Method And System For Optimizing Business Gross Margin Of An Organization

Abstract: A method and system is provided for optimizing business gross margin of an organization. The present application provides a method and system for optimizing business gross margin of an organization by managing workforce pyramid of said organization; comprises deriving a multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for multifold segmentation of workforce in the organization; determining optimal promotion percentages for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization; implementing the multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for each employee of workforce in the organization by linking of said multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme with attrition risk analysis and career profiling data of each employee in each multifold segment of workforce in the organization; and managing workforce pyramid of the organization by modifying hiring targets and retention measures for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization dynamically.

Specification

Claims:1. A method for optimizing business gross margin of an organization by managing workforce pyramid of said organization; said method comprising processor implemented steps of:

a. deriving a multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for multifold segmentation of workforce in the organization using a promotion scheme derivation module (202);
b. determining optimal promotion percentages for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization based on the derived multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme after determining impact of said promotion percentages for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization on business gross margin of the organization using an optimal promotion percentages determination module (204);
c. implementing the multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for each employee of workforce in the organization by linking of said multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for each employee of workforce in the organization with attrition risk analysis and career profiling data of each employee in each multifold segment of workforce in the organization using a promotion scheme implementation module (206); and
d. managing workforce pyramid of the organization by modifying hiring targets and retention measures for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization dynamically post implementing the multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for the workforce and computing conclusive business gross margin of the organization using a workforce pyramid management module (208).

The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme comprises a multifold sub-classification of each employee of the workforce numbers in the organization is based on grade, project type, depute type, seniority, account, and skillset of each employee of the workforce within the organization.

3. The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the grade of each employee of the workforce of the organization is further based on educational background and number of years of relevant experience of each employee of the workforce of the organization.

4. The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the project type of each employee of the workforce of the organization is selected from a group comprising of fixed price, time and material required, operational expense of said project and non-billable project.

5. The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the depute type of each employee of the workforce of the organization is selected from a group comprising onsite depute, onsite local hire, and offshore, extracted from base location, depute location and hire type.

6. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprises of storing primary and derivative information for computing optimized business gross margin of an organization using a database (210).

7. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the plurality of derivative information is derived from primary information post reclassification of said primary information in categories of fixed price, time and material required, operational expense of said project and non-billable project.

The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the plurality of derivative information sources are selected from a group comprising of headcount, promotions eligibility, attrition, pipeline joinees, project identification number and project type mapping, grade and promoted grade mapping, average billing and cost rates per segment, attrition risk analysis, and career profiling data.

9. A system (200) for optimizing business gross margin of an organization by managing workforce pyramid of said organization; said system (200) comprising:

a. a processor;
b. a data bus coupled to said processor;
c. a computer-usable medium embodying computer code, said computer-usable medium being coupled to said data bus, said computer program code comprising instructions executable by said processor and configured for executing:

a promotion scheme derivation module (202) adapted for deriving a multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for multifold segmentation of workforce in the organization;
an optimal promotion percentages determination module (204) adapted for determining optimal promotion percentages for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization based on the derived multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme after determining impact of said promotion percentages for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization on business gross margin of the organization;
a promotion scheme implementation module (206) adapted for implementing the multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for each employee of workforce in the organization by linking of said multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for each employee of workforce in the organization with attrition risk analysis and career profiling data of each employee in each multifold segment of workforce in the organization; and
a workforce pyramid management module (208) adapted for managing workforce pyramid of the organization by modifying hiring targets and retention measures for each multifold segment of workforce in the organization dynamically post implementing the multifold parameter enabled promotion scheme for the workforce and computing conclusive business gross margin of the organization.

d. a database (210) adapted for storing primary and derivative information for computing optimized business gross margin of the organization.
