Method And System For Automated Shaped Cooling Hole Measurement
Abstract: An automated measurement system (400) includes multi-axis imager (500) configured to receive images of a workpiece (100) wherein the images include visual information about the workpiece (100) at a plurality of focus planes (140-152) or visual information about the workpiece (100) between at least two focus planes (140-152). The multi-axis imager (500) is also configured to determine a point cloud of a plurality of 3 D data points (600) wherein each of the plurality of 3 D data points (600) represents an intersection of one of the plurality of focus planes (140-152) with a surface of the workpiece (100) or positional information of the workpiece (100) in a de-focused area between the at least two focus planes (140-152). The multi-axis imager (500) is further configured to determine a plurality of dimensions of features of the workpiece (100) and compare the determined plurality of dimensions of the features to manufacturing specifications corresponding to at least some of the determined plurality of dimensions of the features.
