Mobile Communication System, Base Station And User Equipment
Abstract: A communication system is provided that, if a large number of small cells (1302) are installed, is capable of configuring an operation suitable for small cells through simple operation and administration. If a small cell (1302) installed in Step ST1401 judges in Step ST1403 that a coverage macro cell (1301), which includes the small cell (1302) in the coverage of the coverage macro cell (1301), is present as a result of neighbor cell search in Step ST1402, notifies the coverage macro cell (1301) and another neighbor cell of its own capability in Steps ST1404 and 1405. The coverage macro cell (1301) selects a configuration parameter suitable for the capability of the small cell (1302) in Step ST1406 and notifies the small cell (1302) in Step ST1407. The small cell (1302) recognizes an operation mode configured by the coverage macro cell (1301) from the configuration parameter notified from the coverage macro cell (1301), and then, starts operating in the operation mode.

Specification
We Claim:
1. A mobile communication system comprising:
a user equipment; and
a first base station and a second base station configured to perform radio communication with the user equipment,
wherein information indicating that a type of the first base station is a type capable of performing the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the second base station is notified from the first base station to the second base station, and
the first base station is configured to perform the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the second base station.
2. The mobile communication system as claimed in claim 1,
wherein the information indicating that the type of the first base station is the type capable of performing the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the second base station is notified using an interface between base stations.
3. The mobile communication system as claimed in claim 1,
wherein the first base station is configured to perform the radio communication with the user equipment without establishing a control connection.
4. A base station to be used in a mobile communication system comprising a user
equipment and a plurality of base stations configured to perform radio communication with the user equipment,
wherein the base station is configured to notify another base station of information indicating that a type of the base station is a type capable of performing the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the other base station, and
the base station is configured to perform the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the other base station.
5. A base station to be used in a mobile communication system comprising a user
equipment and a plurality of base stations configured to perform radio
communication with the user equipment,
wherein the base station is notified by another base station of information indicating that a type of the other base station is a type capable of performing the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the base station, and
the base station is configured to perform the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the other base station.
6. A user equipment to be used in a mobile communication system comprising a
user equipment and a first base station and a second base station configured to
perform radio communication with the user equipment,
wherein the user equipment is configured to perform the radio communication with the first base station and the second base station, the second base station being notified by the first base station of information indicating that a type of the first base station is a type capable of performing the
radio communication with the user equipment in association with the second base station, the second base station performing the radio communication with the user equipment in association with the first base station.
