Specification

DESC:METHOD OF ENHANCING THE REGENERATIVE CAPACITY OF HAIR FOLLICLES AND USES THEREOF ,CLAIMS:1. A method of enhancing the regenerative capacity of hair follicles, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition comprising DFO; and
b. contacting (a) with hair or hair follicles,
wherein said method enhances the regenerative capacity of hair follicles by promoting hair stem cell maintenance.
2. A method of protecting stem cells against extrinsic and intrinsic stress factors, said method comprising of contacting stem cells with a composition comprising DFO.
3. A method of promoting stems cell maintenance, said method comprising of contacting stem cells with a composition comprising DFO.
4. The method as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the concentration of DFO in said composition is in the range of 10?M-200?M.
