CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS AND PRIORITY
[001] The present invention claims priority from Indian patent application numbered IN 202241053322 filed on 18th September, 2022.

TECHNICAL FIELD
[002] The present subject matter described herein, in general, relates to a suspended dust suppression system and more specifically relates to a system and method for suppressing dust suspended in the air in mines.
BACKGROUND
[003] In mines, dust in the air is common which is emitted from open-pit mines, ore processing and metal extraction plants, ore stockpiles, ore transport by heavy earth moving machinery (HEMM) and mine waste deposits. Further, suspended dust in the air reduces visibility for operators of heavy earth moving machinery (HEMM). The dust contains very minute to fine particles which are hazardous and can cause lung disease and other respiratory problems, like asthma, when they are inhaled. Also, the dust gets accumulated on surfaces and inside various machineries in the mines which reduces life of said machineries.
[004] Conventionally, a spray system of stationary type is used in the mines for suppression of the dust. Such spray systems have limitations like limited reach of spray, length of water carrying pipes etc. Also, they require larger space and are not movable hence limited area of mine is covered.
[005] Hence, there is a need to develop a system that is movable to cover entire mining area for suppression of dust.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[006] It is a main object of the present invention to provide a mist system for suppression of suspended dust in the air.
[007] It is another object of the present invention to provide a movable dust suppression system.
[008] It is another object of the present invention to provide a mist system that cover an entire area of mine.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
[009] Accordingly, the present invention relates to a mist system for suppression of dust in the air in mines comprises of a movable water tanker (100), a centrifugal pump (102) configured to suck water from a tank of said movable water tanker (100), a pipe header (108) configured to be mounted above the tank of the movable water tanker (100) on at least one side of the movable water tanker (100), a pneumatic valve (104) configured to supply water to the pipe header (108) upon actuation, a water filter (106) configured to filter water of the movable water tanker (100) before supplying to the pipe header (108) and a series of nozzles (110) configured to be mounted in the pipe header (108) for spraying the water in the form of mist in the mine for suppression of dust. Furthermore, the pipe header (108) along with the series of nozzles (110) are configured to be provided surrounding three sides of the movable water tanker (100). The movable water tanker (100) is configured to cover an entire area of the mine for suppression of dust. The dust present in the air of the mine is configured to be mixed with the mist or water droplets and settle down on ground of the mine due to gravity and weight of the water droplets. The mist system is configured with a pneumatic control switch mounted in a cabin of the movable water tanker (100). The pneumatic valve (104) is configured to be actuated by said pneumatic control switch.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] Before the present system and method are described, it is to be understood that this application is not limited to the particular machine or apparatus, and methodologies described, as there can be multiple possible embodiments that are not expressly illustrated in the present disclosures. It is also to be understood that the terminology used in the description is for the purpose of describing the particular versions or embodiments only, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present application. This summary is provided to introduce aspects related to a mist system for suppression of suspended dust in the air. This summary is not intended to identify essential features of the proposed subject matter nor it is intended for use in determining or limiting the scope of the proposed subject matter.
[0011] The present invention discloses a mist system for suppression of suspended dust in the air.The system comprises a movable water tanker, a centrifugal pump mounted on the water tanker, a water filter for filtering water of the water tanker and a pipe header provided with series of nozzles for spraying fine droplets of water into atmospheric air.The system further comprises a pneumatic switch in a cabin area of water tanker for activation of mist system and a pneumatic valve for supplying water to various components of the system. Said centrifugal pump supplies water from the water tanker to the pipe header wherein the said nozzles of the pipe header sprays fine droplets of water in a form of mist into an atmosphere of the mine to be mixed with the suspended dust particles of the atmosphere. The dust particles get attracted to the mist and settles down on a ground due to weight of the water droplets. Hence, an air pollution in the mines is reduced which ultimately improves health of workers working in the mines. It also improves the visibility in the mines thereby avoiding risk of accidents in the mining area.
