Abstract: Method and System for Optimizing Composite Laminate Structures A method for optimizing a composite laminate structure for at least a first parameter comprising the steps of: a. receiving properties of one or more composite materials a laminate stacking sequence one or more geometrical attributes one or more boundary conditions and one or more load parameters; b. performing an analysis for the laminate stacking sequence using one or more failure criteria; c. receiving one or more additional optimization parameters and number of startup plies; d. selecting a design principle; e. optimizing the laminate for the first parameter using differential evolution algorithm keeping at least a second parameter constant; and f. providing the optimized values of design variables and analysis results for the optimized laminate structure.
