THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION DESCRIBES
THE NATURE OF THIS INVENTION:-

This invention relates to Herbal Composition For Solar UV Radiation.
The present invention discloses an aqueous composition including Kamal and Palash along with other active, filler and base substances.
The invention includes use of combination of this composition for protection from solar ultraviolet radiation.
In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention the composition includes : A composition comprising materials from following herbs :Kamal (Eng.: Lotus) Nelumbium speciosum, Palash (Eng.: Bastard teak) Butea Frondosa.
Typically, the Composition includes material from both the herbs and preferably an aqueous extract of dried cut plant parts of the two herbs..
Typically, in the composition Kamal plant material is extracted in water by boiling in weight to weight ratio of 1:10 and concentrating the extract to 1/2 by wt. and treating the Palash plant material in the same manner.
Typically, parabens is added as a preservatives.
Typically, the composition, is presented in the form of Pharmaceutically Cosmetically acceptable dosage forms like solutions, lotions and creams for topical usage.

The composition is particularly suitable for protecting the human skin from harmful solar UV radiation between 280-380 nm administering an effective composition.
The method involves obtaining the plant extracts and mixing the extracts intimately with preservative, propylene glycol and water. A typical method is as follows:
Ingredients:
a) Kamal (Eng.: Lotus) Nelumbium speciosum
Preservative
Propylene Glycol
Water Procedure in brief:
The herb namely Kamal is soaked in 2.5 liter water boiled and reduced to 1 Liter and decanted to obtain herbal extract having characteristic properties. Kamal Powder : 250 g Propylene glycol : 25 g Water: 2 Liter
b) Plash (Eng.: Bastard teak) Butea Frondosa Preservative Propylene Glycol Water
Procedure in brief:

The herb namely Palash is soaked in 2.5 liter water boiled and reduced to 1 Liter and decanted to obtain herbal extract having characteristic properties. Composition:

Palash powder : 250 g
Propylene glycol : 25 g
Water : 2 Liter
The two extracts can be used separately or in conjunction with each other in suitable proportions ranging from 5 to 95%.
It is observed that the extract prepared in the above manner has shown substantial absorbance of harmful UV radiation (Range 280-380 run).
While considerable emphasis has been placed herein on the structures and structural interrelationships between the component parts of the preferred embodiments, it will be appreciated that many embodiments can be made and that many changes can be made in the preferred embodiments without departing from the principals of the invention. These and other changes in the preferred embodiment as well as other embodiments of the invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the disclosure herein, whereby it is to be distinctly understood that the foregoing descriptive matter is to be interpreted merely as illustrative of the invention and not as a limitation.
