Abstract: Provided is a method for manufacturing a metallic member having excellent corrosion resistance on a cut end surface thereof. This method for manufacturing a metallic member is a method for manufacturing a metallic member by punching, with a mold (20), a metal plate (10) having front and rear surfaces coated with a coating layer. The mold (20) includes a punch (21), a counter pad (22), holddowns (23), and dies (24). The holddowns (23) each have a protruding portion (231) at an inner peripheral edge section of a surface facing the metal plate (10), the protruding portion (231) of each of the holddowns (23) has a shoulder portion having a radius R1 of curvature on an inner circumference side, and the radius R1 of curvature is at least 0.10 times the thickness of the metal plate (10). The manufacturing method comprises: a step for pushing the protruding portion (231) of the holddown (23) into the metal plate (10); and a step for bringing the punch (21) and the dies (24) closer to the metal plate (10) to punch the metal plate (10).
