the cushion plate (5) moves in. This will allow the bottom portion of the package tube (13) to be comfortably placed over the bottom package holder (15). Since there is a cushion plate (5) at the top, it reverts back from compressed state and press against the top portion of the package tube (13) and hence the package tube (13) will be firmly held in between the top package holder (3) and the bottom package holder (15). When testing is performed by the evenness tester (16), the textile package (2) easily rotates and unwinds the textile material for testing. The free rotation and speed of rotation of the bottom spindle (7) is controlled by means of the position of screw rod (12) which presses against the bottom spindle (7) by adjusting the knob (6).
[0017] Fig 3 represents the close view of top bracket (1). The figure clearly shows the top bracket (1) which is assembled with a top casing (14). The top casing (14) contains a cushion plate (5) which is linked with a top spindle (4). The top spindle (4) is enclosed in a top bearing casing (10). The top spindle (4) is further connected to a top package holder (3). The cushion plate (5) can operate either by hydraulic means or it can have a mechanical spring mechanism.
[0018] Fig 4 represents the close view of bottom bracket (9) which is assembled with a bottom casing (8). The bottom casing (8) contains a bottom spindle (7) which is connected to a bottom package holder (15). The bottom package holder (15) presses against the bottom portion of the package tube (13). The bottom spindle (7) is pressed by a screw rod (12) which is connected with a knob (6). The pressure exerted by the screw rod (12) over the bottom spindle (7) controls the speed of rotation of the textile package (2). The bottom spindle is enclosed in a bottom bearing casing (11).
[0018] Fig 5 represents an alternate embodiment to Fig 4 wherein the rotation of the textile package (2) is controlled by means of an electromagnetic brake (17). The activation and deactivation of the electromagnetic brake (17) is controlled by a signal (18) received from the evenness tester (16). If the testing is in progress, then the electromagnetic brake (17) will be in deactivated status allowing the textile package (2) to rotate freely. Once testing completes, the electromagnetic brake (17) activates and stops the rotation of bottom spindle (7) thereby stopping the rotation of textile package (2). The activation of the electromagnetic brake (17) can be done manually also by using a control button connected to it.
