Method And System For Optimizing A Drivable Range Of An Electric Vehicle

Abstract: The present subject matter relates to a method (500) for optimizing a drivable range of an electric vehicle by controlling auxiliary loads. The method discloses various steps to achieve the optimized drivable range by controlling the traction and non-traction loads. The steps disclose receiving information of efficient route and further dividing the route into a plurality of segments. Further, the method explains the steps of receiving the history data of previous journeys of other electric vehicles from a central database (106) for each of the plurality of segments (508); and estimating, by the route management unit (110), energy consumption for each of the plurality of segments and the entire route; comparing an available battery energy of the electric vehicle with the estimated total energy to check whether the desired range is achievable or not (512); and controlling, by the vehicle efficiency management unit (112), one or both of auxiliary loads non-traction energy or performance of the electric vehicle sufficiently enough to reach the destination. The present disclosure further explain a vehicle management system 102 for optimizing a drivable range of an electric vehicle.
