Method And Device For Desalinating Water

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for desalinating seawater, comprising a step of cooling incoming seawater to a temperature of between -2 and 0 degrees Celsius in order to obtain ice crystals suspended in concentrated seawater. The method further comprises: a decanting step (215) for enabling an initial removal of concentrated seawater; a centrifuging step (220) to separate the ice crystals from the concentrated seawater; a step (230) of collecting the ice crystals; and a step (240) of obtaining freshwater by melting the ice crystals.
