Method And System For Handling Local Emergency Numbers In A Wireless Communication Network
Abstract: Method and system for handling local emergency numbers in a wireless communication network. Embodiments herein disclose a method and system for enabling a device to receive a list of local emergency numbers, when the user is in a different area (such as a different country), before the device can attach to a communication network. The device can maintain a list of SIDs and emergency numbers in a look up table and a semi-list. On the device receiving a sync channel message from the network, the device can extract the SID from the sync channel message and can look up the SID in the look up table and the semi-list to obtain the emergency number(s) in the area, where the device is currently located. The device then adds the emergency number(s) to the list of emergency numbers present in the device. FIG. 6
