Method And Device For Deposition Of Uniform Nanofibrous Coating On Non Conducting Substrate
Abstract: The invention provides a method of making a layered membrane consisting of a primary and a secondary membrane, said method comprises the steps of depositing a secondary membrane of nanofibrous coat on a primary membrane (3) by electrospinning, wherein the electrospinning is performed by an electrospinning system (16) comprising two high-voltage power supplies (8, 14) providing equal and opposite potentials to the polymer solution loaded in the reservoir (5, 10) connected to spinnerets (11), which are positioned on diametrically opposite sides of a grounded rotating drum (2) in the middle. The drum (2) is wrapped with a non-conducting membrane (3) onto which the nanofibers are deposited. The nanofiber-coated membrane has fibers configured to capture particulate matter of size over 0.3 microns, suitable for various kinds of particle filtration purposes, viz, air filtration.
