Specification

TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present disclosure relates to the field of medicine for reducing/suppressing
pain/agony to humans or animals. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a
method for preparing a formulation (such as drugs, lotions etc.) by utilizing magnetic therapy
to promote healing and to relieve/alleviate patients from pain caused to them.
BACKGROUND
[002] Background description includes information that may be useful in
understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information
provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any
publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[003] Many people suffer due to pain from various body parts. Pain is an unpleasant
sensation that occurs because of injury to the body or as a manifestation of a diseased
state. Pain is a worldwide problem with serious health and economic consequences in people.
Pain can be classified in many ways. For example, pain can be classified based on its duration
(acute or chronic pain) and by the underlying cause (nociceptive or neuropathic).
Nociceptive pain results directly from local tissue injury whereas neuropathic pain follows
nerve injury. Key features of nociceptive pain are that it can be experienced as sharp, dull, or
aching, and that there may be radiation of the pain, or the perception of pain in a different
area than where the nerves are being stimulated. For example, when a person experiences a
heart attack, pain may radiate from the chest down the arms or up the neck, even though there
is no tissue damage in these areas. Examples of nociceptive pain include pain from surgical
incisions, bone pain from fractures or metastatic cancer, and pain from joint diseases such as
osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Neuropathic pain occurs as a result of damage to, or
dysfunction, of the nervous system. Neuropathic pain is frequently described as burning,
tingling or having an electrical shock-like feeling. Another key feature of this type of pain is
its paradoxical occurrence upon stimulation that otherwise would not be expected to
cause pain. For example, a condition called trigeminal neuralgia may cause patients to feel
extreme pain upon a light touch on the body. Examples of neuropathic pain include
the pain resulting from diabetes and HIV infection, and post-herpetic neuralgia, commonly
called as zoster, which is a painful condition caused by the chicken pox virus long after the
initial infection has healed, in many cases years later. Neuropathic pain frequently coexists or
follows nociceptive pain, as for example when a patient that has had a surgical procedure
continues to experience pain long after the wound has healed.
[004] The medical effort to treat pain, known as pain management, addresses a large
and under-sieved market. Pain in a hospital is associated with increased length of stay, longer
recovery times and poorer patient outcomes, all of which have health care quality and cost
implications. Drugs are the principal means of treating pain. The pain management market is
anticipated to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 10% through 2020 due to a
number of factors, including a rapidly aging population with an increasing need and desire to
address pain-related ailments; longer survival times for patients with painful chronic
conditions; patients' increased demand for effective pain relief; and increasing recognition of
the therapeutic and economic benefits of effective pain management by physicians, health
care providers and payers.
[005] There is an area of on-going research, wherein the development of safer and
effective methods is desired for reducing or eliminating pain using transdermal analgesic
formulations. Over time, varieties of such analgesic formulations have been developed. These
include lotions and ointments containing aspirin or any of a number of non-steroidal antiinflammatory
agents. There are various drugs and formulations available for treating pain,
stress and sleep disorders. NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs) such as aspirin,
ibuprofen and naproxen, are among the most frequently used prescription and over-thecounter
drugs used to alleviate symptoms in acute and chronic inflammatory conditions
inducing pain. Relief of pain, particularly that resulting from a sport's injury and/or from
sprained or strained muscles, is also heretofore achieved by the application of topical medical
ointments or fluids such as liniment, oil of wintergreen, and other topical preparations that
include a suitable analgesic ingredient. Such topical preparations, while effective, are messy
and likely to soil any clothing with which they may come into contact
[006] Nevertheless, patients continue to face the significant challenge of their serious
complications like gastrointestinal (Gl) and renal adverse effects. Many of the currently
available analgesic formulations reduce pain to some degree, there is, nonetheless, a
continued interest in identifying new formulations which provide longer lasting pain relief in
a short period of time.
[007] Further, a use of magnetic fields to promote healing and reduce pain is well
known in the medical profession. We all know that human body produces subtle
electromagnetic fields, which have been generated in the body through chemical reaction
within cells and ionic currents passing through the nervous system. In recent years, scientists
have been discovering ways that electromagnetic fields influence the body's functioning in
both a positive as well as a negative manner. These observations and others have led to the
development of electromagnetic therapy as an alternative medicine. There have been many
studies in which it has been found that the use of magnetic fields can speed up post-operative
healing. Additionally, there have been many studies in which the use of
a magnetic field helps to alleviate pain due to muscle strains, tennis elbows, sore muscles,
lower back pain, arthritis and the like. While there have been many different theories
advanced as to why magnetic therapy works, it is still not clearly understood exactly
how magnetic therapy aids in healing and in reducing pain. However, it is clear that many
people's lives have been greatly improved by the use of magnetic therapy.
[008] As mentioned above, magnetic resonance is a widely practiced and growing
alternative treatment for many indications (i.e., illness, disease, medical condition, or
ailment). Magnetic resonance devices are a natural and economical means of treating body
pains and common injuries. Many methods have been used to apply magnets to comfort or
heal body areas and, thereby, avoiding the use of injections, pills, salves, or body-invasive
procedures. Overall, the basis of magnetic resonance involves artificially produced fields.
These fields may interact with components such as but not limited to, atomic or molecular
components of living tissue, which then have a beneficial effect on that living tissue.
[009] According to a citation "Magnet Therapy: A Billion-Dollar Boondoggle",
magnetic therapy is an alternative medical practice that uses static (i.e. unmoving) magnets to
alleviate pain and other health concerns, and magnetic therapy dates back at least 2,000 years.
[0010] Therefore, many devices have been developed to practice magnetic
therapy. One such magnet device for therapeutic use is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,549,532
entitled "Flexible Magnetic Sheet for Therapeutic Use" that discloses a permanent magnet
sheet having alternating poles for applying a magnetic field to portions of the body for
therapeutic purposes. Magnetic therapy devices generally take the form of placing a specially
adapted permanent magnet pad adjacent a particular portion of the body. Accordingly, there
are separate specialized products specifically adapted for back pain, neck pain, elbow pain,
wrist pain, knee pain, and other various parts of the body. Often, an individual wishing to
benefit from magnetic therapy is required to purchase a relatively large number of specialized
devices for placing a permanent magnet adjacent to different portions of the body. This is
often inconvenient and expensive.
[0011] One form of magnetic resonance uses static magnetic fields. Static magnetic
fields are produced by permanent magnets that may be incorporated into common items, such
as bracelets, belts, back pads, mattress pads, and mattresses. It is believed that
static magnetic fields have some efficacy in the treatment of broken bones and soft tissue
injuries, and tend to promote the circulation of blood as well as relieve stiffness in muscles.
More recent attempts employing the therapeutic effects of magnetic fields have focused on
devices that generate an electromagnetic field, and methods of treatment that employ such
devices in conjunction with computers. Using beneficial substances to treat indications is also
known in the art. Such substances may be used for a variety of purposes, including treating
symptoms of a disease, illness, injury, or other indication; as well as for general health and
wellness or any other purpose.
[0012] However, above existing solutions or formulations may not be that much
effective in relieving pain and may have worst impact on human body. Massaging with
existing oils may not be applicable for relieving all kind of pains. The existing formulations
may not be effective in smoothening of skin, in removing of toxic skin, in removing of dead
cells, in regenerating new skin cells etc. These solutions may give a lot of side effects and
health problems as well. Further, most of the existing solutions may not last longer i.e. they
may expire in a short period and this may lead to wastage of formulations and money as well.
[0013] Therefore, there is a need in the art to provide an efficient, cost-effective and
simple method or process for formulating a solution, lotion, formulation or oil that gives
enhanced relief to any kind of pain of various body parts of patient (either human or animal)
when the oil is implemented for massaging the pain causing body parts.

properly to any body part of the patient, any kind of pain will be reduced/vanished. This
formulation may not give any side effects, impact, damage etc. to health of the patients. The
preparation of this formulation may not create any health hazard, pollution etc., and this is
cost effective as well. This formulation can be applied to all the age group patients, as this is
effective in smoothening skin, removing toxic skin/dead skin cells, and in regenerating new
skin cells. Further, the application/massaging of this formulation on human body may not
give any skin rashes.
[0069] Here, the container is placed in sunlight instead of boiling it. The reason is if
we boil the container, and then there might be chance of losing some minerals, nutrients or
any other properties of oil.
[0070] The usage of set of magnets/magnetic materials can be useful for getting relief
from pain due to the reason that it may help to increase blood flow to the area of the body
where its effect is applied. This increases blood flow and then said to help tissues heal faster.
While this idea may sound possible because blood contains iron and magnets attract iron, and
wherein the iron in blood is bound to haemoglobin.
[0071] The most commonly used therapeutic magnets can be able to measure 400 to
800 gauss (one of the units in which magnet strength is expressed). The static magnets, also
known as permanent magnets, are used in magnetic therapy devices may come in two
different polarity arrangements. The magnets are either unipolar, which means they have
north on one side and south on the other, or they are having alternating-poles, which means
they are made from a sheet of magnetic material with north and south magnets arranged in an
alternating pattern.
[0072] Patient's (either human or animal) body may naturally have magnetic and
electric fields. All the molecules of the body may have a small amount of magnetic energy in
them. The thought behind magnetic field therapy is that certain problems happen because
magnetic fields of human body are out of balance. If we put a magnetic field near the
patient's body, it is believed that things will go back to normal. Ions like calcium, potassium
etc., may help body cells to send signals. Magnets may change based on how these ions act.
CHANGE IN THE COMPOSITION OF OIL DUE TO MAGNETIC PROPERTIES:
[0073] Oil composition or the formulation may change by getting in contact with the
set of magnets as the oil can have covalent compounds that can be easily broken when the oil
is exposed to the magnet. After breaking of covalent bonds, the magnetic properties can be
entered/transferred in the composition of oil easily due to the reason that the liquids/fluids
can provide very little resistance, and the thickness (called consistency or viscosity) of the oil
may become very low. Hence, magnetic properties can be transferred with the oil completely.
[0074] FIG. 2 illustrates a perspective flow diagram representation of the method of
FIG. 1 in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0075] In an embodiment, at 202, at least one litre of sesame oil can be taken in a
container (such as in a transparent bowl etc.).
[0076] At 204, the oil can be provided in the sunlight for at least one day so that the
oil can be exposed to the rays of sun to collect solar energy. This can enable faster circulation
of blood in the patient's body when the oil/formulation (after prepared) is applied or
massaged to the body. This step 204 is performed in order to make the oil thick (or to
increase resistance, consistency or viscosity of the oil). Instead of boiling the oil, by keeping
the oil in sunlight is suitable because in boiling, some of the nutrients of oil may be lost.
[0077] At step 206, the oil is placed in darkness for ten days so that the energy of
sunlight can be easily absorbed and settled in the oil. Further, it is preferable to keep the oil in
refrigerator or in any other cool place for the first five days, and for another five days, the oil
is placed at room temperature. The placing of oil in the fridge or in the cool place, the
formulation/oil may stay fresh for at least two years. In this way, the lifetime of the
formulation has been increased.
[0078] At step 208, the oil is placed/attached on the large magnets or exposed to the
large magnets for at least one month by considering the north and south pole of the magnet in
order to get the properties and/or magnetic energy of the magnets in the oil.
[0079] At step 210, the oil is kept in a cool place without disturbing the oil for five
days so that all the magnetic and/or sunlight effects and magnetic and/or solar energy may be
settled down in the oil to be formed as the formulation.
[0080] At step 212, after the oil is prepared, the small quantity of the oil can be
applied on the affected area for providing the massage with the prepared oil for a few minutes
daily in order to observe the good results. A masseur may be needed to make sure that the
massage may be required to be done in a clockwise direction until the time the oil is
completely absorbed in the patient body.
[0081] While embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and
described, it will be clear that the invention is not limited to these embodiments only.
Numerous modifications, changes, variations, substitutions, and equivalents will be apparent
to those skilled in the art, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention, as
described in the claim.
[0082] In the foregoing description, numerous details are set forth. It will be apparent,
however, to one of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure, that the
present invention may be practiced without these specific details. In some instances, wellknown
structures and devices are shown in block diagram form, rather than in detail, to avoid
obscuring the present invention.
[0083] As used herein, and unless the context dictates otherwise, the term "coupled
to" is intended to include both direct coupling (in which two elements that are coupled to
each other contact each other)and indirect coupling (in which at least one additional element
is located between the two elements). Therefore, the terms "coupled to" and "coupled with"
are used synonymously. Within the context of this document terms "coupled to" and "coupled
with" are also used euphemistically to mean "communicatively coupled with" over a
network, where two or more devices are able to exchange data with each other over the
network, possibly via one or more intermediary device.
[0084] It should be apparent to those skilled in the art that many more modifications
besides those already described are possible without departing from the inventive concepts
herein. The inventive subject matter, therefore, is not to be restricted except in the spirit of
the appended claims. Moreover, in interpreting both the specification and the claims, all
terms should be interpreted in the broadest possible manner consistent with the context. In
particular, the terms "comprises" and "comprising" should be interpreted as referring to
elements, components, or steps in a non-exclusive manner, indicating that the referenced
elements, components, or steps may be present, or utilized, or combined with other elements,
components, or steps that are not expressly referenced. Where the specification claims refers
to at least one of something selected from the group consisting of A, B, C .... and N, the text
should be interpreted as requiring only one element from the group, not A plus N, or B plus
N, etc.
[0085] While the foregoing describes various embodiments of the invention, other and
further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope
thereof. The scope of the invention is determined by the claims that follow. The invention is
not limited to the described embodiments, versions or examples, which are included to enable
a person having ordinary skill in the art to make and use the invention when combined with
information and knowledge available to the person having ordinary skillin the art.

We Claim:
1. A method for preparing a formulation, the method comprising steps of:
exposing a predetermined quantity of a vegetable oil, present in a container, to
sunlight for a first period of time, wherein the exposure of the oil to the sunlight
enhances viscosity of the oil and reduces losing of at least one of nutrients, minerals or
any other properties of the oil;
placing, the container with the exposed oil in a dark place for a second period of time
such that solar energy absorbed by the oil, and wherein the container placed in a cool
place for a predefined time during the second period of time;
exposing, the container with the oil, to a set of magnetic materials for a third period of
time, wherein at least one of magnetic attributes and magnetic energy present in the set
of magnetic materials transferred to the oil via the container; and
placing the container with the oil in the cool place for a fourth period of time to form
as the formulation, wherein the placing of the container with the oil in the cool place
improves lifetime of the formulation.
2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the formulation is applied and massaged to a
required body part of the either human or the animal suffering from the pain.
3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the vegetable oil is sesame oil.
4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the container is made of at least one of a
glass material, magnetic material and a metallic material.
5. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein at the step of exposing the container with the
oil to the set of magnetic materials, the oil comprises a plurality of covalent compounds
that are adapted to, when the oil is exposed to the set of magnetic materials, break, and
wherein the viscosity of the oil, when the oil is exposed to the set of magnetic materials,
reduces such that the at least one of magnetic attributes and magnetic energy are
transferred to the oil easily.
6. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein at the step of placing the container in the dark
place for the second period of time, the method further comprises a step of placing the
container, after completing the predefined time in the cool place, in a second place
