The following Specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed
RELATED APPLICATION
The present invention claims benefit of the Indian Provisional Application No. 3694/CHE/2015 titled " METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DYNAMICALLY ORGANIZING AND CONTROLLING DEVICE CONTENT (S-AROUND)” by Samsung R&D Institute India – Bangalore Private Limited, filed on 17th July 2015, which is herein incorporated in its entirety by reference for all purposes.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to wireless devices and more particularly relates to a method and system for dynamically organizing and controlling device content (S-around) in user equipment (UE) using multiple antenna based Bluetooth or Wi-Fi chip in the device to identify Angle of Arrival (AoA) / Angle of Departure (AoD).
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Angle of arrival (AoA) is direction of propagation of a radio-frequency wave incident on an antenna array. AoA determines the direction by measuring the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) at individual elements of the array, from these delays the AoA can be calculated. With the help of communication technologies such as, but not limited to, NFC, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi chipset on the user equipment (UE) having multiple antennas, and based on the antenna element position of multiple devices, the location or position of the devices can be identified. The methods angle arrival and the angle of departure (AoD) can be useful to identify the other devices and their direction before initiating the wireless communication.
The power of the chipset also plays an important role in the AoA and AoD as the power of the chipset can define the range of the selection or searching for the UE or the device. For example, BLE based AoA/ AoD process can identify the other devices within ~6m (approx.) location range, Wi-Fi based AoA/ AoD process can identify the other devices within ~60m (approx.) location range, and the like. Within this location range, user mobility or relative positions can also be identified. For example, User moves from one place to other place, first user moving towards or away from the second user and so on.
Further, the AoA/ AoD process can also provide isometric information, wherein BLE/Wi-Fi can be identified in 3D. For example, the AoA/ AOD process can provide information about other devices which of different floors. Further, the AoA/ AoD process can provide interoperability, wherein even with the old devices, new device with multiple antennas can be operated.
But, the existing AoA/ AoD process does not provide quick and user friendly interface for retrieving relevant data. Further, the current AoA/ AoD process cannot be brought out in complete device engineering and applied to all the applications. Further, the existing AoA/ AoD process does not provide quick accessibility.
Thus, there is need for a method and system for dynamically organizing and controlling device content (S-around) that can provide quick and user friendly interface for retrieving relevant data, can bring in complete device engineering and applied to all the applications, and provide quick accessibility.
The above mentioned shortcomings, disadvantages and problems are addressed herein and which will be understood by reading and studying the following specification.
