Abstract: A method (500) and device (102) for associating sensors (104) with entities within a stack (104) is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes capturing at least one sensor parameter from each of a first plurality of sensors (104), wherein each of the first plurality of sensors (104) is attached to an entity from a first plurality of entities placed within a stack (120). The method (500) further includes determining a position of each of the first plurality of sensors (104) relative to the stack (120), based on the associated of at least one sensor parameter and a lookup table. The method may further associating each of the first plurality of sensors (104) with one of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120) to generate an association table, based on the position determined for each of the first plurality of sensors (104) and an entity placement scheme (116).
What is claimed is:
1. A method (500) of associating sensors (104) with entities within a stack (120), the
method (500) comprising:
capturing, by a mapping device (102), at least one sensor parameter from each of a first plurality of sensors (104), wherein each of the first plurality of sensors (104) is attached to an entity from a first plurality of entities placed within a stack (120);
determining, by the mapping device (102), a position of each of the first plurality of sensors (104) relative to the stack (120), based on the associated at least one sensor parameter and a lookup table generated for the stack (120);
receiving, by the mapping device (102), an entity placement scheme (116) within the stack (120), wherein the entity placement scheme (116) comprises an Identification (ID) of each of the first plurality of entities and a position of each of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120); and
associating, by the mapping device (102), each of the first plurality of sensors (104) with one of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120), based on the position determined for each of the first plurality of sensors (104) and the entity placement scheme (116), to generate an association table.
2. The method (500) of claim 1, wherein the at least one sensor parameter comprises a
sensor ID, an Angle of Arrival (AoA), and a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI)
associated with each of the first plurality of sensors (104).
3. The method (500) of claim 1 further comprises generating the lookup table, wherein
generating the lookup table further comprises:
capturing at least one sensor parameter from each of a second plurality of sensors, wherein each of the second plurality of sensors is attached to an entity from a second plurality of entities placed within the stack;
receiving a predetermined position of each of the second plurality of sensors relative to the stack; and
generating the lookup table for the stack, wherein, for each of the second plurality of sensors, the lookup table comprises mapping of the at least one sensor parameter to the associated predetermined position.
4. The method (500) of claim 3, wherein each of the first plurality of sensors (104), the second plurality of sensors, and the mapping device (102) comprises a communication module compliant with a wireless communication protocol.
5. The method (500) of claim 1 further comprises identifying non-association of at least one sensor from the first plurality of sensors (104) with one of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120).
6. The method (500) of claim 5 further comprising generating an alert upon identifying non-association of the at least one sensor.
7. The method (500) of claim 5 further comprises manually associating the at least one sensor (104) with one of the first plurality of entities.
8. The method (500) of claim 1, wherein, for a sensor from the first plurality of sensors (104), associating comprises:
matching a position determined for the sensor with a position of each of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120) as comprised in the entity placement scheme (116); and
mapping the position determined for the sensor with a matching position of one of the first plurality of entities to create an association.
9. A method (600) of generating a lookup table for associating sensors (104) with
entities within a stack (120), the method (600) comprising:
capturing, by a mapping device (102), at least one sensor parameter from each of a second plurality of sensors, wherein each of the second plurality of sensors is attached to an entity from a second plurality of entities placed within the stack (120), wherein the at least one sensor parameter comprises a sensor ID, an angle of arrival (AoA), and a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) associated with each of the first plurality of sensors and the second plurality of sensors;
receiving, by the mapping device (102), a position of each of the second plurality of sensors within the stack (120), wherein the position of each of the second plurality of sensors is predetermined based on a predetermined position of each of the second plurality of entities within the stack (120); and
generating, by the mapping device (102), the lookup table, wherein, for each of the second plurality of sensors, the lookup table comprises mapping of the at least one sensor parameter to the associated position, and wherein the lookup table is used to determine a position of each of a first plurality of sensors (104) relative to the stack (120), based on the at least one sensor parameter associated with each of the first plurality of sensors (104).
10. An mapping device (102) for associating sensors (104) with entities within a stack
(120), the mapping device comprising: a processor (110); and a memory (112) communicatively coupled to the processor (110), wherein the
memory (112) stores processor instructions, which, on execution, causes the processor
(110) to:
capture at least one sensor parameter from each of a first plurality of sensors (104), wherein each of the first plurality of sensors (104) is attached to an entity from a first plurality of entities placed within a stack (120);
determine a position of each of the first plurality of sensors (104) relative to the stack (120), based on the associated at least one sensor parameter and a lookup table generated for the stack (120);
receive an entity placement scheme (116) within the stack (120), wherein the entity placement scheme (116) comprises an Identification (ID) of each of the first plurality of entities and a position of each of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120); and
associate each of the first plurality of sensors (104) with one of the first plurality of entities within the stack (120), based on the position determined for each of the first plurality of sensors (104) and the entity placement scheme (116), to generate an association table.
