Abstract: A method of manufacturing reduced graphene oxide is disclosed. Graphite powder is mechanically agitated with a mixture of an alcohol, a ketone and a non-ionic surfactant at a first temperature and time condition to form a suspension of graphene oxide. The suspension is cooled and centrifuged to obtain a supernatant solution of graphene oxide, which is then heated at a second temperature and time condition to form reduced graphene oxide. A method of fabricating a biosensor device using the reduced graphene oxide is also disclosed.
