, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the method and system for material management for construction using Internet of Things (IoT). The present invention relates generally to material management of construction industry.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In Construction sector, project planning is the specific process where construction managers use to lay out, how they will manage and execute a construction project, from designing the structure to ordering materials to deploying workers and subcontractors to complete various tasks.
It is so lengthy process, which includes subcontracts for completion of project.
Materials management is a process for planning, executing and controlling field and office activities in construction. The goal of materials management is to ensure that construction materials are available at their point of use when needed. Armed with this vital information, clients can be well informed about the necessary arrangements that will lead to a functional and financially viable project.
The security aspect is more important to material management. Manual security is not adequate to monitor a huge site properly. Misplace of material, theft of material, waste of material may cause money and time loss, which affects budget of construction.
Currently there is no such system, which can tell construction team about material management with above issues.
The present invention solves the above problem with the help of Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and so on which enable these objects to collect and exchange data.
The concept of IoT has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT in construction sector is material management.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is that, the method and system for material management for construction site using Internet of Things (IoT).
Another object of the invention is that, easy tracking of materials.
Another object of the invention is that, easy replenishment of materials.
Other object of the invention is that, prevent material misuse.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system or method of material management for construction site using Internet of Things (IoT). The material management application is installed at backend server. At very initial stage material is coming on construction site, the Internet of things (IoT) enabled tags are attached to it. Number of sensors are installed at various places of construction site such as it will cover all the area of construction site in the network of Internet of things (IoT).
So, whenever material changes its position, sensor can sense it and send information to the server position change of material. Prevention of misuse of material, theft possibility, material waste can be done.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system or method of material management for construction by using Internet of Things (IoT).
Internet of Things (IoT) has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT in construction is material management.
The method and system of material management for construction using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of: Backend server – storing data from smart sensors
Sensors – sense material which are in range of sensor and send data to backend server. The number of sensors is installed at construction site in a such way that it will cover all the construction site in the network of Internet of Things (IoT).
The material management for construction site using Internet of Things (IoT) can work as following:
Step 1) The material management application is installed at backend server.
Step 2) Every material is attached with internet of things (IoT) enabled tag with unique id.
Step 3) The number of sensors is installed at various places of construction site in a such way to form a network area which covers all construction site.
Step 4) As the position of material changes, the sensor sends data to the cloud with help of internet of things.
Step 5) Cloud transfer material positioning to backend server.
This is the basic model of material management for construction. And scope of invention is not limited to this only.
The material management of construction using Internet of Things (IoT) has some advantages such as:
Easy Replenishment – As tag sense the location of material, it is easy to know when the material is finished. So, construction team can replenishment the material immediately when material is out of stock.
Tracking misplaced items - There are various instances where materials get misplaced, causing a dent to the construction bottom line. Material management can help construction team to curb the problem of misplaced items by alerting them through notifications and allowing them to look into the matter without causing any damage to the construction management.
Protect from theft – Sometimes it may happen the theft is become a big issue. As manual security is not adequate to prevent theft as construction site is really a big area to secure. With help of this invention theft chances are minimized, because each and every material get tracked from beginning to end.
Time saver – As the invention track each and every material, construction team can know when the re- stock should be needed. This saves time, money and labour of construction team.
It’s no longer necessary to send a human out to check out everything. The invention solves the all problems related to material management.
