Abstract: A method of manufacturing a color selecting apparatus (10) for a cathode ray tube (20) in which a color selecting electrode (5) having striped thin metal slits (4) is welded on a frame (1). The method have a step of forming a plurality of the striped thin metal slits (4) on the color selecting electrode (5), a step of providing the color selecting electrode (5) on the frame (1), and a step of welding the color selecting electrode (5) and the frame (1), a starting position of the welding being a predetermined distance from an end of the color selecting electrode (5).
