Method For Producing Porous Glass Microparticles And Method For Producing Optical Fiber Preform
Abstract: This method for producing porous glass microparticles has a first layer formation step for forming a first soot layer on the surface of a starting base material, and an outer layer formation step for forming a plurality of soot layers on the outside of the first soot layer. In the first layer formation step, the first soot layer is formed continuously in the longitudinal direction without any breaks. In the outer layer formation step, a burner group is moved in a reciprocating manner in the longitudinal direction relative to the starting base material while a raw material gas is supplied to each burner to form the soot layers.
