Abstract: A street lighting and traffic control system and method employing sensor technologies. Conventional sensors and processors are linked together by a wireless mesh communications architecture that may also be interfaced through one or more gateways into on or more monitoring and control centers. Traffic flow reporting control and forecasting using a street lighting and traffic control network that includes a series of street lighting fixtures.
