Microwave Pressure Cooker

Abstract: The invention relates to a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top which includes a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for ledge interlock type sealing and lug locking(4) engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking with the container(l). A receptacle type regulator opening means(5a, 5a' 5b) are provided as valve openings through the said cover(2) such that atleast two deformable diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) with slits(11) formed therein is adapted to be disposed on the regulator opening means and is deformed in responsive to the pressure in the enclosure and having different operating thresholds. A push rod type gasket offset device means(22) is mounted on locking lug(4) and locking handle (4") of cover(2) for releasably maintaining the said container(l) and the cover(2) in said sealing engagement responsive to disposition of gasket(3) on the cover(2) and the movement of the said casketed cover(2) relative to the said container(l) towards a lock position. Further a movable type pressure indicator means(13a, 13b, 13c) is adapted to be disposed in the opening formed on the cover(2) so as to rise visibly outward in responsive to pressure in the enclosure.

FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention in general relates to the microwave compatible cooking system to be used as home appliance for cooking foods and it more specifically relates to pressure cooking system to be used inside a microwave oven for cooking food containing water at a pressure above the ambient pressure The microwave pressure cooker described in this invention can be used to cook foods in various situations for domestic pressure cooking. This is a complete self contained system that can be used with any microwave oven provided with a chamber large enough to accommodate it.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION :
Microwave ovens use microwave energy to heat or cook food in a fraction of the time needed to cook with conventional ovens. Unlike conventional ovens, a microwave oven heats food without applying the external heat i.e. any flame or direct heat sources. The microwaves readily pass through many materials, such as glass, most plastics, paper and china clay, with little or no effect. Generally, these materials are used for making utensils which can be used for cooking in a microwave oven.
In microwave cooking, the metal utensils do not allow penetration of microwaves to generate the heat energy required for cooking the food, and thereby cooking efficiency is greatly reduced. Further there is also possibilities of damage for the microwave oven due to the arc formation between the metallic utensils and the door of the oven and may also results in the discoloring of cooking food which leads to a hygienic problem.
Nowadays the use of number of microwave oven in public has grown at very high rate. There has been an increase in demand for specially designed and configured cooking vessels for use in microwave ovens to provide easy and convenient way of preparing foods in microwave ovens. Many attempts have been made in the manufacture of various types of cooking vessels, casserole dishes,

^ various types of bowls, pressure cookers for microwave and the like, to be compatible with use in microwave ovens.
PRIOR ART:-
US patent no. 4796776 discloses a pressure cooker for use in microwave ovens includes a microwave permeable bowl-shaped container, a microwave permeable dome cover, and a steel locking ring permanently attached to the cover for maintaining the container and cover in fluid-tight seal during use. A safety valve, formed of flexible tubing, encounters a projection of the container and is deformed into a closed configuration responsive to movement of the cover, relative to the container, toward a locking position. A pressure regulator valve, consisting of a metal core surrounded by an elastically deformable casing, which is positioned over a pressure control opening in the cover to maintain a selected operating pressure level in the pressure cooker.
US patent no. 4853509 discloses a rice cooker for preparation of shaped foods of rice in a microwave range is made of microwave permeable synthetic resin such as polypropylene and internally provided with mutually separate confined spaces of a fixed capacity and adapted for accommodating rice with water. As the rice cooker containing uncooked rice with water is heated in the microwave range, compression acts on the boiled rice due to pressure contact of the boiled rice swelled and water with walls defining the spaces and the boiled water is automatically shaped in the spaces. Absence of direct contact of the rice with user's hand during the process enables preparation of shaped foods of rice such as rice balls without any keen pain and blemish on the hands.
US patent no. 5229563 discloses a pressure cooker and a process for making the same, wherein the pressure cooker includes a pressure container for accommodating food to be cooked, a cover for covering the container in an air-tight manner, a pressure control device for adjusting the internal pressure in the container. The container or the cover or both are partly or wholly made of a composite resin consisting essentially of polyphenylene sulfide resin and 30 wt.% to 50 wt.% glass fiber.

us patent no. 5310981 discloses a microwave cooker capable of cooking an assortment of foods by a variety of methods while maintaining constant pressure. This pressure cooker boils and steams foods continuously without pressure build up and without the need to shut off the microwave oven. Food spattering and spillage are prevented by a unique internal baffle rib design and a mechanism that releaseably locks the top cover. The top cover and inner cover of the pressure cooker have the same outer diameter and each have a plurality of vent holes or apertures. Both the top cover and inner cover are positioned within container and each have a skirted edge. The skirted edges form an enclosure within the container member, specifically designed to obstruct and contain escaping food particles.
Disadvantages of Related art : The existing microwave pressure cookers have metal parts for restraining structural changes. Moreover they have metal based deadweight pressure control systems. It is advisable to restrict the use of metallic materials inside microwave ovens because metals reflect microwave and modify the pattern of microwave distribution within the microwave chamber.
In addition, any sharp projections in the metal parts arising out of normal handling during the lifetime of the cooker can cause sparking in the chamber.
Further, the mechanical attachment between the metal parts and the polymeric parts is not perfect. This can lead to loosening of the said parts during the repeated thermal cycling which is common in normal use.
Existing microwave pressure cookers have various metallic parts like the use of metal based dead weight pressure regulators assembly, metal locking ring, metal latching members etc. Further they also permit emission of foamy liquid into the microwave chamber when froth generating foods are cooked.
In most of the prior art, the pressure cookers for microwave oven which either partially or wholly describes the apparatus of cooking system comprising container and cover that have been constructed using microwave compatible material. Further many attempts have been made in prior art to achieve a microwave compatible pressure cooking system, but still suffers from drawbacks of using some metallic

parts like metal springs, metallic ring, metallic core for dead weight pressure regulating system etc., which are more dangerous and have disadvantages. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION :
To overcome all the above disadvantages, the object of the present invention is to provide a pressure cooker system comprising of sub-assemblies, all of which are designed to be compatible with microwave energy, provide all required safety features both for normal cooking and foreseeable misuse, easy to maintain and give long service.
It is another object of the invention to provide a simple, attractive and light weight pressure cooker in which all parts and subassemblies are made up of materials that is compatible with microwave oven.
It is another object of the invention to provide a pressure cooker with an improved pressure regulating safety device made of elastomeric material without the use of metallic parts and conventional dead weight device for regulating the pressure developed inside the cooker.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a pressure cooker with an improved visual pressure indicating device made of elastomeric material without the use of metallic parts for indicating the pressure that developed inside the cooker.
It is further object of the present invention to provide a receptacle in the central portion of the cover of pressure cooker to prevent the spattering of the froth of the cooking food along with vapor when the excess pressure is from the cooker is ejected out during cooking operation.
It is further object of the present invention to provide an gasket offset device which works with an improved locking arrangement in the pressure cooker to prevent hazardous building up of pressure inside the container in the event of improper closing of the cover.

It Is further object of the invention to provide an effective, easy and convenient means of pressure seal for pressure cooker cover and container.
This cooking system is thus absolutely metal free and made of filled or unfilled polypropylene, delrin, polycarbonate or any polymer compatible with microwave energy at a continuous working temperature of 100 -125° C.
Further, the object of the invention is to provide a light-weight, simple and attractive microwave compatible pressure cooker embedded with all safety devices found in a conventional cooker without any protruding structures.
Thus, the present invention eliminates all metallic parts from the entire system and all of its sub-assemblies are made up of microwave compatible material. In addition, a special integral receptacle is provided to trap any escaping foam when cooking material which tends to froth which minimizes spillage into the microwave oven. Yet another feature in the present invention is that it is provided with a specially designed visual pressure indicator which is capable of regulating pressure when the cooker is under pressure and which also relieves the excess pressure in case of any contingency leading to the pressure inside increasing abnormally beyond the designed operating pressure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
According to the present invention, the microwave compatible pressure cooker is a combination of a conventional pressure cooker that is compatible for an microwave oven. This microwave pressure cooker is made-up of microwave compatible material like polypropylene with the use of silicone for sealing and safety devices.
In this present invention, the pressure cooker for a microwave oven works on the principle of normal pressure cooking like in a conventional cooker used on a gas stove so that the cooking time is less compared to time taken by non pressure cooking inside the microwave oven.
According to the present invention, the microwave compatible pressure cooker has specially designed safety devices like pressure regulating valve, secondary safety

devices and a gasket offset device. All these are made with microwave compatible materials which facilitates in using this Microwave Compatible Pressure Cooker inside the microwave oven. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS:

Figure 13 depict the gasket offset device sub assembly fitted in the cover(2) which
works in conjunction with the container lugs to prevent pressure build up unless the
cooker is properly closed as designed.
Figure 14 depicts the inner surface of the cover(2) wherein the gasket(3) is fitted to
the cover(2) along with locking lugs(4) and gasket offset device and further also fitted
with the pressure regulator in the center of the cover(2) to form a receptacle.

Figure 15 depicts the top surface of the cover(2) showing the pressure regulator
provided with a hood(IO) is fitted in the centre of the receptacle formed in the
cover{2).
Figure 16 depicts the elastomeric visual pressure indicator device wherein the device
has a non-deformable core(24), bottom circular disc (25) and top circular disc (26)
Figure 17 depicts the receptacle opening means(5a, 5b) of the cover(2) which further
includes perforated material(27) underneath the cover.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO DRAWINGS:

According to the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker comprises of a container(l), a cover(2), a cover gasket(3), pressure regulators and/or pressure indicators and ail are constructed of a microwave permeable material.
Figure 1 illustrates the essential features of the design exterior of the cooker container(l). The crucial elements are the ribs projecting from the surface in a designed pattern. The material of the container(l) and cover(2) can be unfilled or filled polypropylene, delrin, polycarbonate or any polymer compatible with microwave energy without deterioration of properties and which can give satisfactory mechanical performance at a continuous working temperature of 125° C with food.
Figure 2 illustrates the design of the smooth inner surface of the container(l) which permits easy removal of cooked material and subsequent easy cleaning of the container(l) without leaving any residue, of cooked food.
The container(l) portion of the cooker is such that there are ribs formed on it which not only strengthens but also facilitates easy of handling. Both the outer surface and bottom of the container(l) has ribs which acts as a thermal offset which minimize the heat felt when the cooker is taken out of the microwave oven after cooking and also provide mechanical strength to the cooker. The bottom of the container(l) is also strengthened and has ribs to ensure the container(l) is stable. The ribs also ensures that the bottom is always flat.
This unique pressure cooker as per the invention is a very attractive and strengthened to take care of the pressure. The cover(2) incorporates a band which merges with the handles. The unique top cover(2) is further strengthened with annular grooves.
However the container(l) also has handles coinciding with the handles of the cover(2) [indicating closure]. The cover(2) has ribs to strengthen and provide safety during use in normal and abnormal conditions, while minimizing the weight of the cooker.

The cover(2) has unique feature wherein the froth or vapour is collected in a receptacle. The receptacle has a top cover(6).
In one embodiment of the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprises of some or all of the parts namely a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for ledge interlock type sealing and lug locking engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking with the container(l) and a receptacle type regulator opening means(5a,5a',5b) forming valve openings through the said cover(2). The said cover(2) shall have atleast two deformable diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) having different operating thresholds responsive to the pressure in the enclosure and with slits(11) formed therein is adapted to be disposed on the regulator opening means. A push rod type gasket offset device means(22) is mounted on locking lug(4) and locking handle (4") of cover(2) for releasably maintaining the said container(l) and the cover(2) in said sealing engagement responsive to disposition of gasket(3) on the cover(2) and the movement of the said gasketed cover(2) relative to the said container(l) to a lock position. A movable type pressure indicator means(13a, 13b, 13c) is adapted to be disposed in the opening formed on the said cover(2) so as to rise visibly outward responsive to pressure in the enclosure.
In another embodiment of the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise some or all of the parts namely, a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for ledge interlock type sealing and lug locking engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking with the container(l) and a receptacle type regulator opening means(5a,5a',5b) forming valve openings through the said cover(2). The said cover(2) shall have atleast two deformable diaphragm type pressure regulator means having different operating thresholds which are responsive to the pressure in the enclosure and with slits(ll) formed therein adapted to be disposed on the regulator opening means. A push rod type gasket offset device means(22) is mounted on locking lug(4) and locking handle (4") of cover(2) for releasably maintaining the said container(l) and the cover(2) in said sealing engagement responsive to disposition of gasket(3) on the cover(2) and the movement of the said gasketed cover(2) relative to the said CQntalner(l) to a lock position. A movable type

pressure indicator cum regulator means(13a, 13b, 19a, 19b) is adapted to be disposed in the opening formed on the cover(2) so as to eject visibly outward responsive to pressure in the enclosure and further the needle having a slit(20,21) at its free end adapted to open in response to pressure encountered in the enclosure.
Figure 3 shows the recessed integral receptacle in the top of the cover(2) which receptacle is intended to trap any foam ejected from the inside through the pressure regulator.
As per the invention, there are two hole type regulator opening means(5a, 5a') provided on the cover(2) into which two different types of diaphragm type pressure regulator means (8a, 8b) is removably disposed.
A microwave pressure cooker as per the invention shall have a receptacle type regulator opening means which has a hole(5a) formed on the cover(2) on to which the diaphragm type regulator means(8a) is removably disposed.
A microwave pressure cooker as per the invention shall have a receptacle type regulator opening means which has a hole(5a') formed on the cover(2) on to which the diaphragm type regulator means(8b) is removably disposed.
A microwave pressure cooker as per the invention shall have a receptacle type regulator opening means(5b) which has an open annular cylindrical length of enclosed receptacle body formed underneath the cover(2) as vapour striking volume and formed integral with the cover(2). The said receptacle body has a generally circular opening(5b) or a cutout at its bottom adapted for removably disposing the diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a), thereby forming a open cavity arrangement.
A microwave pressure cooker as per the invention shall have a receptacle type regulator opening means(5b) which has a covered annular cylindrical length of enclosed receptacle body formed underneath the cover(2) as vapour striking volume. Further the said means shall have a receptacle body with a generally circular opening or a cutout at its bottom adapted for removably disposing the diaphragm

type pressure regulator means and includes a removably affixed receptacle cover(6) adapted for its top end forming a cavity arrangement. The said cover(6) further have been adapted with lip(7)or an protrusion at the peripheral top edge so as to form an opening in the said cavity arrangement.
In figure 4, a microwave pressure cooker as per the invention shall have a receptacle cover(6) which is a smooth dome like structure in its inner surface for deflecting the steam ejecting from the open slit(11) of the pressure regulator radially around and within the receptacle cavity arrangement.
A microwave pressure cooker as per the invention, the cover of the receptacle(6) shall have a cone type projection in its inner surface for deflecting the steam radially and uniformly into the receptacle cavity arrangement.
Figure 5, 6, 7A, 7B, 7C illustrates the elastomeric pressure regulator. The material of the pressure regulator can be silicon rubber, fluoro elastomer, or any other elastomer which can stand a continuous working temperature of 125°C and which is compatible with microwave energy without deterioration of properties. All the regulators 8a, 8b and visual pressure indicator cum regulators 13b and 19b are unique in the sense that they can be disposed on the cover in either direction.
A pressure regulator valve with a slit(11), made of Silicone rubber will maintain a selected operating pressure level in the pressure cooker. It is a device where in the safety feature does not use a dead weight or a spring like conventional pressure cooker. The Pressure regulation is done by a Silicone device. Thus it is different as it does not have the dead weight design that is normally used in all types of conventional cookers. There will be atleast two of these regulators which act at different pressure levels.
It also has another unique feature of guiding channel which used to guide the regulated vapour or froth from cooking food into the receptacle formed in the centre of the cover(2) and not sprayed out in the cover(2) surface like a normal conventional regulating valve.

As per the invention, an elastically deformable pressure regulator diaphragm is formed of microwave permeable flexible material with a slit(11) made thereon, such that when it encounters a pressure increase inside the closed cooker is deformed into a open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker.
The pressure regulator comprising a diaphragm(9) fixed to the cover(2) of a pressure cooker on a regulator means forming a regulator opening through the said cover(2).
A pressure regulator having a operating threshold, the regulator being of the type comprising an elastically deformable diaphragm body fixed to the cover(2) of a pressure cooker and having a slit(11) in closed configuration formed therein, the regulator is such that the diaphragm is deformed to change the slit(11) into an open configuration under the effect of the pressure applied on the diaphragm.
In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and a pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) which has a pressure responsive diaphragm(9) adapted to be disposed on the cover(2) of the cooker and further it is characterized in the non-metallic deformable microwave permeable diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b), with or without a hood(10). The said diaphragm(9) shall have a slit(11) made thereon. The diaphragm(9) responds when encountering a pressure increase within the container(l) to change the slit(11) into an open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker enclosure. The said diaphragm(9) is further characterized with a flat disc shaped pressure responsive member(12), adapted to be disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means(5a, 5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker. The said disc portion shall include an outer cooperating upwardly and downwardly extending peripheral protuberances as gripping means that engage fittingly a portion around the regulator opening means at the opposed sides of the opening respectively.

In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and a pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) which has a pressure responsive diaphragm adapted to be disposed at the bottom of the receptacle formed on the cover(2) of the cooker and further it is characterized in the non-metallic deformable microwave permeable diaphragm type pressure regulator means, with or without a hood(10). The said diaphragm(9) shall have a slit(11) made thereon and the diaphragm(9) responds when encountering a pressure increase within the container(l) to change the slit(11). into an open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker enclosure. The said diaphragm(9) further is characterized in that it is generally a flat disc shaped pressure responsive member(12), adapted to the disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means (5a, 5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker. The said disc portion shall include an outer cooperating upwardly and downwardly extending peripheral protuberances as gripping means that engages fittingly a portion around the regulator opening means at the opposed sides of the opening respectively.
A pressure regulator means according to the present invention shall have the gripping means which is symmetrical at its top end and bottom end to fittingly engage a portion around the regulator opening means thereby enabling the fitment of diaphragm valve straight up or upside down.
Figure 8, 9, 10, and 11 shows the visual pressure indicator capable of regulating pressure acting as over pressure relief device. The material of the relief device can be silicone rubber, fiuoro elastomer, or any other elastomer, which can stand a continuous working temperature of 125° C and which is compatible with microwave energy without deterioration of properties. This device indicates visually in case there is pressure in the chamber. It also relieves excess pressure whenever the inside pressure exceeds the designed operating pressure of the relief device.
According to the present invention, another pressure regulator safety device made out of Silicone rubber performs two functions.

1) Firstly, it works as a visual pressure indicator, indicating the pressure inside cooker. This would indicate when the Cooker is having pressure inside. The indication is by pop up of the central portion of the device.
2) Secondly, it acts as a safety device which releases the pressure, in case the Pressure regulator fails to operate for various reasons and also when there is an excess pressure ie. more than the operating pressure, well below the design & Test pressure.
Normally this pressure is around 0.5 Kgs / sqcm.
Thus it is definitely a unique dual usage device.
Further in this present invention, this elastomeric secondary safety device is designed with a diaphragm having a slit, disposed on the cover(2), which performs three different functions of being an indicator cum pressure regulator cum blow off safety device. This device has a special feature, in that, the device is designed symmetrically, so that it can be disposed in any way on the lid, which means the user will not have any confusion on which portion of the device should be on the top or otherwise.
As per the invention, this elastomeric secondary safety device designed with a diaphragm having a slit will rises up above the surface of the lid to indicate the presence of such internal pressure, whenever the pressure inside the cooker exceeds ambient pressure. Likewise during cooling after cooking the device remains in the raised position till the internal pressure falls to Non - Hazardous levels.
As per the invention, this elastomeric secondary safety device designed with a diaphragm having a slit will open to release excess pressure above the designed opening pressure of this device during cooking operation, if the primary pressure regulator malfunctions and the internal pressure increases beyond the normal maximum operation pressure.

As per the invention, this elastomeric secondary safety device designed with a diaphragm having a slit will be ejected completely out of the mounting hole releasing all internal pressure in the cooker to ambient pressure during the cooking operation, if there is a malfunctioning and the internal pressure continues to increase beyond the maximum designed operating pressure of this device.
According to the present invention, this visual pressure indicator is an elastomeric secondary safety device designed with a diaphragm having slit, which has four different functions which described as follows:
1. Whenever the pressure inside the cooker exceeds ambient pressure , the device rises up above the surface of the lid to indicate the presence of such internal pressure. Likewise during cooling after cooking the device remains in the raised position till the internal pressure falls to Non - Hazardous levels.
2. During cooking operation, if the primary pressure regulator malfunctions and the internal pressure increases beyond the normal maximum operation pressure, the slit in the diaphragm of the secondary device opens to release excess pressure above the designed opening pressure of this device.
3. During cooking operation as said in step 2 above, if there is a malfunction and the internal pressure continues to increase beyond the maximum designed operating pressure of this device, the whole device is ejected completely out of the mounting hole releasing all internal pressure in the cooker to ambient pressure.
4. The device is designed symmetrically so that it can be mounted in any way on the lid.
An indicator valve consisting of a non-metallic non deformable core(14) projecting from the bottom of an elastically deformable casing(15) and surrounded by the casing, having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the casing fixed to the cover(2) of the cooker, substantially disposed fully underneath the cover(2), with the free end of the core(14) matching the surface of the cover(2). The regulator is such that the casing(15) is deformed to compress gradually under increasing pressure the casing(15) towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby ejecting the free end of the core(14) for projection visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of pressure applied on the casing(15).

In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and a pressure indicator means(13a) which has a pressure responsive casing(15) characterized in the indicator means consisting of a non-metallic non-deformable core(14) projecting from the bottom of an elastically deformable casing and surrounded by the casing(15), having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the casing fixed to the cover(2) of the cooker, substantially disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means (5a'), generally underneath the cover(2), with the free end of the core(14) flush with the surface of the cover(2), characterized in the indicator means(13b) which is such that the casing(15) is deformed under increasing pressure to compress gradually the casing(15) towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby ejecting the free end of the core(14) for visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the casing(15), disposed within the closed cooker enclosure.
In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and an integral pressure regulator valve cum indicator means(19a) which is a pressure responsive type characterized in the integral indicator means cum regulator valve consisting of a non-metallic non-deformable core(14) projecting from the bottom of an elastically deformable casing and surrounded by the casing(15), having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the casing fixed to the cover(2) of the cooker, substantially disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means (5a'), fully underneath the cover(2), with the free end of the core(14) flush with the surface of the cover(2), characterized in the indicator means cum regulator valve which is such that the casing(15) is deformed under increasing pressure to compress gradually the casing(15) towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby ejecting the free end of the core(14) for visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the casing(15), and the core(14) adapted further to have a slit(20) formed therein at its distal tip in closed configuration, such that the slit(20) changing to open conflguration under the effect of pressure applied on the

casing(15), disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, thereby forming a path for fluid from interior to exterior of the cooker.
Figure 11 shows the H- shaped design of elastomeric visual pressure indicator cum pressure regulator device wherein this device will be blown out from the hole provided in the lid on to which the device has been disposed and this function will happen when the pressure inside the cooker reaches to 0.7Kg/sq.cm and when the pressure regulator valve fails to open out the pressure when it pressure reaches to its threshold pressure.
In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and also a pressure indicator means(13b) which has a pressure responsive casing consisting of a non-metallic deformable 'H' shaped body(16) formed with a flat central circular diaphragm(17) in the tubular cylinder body in the mid portion of the body having operating threshold. This pressure indicator means shall be of pressure regulator type comprising of the body with two extreme upper and bottom circular edge type flanges(18) forming outwardly extending lip, which protruding edge sits on the hole of the regulator opening means (5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker and substantial portion hanging freely underneath the cover(2). Further the indicator means(13b) is characterized in such that tubular cylindrical moves upward under increasing pressure to lift the upper portion of the body gradually towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby pushing sealingly the central flat circular diaphragm(17) up and the bottom flange(18) against the underside of the cover(2) such that the upper portion of the body is visibile above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the body disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, when operating at first threshold.
In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and also an integral pressure regulator valve cum

indicator means(19b) which is a pressure responsive type consisting of non-metallic deformable 'H' shaped body(16) formed with a flat central circular diaphragm(17) in the tubular cylinder body in the mid portion of the body having operating threshold. This pressure regulator being of the type comprising of the body with two extreme upper and bottom circular edges type flanges(18) forming outwardly extending lip, which protruding edge sits on the hole of the regulator opening means (5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker, substantial portion hanging freely underneath the cover(2). The said indicator means is characterized in such that tubular cylindrical moves upward under increasing pressure to lift the upper portion of the body gradually towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby pushing sealingly the central flat circular diaphragm(17) up and the bottom flange(18) against the underside of the cover(2) such that the upper portion of the body is visibile above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the body disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, when operating at first threshold. The said central flat circular diaphragm(17) is adapted further to have a slit(21) formed in the centre of the diaphragm in closed configuration, such that the slit(21) changing to open configuration under the effect of pressure applied on the casing disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, thereby forming a path for fluid from interior to exterior of the cooker; when operating at first threshold.
In accordance with the figure 16 the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) and a pressure indicator means(13c) which is a pressure responsive type consisting of a non-metallic non-deformable core(24) extending between a bottom elastically deformable circular disc (25) and top elastically non-deformable circular disc (26) having operating thresholds. The regulator being of the type comprising of the core(24) extending through the cover(2) of the cooker, such that bottom circular disc (25) and core (24) disposed substantially in the hole of regulator opening means(5a') underneath the cover(2), and top circular disc (26) flush flat on the surface of the cover(2). The said indicator means(13c) is characterized in such that the bottom circular disc (25) is pushed towards the cover(2) under increasing pressure to lift gradually the core (24) alongwith top circular disc (26) for visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under

the effect of the pressure applied on the bottom circular disc (25), disposed within the closed cooker enclosure.
Figure 12 and 13 illustrates the gasket offset device which works in conjunction with the locking lugs(4) of the container(l) and thereby prevents any hazardous building up of pressure inside in the event of improper closing of the cooker.
According to the present invention, this gasket offset device is also a secondary safety device which works if the lid is not closed properly.
As per the invention this safety Gasket Offset device as a pressure regulator means, is made out of Plastic and Silicone which pushes in the gasket(3) and does not allow pressure to build up inside the container(l), if the cover(2) is not fitted or closed properly. This device is called the gasket offset device. As the name implies the gasket is offset, thereby pressure does not build up.
The container(l) of the pressure cooker also has a unique feature wherein a separator or basket can be used. This unique feature allows two different mediums to be cooked with out a mix-up.
In accordance with the present invention, a microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top shall comprise of a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l) with a pressure regulator means; wherein the said container(l) have locking lugs(4) along the rim and the said cover(2) also have matching locking lugs(4) along the rim cooperating with the lugs of the container(l), the pressure regulator is a cover(2) gasket position responsive gasket offset means for forming a offset projection on one of the said cover locking lugs(4). The said gasket offset means shall comprise of a flexible deformable lug gasket mounted along the wall of locking lug(4) of the cover(2). There is an opening with a pathway provided in the cover(2) between the interior of said cover(2) and interior of locking lug(4). A free sliding push rod is disposed in the said pathway of the said opening of the said cover(2) extending partially into the said interior of said cover(2) and into said interior of said locking lug(4) and supportingly abutted against the said lug

gasket, providing a fluid path between the interior and exterior of the cover(2) and enclosure, and such that adapted to contact the cover gasket(3) as said cover(2) is moved for a sealing engagement with said container(l) to close the cooker, slidably moving completely into the interior of said locking lug(4), thereby closing the fluid path with the cover gasket(3) between the interior and exterior of the enclosure, only when the cover gasket(3) is fully disposed on the cover rim.
Figure 17 illustrates the receptacle opening means(5a, 5b) of the cover as per the invention is further adapted to have perforated material underneath the receptacle opening means(5a, 5b) of the cover ie in accordance with a hole(5a) formed on the cover(2) or an opening annular cylindrical length(5b) of cavity/enclosed receptacle body formed underneath the cover(2). This perforated material which acts as a sieve element to prevent the blockage of the opening means formerly food particles, more specifically cooked dhal, green dhal, potatoes, etc, common in Indian cuisse which forms a thin sheet like material eg potato peels, dhal peels, etc on the hole, and thereby allowing the froth or vapour to be ejected outside during cooking operation.
The actual dimensions of various parts of the present invention described here and depicted in the figures are designed to have appropriate various values to achieve the different intended purpose of the concerned part.
Now the invention has been described to the best of our ability and knowledge and any modification, variation and deviation would come within the purview of this invention.

WE CLAIM:
1. A microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top
comprising some or all of the following
(a) a cover(2) with a gasket(3) adapted for ledge interlock type sealing and lug locking(4) engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking with the container(l);
(b) a receptacle type regulator opening means(5a, 5a', 5b) forming valve openings through the said cover(2);
(c) atleast two deformable diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) with slits(11) formed therein adapted to be disposed on the regulator opening means, responsive to the pressure in the enclosure and having different operating thresholds;
(d) a push rod type gasket offset device means(22) mounted on locking lug(4) and locking handle (4") of cover(2) for releasably maintaining the said container(l) and the cover(2) in said sealing engagement responsive to disposition of gasket(3) on the cover(2) and the movement of the said gasketed cover(2) relative to the said container(l) to a lock position; and
(e) a movable type pressure indicator means(13a, 13b, 13c) adapted to be disposed in the opening formed on the cover(2) so as to rise visibly outward responsive to pressure in the enclosure.
2. A microwave pressure cooker formed with a container(l) open at its top
comprising some or all of the following: -
(a) a cover(2) with a-gasket(3) adapted for ledge interlock type sealing and lug locking engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking with the container;
(b) a receptacle type regulator opening means(5a, 5a', 5b) forming valve openings through the said cover(2);
(c) atleast two deformable diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) with slits(11) formed therein adapted to be disposed on the regulator opening means, responsive to the pressure in the enclosure and having different operating thresholds;

(d) a push rod type gasket offset device means(22) mounted on locking lug(4) and locking handle (4") of cover(2) for releasably maintaining the said container(l) and the cover(2) in said sealing engagement responsive to disposition of gasket (3) on the cover(2) and the movement of the said gasketed cover relative to the said container to a lock position;
(e) a movable type pressure indicator cum regulator means(19a, 19b) adapted to be disposed in the opening formed on the cover(2) so as to rise visibly outward responsive to pressure in the enclosure and further having a slit(20, 21) at its free end adapted to open in response to pressure encountered in the enclosure.
3. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1 and 2,
wherein the diaphragm type regulator means(8a) has a steam deflection hood means(10), the said hood means(IO) mounted over the slit(11) in the regulator valve generally parallel to the regulator valve diaphragm surface and attached to the regulator valve specifically covering the portion around the slit(11), the said hood(IO) comprising atleast one entry opening and one discharge opening for discharging the exhaust pressure from the slit opening when the slit(ll) changes from closed configuration to an open configuration for pressure release from the container, the said hood(10) further includes the continuous sidewall extending downwardly around the perimeter thereby the hood(IO) forming a flat roof at it's upper end, and an open floor at its lower end thereby defining the pathway opening for vapour entry into the hood and the side wall having atleast one opening defining the discharge opening for vapour away from the hood into the exterior.
4. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the receptacle type regulator opening means(5a, 5a' ) is a hole formed on the cover(2) on to which the diaphragm type regulator means(8a, 8b respectively) is removable disposed.
5. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the receptacle type regulator opening means(5b) is an open annular cylindrical length of enclosed receptacle body formed underneath the cover(2) for collecting the

discharge vapour of a predetermined volume and generally formed integral with the cover(2) the said receptacle body has a generally circular opening or a cutout at its bottom adapted for removably disposing the diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a), thereby forming a open cavity arrangement.
6. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the receptacle type regulator opening means(5b) is a covered annular cylindrical length of enclosed receptacle body formed underneath the cover(2) as vapour collecting and discharging volume, the said means(5b) having a receptacle body with a generally circular opening or a cutout at its bottom adapted for removably disposing the diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a) and including a removably affixed receptacle cover(6) adapted for its top end forming a cavity arrangement, the said receptacle cover(6) further adapted with lip(7) or an protrusion at the peripheral top edge so as to form an opening in the said cavity arrangement.
7. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claim 3, wherein the receptacle type regulator opening means(5b) is a covered annular cylindrical length of enclosed receptacle body formed underneath the cover(2) as vapour collecting and discharging volume, the said means(5b) having a receptacle body with a generally circular opening or a cutout at its bottom adapted for removably disposing the diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a) and including a removably affixed receptacle cover(6) adapted for its top end forming a cavity arrangement, the said receptacle cover(6) further adapted with lip(7) or an protrusion at the peripheral top edge so as to form an opening in the said cavity arrangement.
8. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 6 and 7, wherein the receptacle cover(6) is a smooth dome like structure in its inner surface for deflecting the steam ejecting from the open slit{11) of the pressure regulator radially around and within the receptacle cavity arrangement.
9. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claim 6, wherein the cover(6) of the receptacle has atleast one cone type projection in its inner surface for deflecting the steam radially and uniformly into the receptacle cavity arrangement.

'10. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claim 1 to 9, comprising of a container(l), a cover(2), a cover gasket(3), pressure regulators(8a, 8b, 22) and/or pressure indicators(13a, 13b, 13c, 19a, 19b) all constructed of a microwave permeable material.
11. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7, wherein atleast one diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) is mounted in an annular cylindrical length of an cavity/enclosure type receptacle (5b) and hole type receptacle (5a') respectively.
12. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7, wherein both diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) is mounted in a corresponding annular cylindrical length of an cavity/enclosure type receptacles(5b) and hole type receptacle (5a') respectively.
13. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1, 2, 3 and 4, wherein atleast one diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) is mounted in a receptacle of a hole type(5a, 5a' respectively).
14. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1, 2, 3 and 4, wherein both the diaphragm type pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) is mounted in a corresponding receptacle of a hole type(5a, 5a' respectively).
15. A pressure regulator means(8a) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure regulator means(8a) is a pressure responsive diaphragm(9), characterized in the non-metallic deformable microwave permeable diaphragm type pressure regulator means, with or without a hood(IO), the diaphragm(9) adapted to be disposed on the cover(2) of the cooker, the said diaphragm(9) having a slit(ll) made thereon and which diaphragm responds when encountering a pressure increase within the container to change the slit(ll) into an open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker enclosure, the said diaphragm(9) further characterized in that it is

lenerally a flat disc shaped pressure responsive member(12), adapted to be lisposed in the hole of the regulator opening means (5a) formed on the cover of the cooker, the said disc portion including an outer cooperating upwardly and downwardly extending peripheral protuberances as gripping means that engage fittingly a portion around the regulator opening means at the opposed sides of the opening respectively.
16. A pressure regulator means(8b) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure regulator means(8b) is a pressure responsive diaphragm(9), characterized in the non-metallic deformable microwave permeable diaphragm type pressure regulator means, with or without a hood(10), the diaphragm(9) adapted to be disposed on the cover(2) of the cooker, the said diaphragm(9) having a slit(11) made thereon and which diaphragm responds when encountering a pressure increase within the container to change the slit(11) into an open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker enclosure, the said diaphragm(9) further characterized in that it is generally a flat disc shaped pressure responsive member(12), adapted to be disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means (5a') formed on the cover of the cooker, the said disc portion including an outer cooperating upwardly and downwardly extending peripheral protuberances as gripping means that engage fittingly a portion around the regulator opening means at the opposed sides of the opening respectively.
17. A pressure regulator means(8a) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure regulator means(8a) is a pressure responsive diaphragm(9), characterized in the non-metallic deformable microwave permeable diaphragm type pressure regulator means, with or without a hood(IO), the diaphragm(9) adapted to be disposed at the bottom of the receptacle formed on the cover(2) of the cooker, the said diaphragm(9) having a slit(ll) made thereon and which diaphragm(9) responds when encountering a

Dressure increase within the container(l) to change the slit(11) into an open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker enclosure, the said diaphragm(9) further characterized in that it is generally a flat disc shaped pressure responsive member(12), adapted to be disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means(5a) formed on the cover(2) of the cooker, the said disc portion including an outer cooperating upwardly and downwardly extending peripheral protuberances as gripping means that engage fittingly a portion around the regulator opening means at the opposed sides of the opening respectively.
18. A pressure regulator means(8b) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure regulator means(8b) is a pressure responsive diaphragm(9), characterized in the non-metallic deformable microwave permeable diaphragm type pressure regulator means, the diaphragm(9) adapted to be disposed at the bottom of the receptacle formed on the cover(2) of the cooker, the said diaphragm(9) having a slit(11) made thereon and which diaphragm(9) responds when encountering a pressure increase within the container(l) to change the slit(11) into an open configuration responsive to pressure development within the closed cooker enclosure, the said diaphragm(9) further characterized in that it is generally a flat disc shaped pressure responsive member(12), adapted to be disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means(5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker, the said disc portion including an outer cooperating upwardly and downwardly extending peripheral protuberances as gripping means that engage fittingly a portion around the regulator opening means at the opposed sides of the opening respectively.
19. A pressure indicator means(13a) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure indicator means(13a) is a pressure responsive type casing(15) characterized in the indicator means consisting of a non-metallic non-deformable core(14) projecting from the bottom of an eiastically deformable casing(15) and surrounded by the casing(15),

r~ having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the casing fixed to the cover(2) of the cooker, substantially disposed in the hole of the regulator opening means (5a'), generally underneath the cover(2), with the free end of the core(14) flush with the surface of the cover(2), characterized in the indicator means which is such that the casing(15) is deformed under increasing pressure to compress gradually the casing(15) towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby ejecting the free end of the core(14) for visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the casing(15), disposed within the closed cooker enclosure.
20. A pressure indicator means(13b) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure indicator means(13b) is a pressure responsive type body characterized in the indicator means(13b) consisting of a non-metallic deformable 'H' shaped body(16) formed with a flat central circular diaphragm(17) in the tubular cylinder body in the mid portion of the said body having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the body with two extreme upper and bottom circular edge type flanges(18) forming outwardly extending lip, which protruding edge sits on the hole of the pressure regulator opening means(5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker and substantial portion hanging freely underneath the cover(2), characterized in the indicator means(13b) which is such that tubular cylindrical moves upward under increasing pressure to lift gradually the upper portion of the body towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby pushing sealingly the central flat circular diaphragm(17) up and the bottom flange(18) against the underside of the cover such that the upper portion is visible above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the body disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, when operating at first threshold.
21. A pressure indicator means(13c) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure indicator

r means(13c) is a pressure responsive type characterized In the indicator means(13c) consisting of a non-metallic non-deformable core(24) extending between a bottom elastlcally deformable circular disc (25) and top elastlcally non-deformable circular disc (26) having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the core(24) extending through the cover(2) of the cooker, such that bottom circular disc (25) and core (24) disposed substantially In the hole of regulator opening means(5a') underneath the cover(2), and top circular disc (26) flush flat on the surface of the cover(2), characterized in the Indicator means(13c) which is such that the bottom circular disc (25) is pushed towards the cover(2) under increasing pressure to lift gradually the core (24) alongwlth top circular disc (26) for visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the bottom circular disc (25), disposed within the closed cooker enclosure.
22. An integral pressure regulator valve cum indicator means(19a) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a contalner(l) open at Its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the contalner(l), the said pressure regulator valve cum Indicator means(19a) Is a pressure responsive type characterized in the integral indicator means cum regulator valve consisting of a non-metallic non-deformable core(14) projecting from the bottom of an elastlcally deformable casing(15) and surrounded by the caslng(15), having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the casing(15) fixed to the cover(2) of the cooker, substantially disposed in the hole of regulator opening means(5a') fully underneath the cover(2), with the free end of the core(14) flush with the surface of the cover(2), characterized in the indicator means cum regulator valve which is such that the casing(15) Is deformed under increasing pressure to compress gradually the casing(15) towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby ejecting the free end of the core (14) for visibility above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the casing(15), and the core(14) adapted further to have a slit(20) formed therein at its distal tip in closed configuration, such that the slit(20) changing to open configuration under the effect of pressure applied on the casing, disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, thereby forming a path for fluid from interior to exterior of the cooker.

An integral pressure regulator valve cum indicator means(19b) for use in microwave pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said pressure regulator valve cum indicator means(19b) is a pressure responsive type characterized in the integral indicator means cum regulator valve consisting of non-metallic deformable 'H' shaped body(16) formed with a flat central circular diaphragm(17) in the tubular cylinder body in the mid portion of the body having operating thresholds, the regulator being of the type comprising of the body with two extreme upper and bottom circular edge type flanges(18) forming outwardly extending lip, which protruding edge sits on the hole of the pressure regulator opening means(5a') formed on the cover(2) of the cooker, and substantial portion hanging freely underneath the cover(2), characterized in the indicator means which is such that tubular cylindrical moves upward under increasing pressure to lift gradually the upper portion of the body towards the underside of the cover(2), thereby pushing sealingly the central flat circular diaphragm(17) up and the bottom flange(18) against the under side of the cover (2) such that the upper portion is visible above the surface of the cover(2), under the effect of the pressure applied on the body disposed within the closed cooker enclosure when operating at first threshold and the central flat circular diaphragm(17) adapted further to have a slit(21) formed in the centre of the diaphragm in closed configuration, such that the slit(21) changing to open configuration under the effect of pressure applied on the body disposed within the closed cooker enclosure, thereby forming a path for fluid from interior to exterior of the cooker; when operating at first threshold.
24. A pressure regulator means for use in microwaves pressure cooker of microwave permeable material comprising of a container(l) open at its top, a cover(2) adapted for sealing engagement with the said container(l) to form an enclosure for pressure cooking within the container(l), the said container(l) having locking lugs(4) along the rim and the said cover(2) also having matching locking lugs(4) along the rim cooperating with the lugs of the container, the pressure regulator is a cover gasket position responsive gasket offset device means(22) for forming a offset projection on one of the said cover locking lugs(4) cooperating with locking handle(4"), the said gasket offset means(22) comprising of: -

- a flexible deformable lug gasket mounted along the wall of locking lug of the cover.
- an opening in the cover(2) for providing a pathway between the interior of said cover(2) and interior of locking handle (4"); and
- a free sliding push rod(23) disposed in the said pathway of the said opening of the said cover(2) extending partially into the said interior of said cover(2) and into said interior of said locking handle (4") and supportingly abutted against the said lug gasket, providing a fluid path between the interior and exterior of the cover(2) and enclosure, and such that adapted to contact the cover gasket(3) as said cover(2) is moved for a sealing engagement with said container(l) to close the cooker, slidably moving completely into the interior of said locking lug(4), thereby closing the fluid path with the cover gasket(3) between the interior and exterior of the enclosure, only when the cover gasket(3) is fully disposed on the cover rim.

25. A pressure regulator means claimed in claims 1, 2, 11 to 16, 18, 18A and 19 is such that the diaphragm is further adapted to reset the slit into close configuration responsive to pressure decrease within the closed cooker enclosure.
26. A pressure regulator means claimed in claims 1, 2, 11 to 16, 18, 18A and 19 is such that the diaphragm is further adapted to auto reset the slit into close configuration responsive to pressure decrease within the closed cooker enclosure.
27. A pressure regulator means claimed in claim 18A is such that the cylindrical half portion above the central diaphragm(17) is identical to the cylindrical half portion below the central diaphragm(17).
28. A pressure regulator means claimed in claim 18A claimed further adapted to eject out externally away from the cover(2) under increasing pressure at another second operating threshold which pressure is higher than the pressure at first operating threshold.

29. The pressure cooker as claimed in claims 1 and 2 wherein the container is
provided with projecting ribs along the outer surface for facilitating grip.
30. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claim 1 and 2, wherein the cover
gasket is generally V shaped in cross section.
31. A microwave pressure cooker as claimed in claim 1 and 2, wherein the
pressure cooker as a whole is non-metallic and of microwave permeable material.
32. The pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) claimed in claim 1 and 2 is such that all the regulators are elastormeric .
33. The pressure regulator means(8a, 8b) claimed in claim 1 and 2 is such that some of the regulators are elastomeric.
34. The receptacle type regulator opening means(5b) claimed in claim 1 and 2 is elastomeric.
35. The receptacle type regulator opening means (5a, 5a', 5b) as claimed in claim
1 and 2 is such that the receptacle type regulator means (27) further is adapted with
a perforated material, so as to prevent clogging of cooked material.
