Abstract: The invention relates to a real time electronic transaction processing system for enabling a payment transaction between an invoice generation and transaction system of a merchant account and a transaction card of the user who intends to pay through the transaction card. The system integrates seamlessly both Mobile POS (mobile point of sale/service) and Mobile PAY with any existing Point of sale system of the merchants. The system includes a card reader means configured to process a payment transaction from the user through the transaction card, and an internet connectable mobile device operably associated with the said card reader means and the invoice generation and transaction system of the merchant to process and conduct the payment transaction in response to the generated invoice of the merchant, an authorization acknowledgement from the user and on the allowed payment transaction by the authentication and assessment centre of the transaction card.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a system and method for enabling a financial transaction by using a mobile device.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Transaction cards generally includes credit cards, debit cards or automatic teller machine (ATM) cards, smart cards, fuel card and pre-paid cards. The transaction cards having a magnetic stripe which is embedded on any one side of the card. The magnetic stripe includes magnetically stored data which is decoded by a card reader device. The card reader device associated with a point-of-sale (POS) system.
The magnetic stripe of transaction card comes into contact with the card reader device, which senses the magnetically stored information on a transaction card and conveys this sensed information to a host device for further processing. These cards are used in various transactions such as to pay for purchases.
The another type of transaction cards containing an microchip which is embedded with it. The micro chip based smartcard technology overcomes drawbacks available in the magnetic stripe transaction cards. The micro chip embedded transaction cards are authenticated automatically using a personal identification number (PIN). When a user wishes to pay for goods using this system, the card is placed into a "PIN pad" terminal or a modified swipe-card reader, which accesses the chip on the card. Once the card has been verified as authentic, the user enters a PIN, which is submitted to the chip on the transaction card/smartcard; if the both entered PIN and stored PIN are match, the chip informs the terminal the PIN was correct, otherwise it informs, the entered PIN was incorrect.
Presently, there are different types of magnetic stripe readers/swipers and smart card readers has been used on the market. Although magnetic stripe cards and smart cards are universally used by merchants. The card reader device mostly used in point of sale system, there is no way to move the card reader device wherever we want, that means we can not take this device like mobile devices.
To overcome all the drawbacks in the prior art, the present invention provides a mobile based payment transaction system for enabling the payment transaction in a secured gateway. The system design for conducting payment transactions on a plurality of mobile device platforms that provides enough security for a user of a payment transaction. Embodiments disclosed in the present invention address the drawbacks of the prior arts individually and collectively.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to provide a mobile based transaction system for enabling the payment transaction.
The another object of the invention is to provide a integrated Mobile POS (mobile point of sale/service) and Mobile PAY solution that gets integrated seamlessly with any existing Point of sale system of the merchants for providing secured mobile payment transaction gateway service The another object of the present invention is to provide a mobile payment gateway service that enables merchants to accept credit and debit card payment any time, any where.
The another object of the present invention is to provide a method for enabling the transaction in secured gateway.
The another object of the invention is to provide a card reader device with or without printer that can be attached through audio Jack or through Bluetooth connectivity to any mobile device for accepting card transactions
The another object of the invention is to provide a method to enable the transaction details dynamically, between the merchant and user.
The another object of the invention is to provide a real time invoice editing option to edit the invoice details instantly at the point of sale, as per the user request.
The another object of the invention is to allow the user /merchant to retrieve the previous transaction details at anytime.
The another object of the invention is to enable the location information and payment transaction details to main merchant of sub-merchants.
The further object of the invention is to provide an authorization means to identify the true card holder.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a real time electronic processing system for enabling a financial transaction through a mobile device. The present invention integrates seamlessly both Mobile POS (mobile point of sale/service) and Mobile PAY with any existing Point of sale system of the merchants. The system comprises of a transaction card reader means, connecting means and mobile device. The transaction card reader means reads magnetically/digitally stored data of magnetic stripe/microchip of a transaction card. The connecting means connects the card reader means with the mobile device. The mobile device is either exclusively designed mobile payment transaction application loaded device or typical mobile devices like a smart phone, feature Phones, Android and BlackBerry, iphone etc. The mobile payment transaction application is loaded in the mobile device for conducting the payment transaction in a secured manner. To conduct the payment transaction, the merchant or who uses the mobile payment transaction system that person needs to register prior to conduct transaction. The card upon swiped in the reading means, the mobile device will capture the card details and check the invoice value and other details from merchant POS back-end system and also gets the authentication and authorization from bank server. After approval the user has to make a digital signature or any authorization steps through mobile device to confirm transaction. The system enables the user to verify the transaction amount payable is equal to the merchant invoice. The system allows the user to modify, cancel or accept the generated invoice. The system also enables the merchant to view the accepted/modified/canceled invoice details of the user any time from their back end database. Subsequently the digital transaction details will be sent to merchant back end transaction system, user and bank server; where they can get the status updates by push notifications, E-mail, and SMS alerts. The user and merchant of the transaction can notice and print the transaction details at any time.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig 1 illustrates the data flow diagram of the a real time electronic processing system.
Fig 2a illustrates the flash screen, which is a first screen that will be displayed after user opens the mobile application icon on the device. This screen will stay for few moments before moving on to the main screen. The purpose of the splash screen is to keep the user informed, that an action is taking place in
response to the user tap on the application icon.
The splash screen acts as a feedback response to the user's action and keeps the user busy as the application takes 1 to 3 seconds to launch.
Fig 2b illustrates the introduction screen, which provides the demonstration regarding the real time electronic processing.
Fig 2c illustrates the login screen. The Screen will allow users to enter their user ID and Password and the same gets authenticated at Backend system as well as using Mobile Device Management Rules and Authentication methods.
Fig 2d illustrates the home screen/dashboard screen will allow the user to select his/her first preference in the application. The user can navigate to MPOS, MPAY, Settings and Support sections.
Fig 2e illustrates the MPOS home screen, the Mobile POS section allows users to perform Modify invoices, Cancel Invoices and Validate invoices. Mobile POS section is integrated with MPAY section and enables users to access it after successful authentication on MPOS activity. MPOS section is seamlessly gets integrated with Merchants existing POS system that enables instant Status updates, Next day settlement and Return stock status report.
Fig 2f illustrates the invoice creating screen. This section enables users to create invoices by adding items from the item master and selecting quantity and adding tax related details Fig 2g and 2h illustrates the add item- categories screen. This section enables users to add items to the categories, sub categories in the products master.

MPAY gets connected to a card reader through secured Bluetooth or Audio Jack connection and transmits the card Track 1 and Track 2 data in encrypted format to application. MPAY Seamlessly integrated with banks back end server and securely transmits the card DATA through https protocol for Authentication and approval of each transaction. MPAY section allows users to see transaction history and enables them to perform Batch settlement. (Optional - Settings)

Fig 2y illustrates the MPAY support screen. The present invention may use MDM Remote support and dedicated 24/7 call centre. We will ensure Merchant activation happens along with Training for the 1st time with Dedicated Field Force in all locations. We will have MDM remote monitoring and device management with full control over all MPOS devices in the field. Fig 3 illustrates the Encryption and Decryption Flow diagram. The card reader means with the application paring happens with 2 levels Security locking with each other:
1. Bluetooth Name and
2. MAC ID with IMEI ID of the Phone also find Fig 3 encryption details.
Fig 4 illustrates the Integrated MPOS and MPAY Platform Architecture Diagram of the present invention. (Proprietary platform that meets the FUTURE requirements of E Merchants in E-Com Space).
This diagram explains the Integrated Mobile POS and Mobile PAY system along with web based frame work that enables merchants to perform acceptance of card payments, conduct personalized loyalty and reward programs, send Digital coupons and offers, maintain product catalog, ensure encryption, authentication and send notifications for promotions and offers.
This Integrated Mobile POS and Mobile PAY system enables merchants to manage their mobile application through web based or cloud based frame work that has Payment Module, Logistics Module, Ecommerce Module, Web services interface, Security Manager, Promotion Message manager, Store organiser, Sync Manager, Ul Controllers, Version Manager and Device Manager.

The present invention's Mobile Application Card reader means is "PCI - PTS Complaint" and PCI - DSS Certified last mile connectivity and Card Present Scenario eliminates the need for OTP and 3D Pin. The present invention MPOS & MPAY is the only Mobile Payment Solution which gets seamlessly integrated with Merchant's Existing POS Back-end Database to Retrieve, Validate, Create/Modify Invoice Details and enables Instant Activation of the service for each transaction and simultaneously gets connected with Bank's Server to Authenticate & Authorize each transaction.
Fig 5 illustrates the Change Management Work Flow. The Change management Workflow is one of the key features required for Mobile application maintenance and support management. Whenever the Merchant modifies or changes the flow or features which mandates mobile application has to be redeployed and the present invention equipped to support this enforcement through the MDM (Cloud) sequence shown in the Fig 5.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a real time electronic processing system and method for enabling financial transaction through a mobile device. The mobile device can be a smart phone, feature Phones, Android and BlackBerry, iphone etc. The system integrates seamlessly both the Mobile POS and the Mobile PAY with any existing POS system of Merchants for providing secured payment transaction gateway service. Mobile point of sale or service (mPOS) is suitable for any company with mobile work force looking to accept payment at any time and anywhere. mPOS is an application which influences mobile technology integrated with transaction cards, Printer and GSM/GPRS connectivity for Communication over a wireless environment. This application requires simple infrastructure set up and gives you the advantage of mobile computing. Application loaded on the mobile device takes care of the billing activities and the payments can be processed immediately. The mPay is the service that brings into play all of Mobile Tech's products to offer merchants and bank an adapted service that meets all the user's specific needs. The mPay service can easily and cost effectively be adapted to meet merchants' requirements without compromising the financial institutions security or integrity.

The mobile payment transaction system comprises of transaction device which includes,

TRANSACTION CARD READER MEANS:
Typically card reader size is reduced into miniaturized size card reader either it can be connected with the any kind of mobile device or unique mobile device. The transaction card means having a read head with slot arrangement for swiping a magnetic stripe of a transaction card, which is configured to read encoded data in a magnetic strip of the transaction card or micro chip in a single swipe and provide a signal that corresponds to the data read to the mobile device.
The card reader means may be a magnetic type reader and chip type transaction card reader . The card reader means may connect to a mobile device through a wireless communication or through wired communication. The card reader means may includes a printer to print a transaction confirmation slip to the user to enable manual authorization process.
CONNECTING MEANS:
The connecting means for connecting the card reader means with the mobile device. The connecting means adapted to be inserted into an inserting means of the mobile device for providing the signal to the mobile device. The usage of connecting means to perform operation may differ. These differences may depend upon type and function of mobile device and card reader means.
The system can access the various kinds of connecting means, the connecting means may be a physical or wireless communication. The wireless connection may be a blue tooth or Wi-Fi or any kind of wireless communication etc.. The card reader may be mounted on the audio jack and or USB port also.
THE MOBILE DEVICE:
The mobile device decodes the incoming signal from the card reader means. The mobile device includes a control means which conducts the transaction process, wherein control means inbuilt in the mobile device which directs the transaction process. The control means may be a mobile application software which is specially designed and loaded in the mobile device for conducting the payment transaction in secured gateway.
The mobile device capture the user details of the transaction card by using card reader means during swiping action. The card reader means can read stored data of both magnetic stripe type transaction card or chip card type transaction card. After that the control means check the invoice value and other details from merchant POS back-end system and also gets the authentication and authorization from bank server. After approval the user has to make a digital signature or any authorization steps through mobile device to confirm transaction.
If the user authorize the payment transaction, then only the system allows the transaction and sends the payment transferred details to both merchant and user. The transaction details are stored in the service providers back end or merchant's back end system , whenever the user and merchant wants to notice the transaction details, they can easily retrieve the transaction details.
The method of payment transaction eliminates the need for expensive card reader means and software. The method enables any small merchant can use this simple way of transaction without any expensive software and card reader means.
The method involves the steps of:
1. Integrating both Mobile POS and Mobile PAY with ANY existing POS system of Merchants,
2. loading the mobile payment transaction application in the mobile device,
3. engaging the card reader means with mobile device through connecting means,
4. allowing the merchant to enter the mobile payment transaction service with their details.
5. allowing the user to swipe the transaction card in the card reader means to capture the card details,
6. allowing the user to enter invoice details to verify the entered invoice details with the generated invoice value of the back end database,
allowing the user to modify or cancel or accept the generated jnvoice by authorization by making digital signature or using any other authorization means, after that the system to send the digital transaction slip or enable print out of transaction slip through bluetooth enabled printer.
7. allowing the user or merchant to retrieve the payment transaction details by using invoice number, One of the preferred embodiment of the invention discloses a real time electronic processing system for enabling a payment transaction between a invoice generation system and transaction system of a merchant account, and a transaction card of the user. The system supports to pay through the transaction card for a good or a service provided by the merchant. The system enables the payment transaction from the user's transaction card to the merchant account. The real time electronic processing system comprises of a card reader means configured to process a payment transaction from the user through the transaction card. The transaction card contains user information. A payment transaction process comprises of routing the user information enunciated during an access attempt by the user to an authentication and assessment centre of the transaction card for authentication, assessment and decision-making of either allowing or refusing the payment transaction based on the user's bank-account, credit card account or other credit balance relevant to the transaction. The system also includes an internet connectable mobile device which is operably associated with the card reader means, and the invoice generation / transaction system of the merchant. The system further processes and conducts the payment transaction in response to (a) generated invoice of the merchant, (b)an authorization acknowledgement from the user and (c)on the allowed payment transaction by the authentication and assessment centre of the transaction card. The payment transaction process also comprises of routing the invoice details including the amount payable to an authentication and assessment centre of the merchant account for authentication, assessment and decision making centre of the merchant account for authentication, assessment and decision of the payment amount based on the validated invoice of the merchant and thereafter conducting the transfer instantaneously for an exact amount matching the validated invoice into the credit of the merchant account through the transaction card of the user. The novelty of the electronic payment transaction system with the mobile device, as disclosed and discussed herein that the mobile devices adapted to enable the user to verify the transaction amount payable is definitely only equal to the merchant invoice and only thereafter providing authorization acknowledgement of the user for processing of the payment transaction, The system, further conducts transfer into the credit of the merchant account through the transaction card of the user. The transaction card may of any known type, it may be a magnetic strip card, a chip card or a smart card. The card reader means used in this system may be a magnetic card reader, chip card reader or a smart card reader. The card reader may be first associated with a printing means for generating a receipt memorializing the transaction. The card reader means may be mounted on any of the parts of the mobile device or may be connected through the wireless communication.
One of the preferred embodiment of the invention disclose about enabling mobile payment transaction among plurality of Sub-merchant. The main merchant or market agency or DTH operator having plurality of sub-merchant. The system provides a main login page for main dealer and it provides each unique code for each sub merchants or sub dealers. If anybody collects payment they need to enter with their unique user id and pass word. The user details automatically updated in the main login page with location information and payment information, the main dealer easily analyze the transaction details of the sub dealers or sub-merchant.
In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the method involves the steps of, the transaction card is swiped through the slot of the card reader means. The card reader means reads the stored data in the magnetic stripe or in the chip and generates signal to the mobile device via the connecting means. Thereafter payment details is entered by the merchant either manually or using bar code reader, If the user has to transfer the payment for already generated invoice of the merchant, , then the generated invoice detail is validated by the back end system of the merchant only thereafter the user reads to accept the invoice. Then the control means or application software of the mobile device conducts the transaction process in a pre-determined manner. Further that allows the system to authorize a transaction by the user. The user either authorizes or denies the transaction. If the user authorize the transaction, then only the debt can be collected from the user account by use of payment transaction gateway which integrates both Mpos and mPAY with existing any POS. The system sends the transaction details to both user and merchant for each transaction. Whenever the user or merchant pay/receive the payment transaction, an authorization message generated in safe mode. The authorization messages are sent via email or short message services (SMS) or a prerecorded voice message. Additionally, the storage device of the system also stores sets of user records based on their transaction, in which the stored information specific to each merchant/user. The user or merchant can see the stored database at any time.
The another embodiment of the invention, the system includes a method of identification and authentication of a user. In this method mobile payment transaction process is conducted through a transaction service provider and a transaction terminal both are communication via a computer network. The mobile device having a control means which includes a transceiver means for transmitting information to service provider or back end bank database and receiving information from the transaction terminal. If the user intend to authorize the payment transaction but the system must recognize the user is true a card holder or else. The merchant needs to enter their login with their unique user ID and password then the system allows the merchant to access the payment from user . The card upon swiped in the reading means, the mobile device will capture the card details and check the invoice value and other details from merchant POS back-end system and also gets the authentication and authorization from bank server. After approval the user has to make authorization steps through mobile device to confirm transaction, authentication means may be a camera, voice reorganization means or digital signature or finger print reorganization means. The received data such as image, or recorded voice or signature or finger print of card holder. The received date will compare with back end data base of the respect bank then the system confirm the true user. If any duplicate/un authorized person try to make the card payment transaction, the system automatically deny the payment transaction and immediately inform to respect true card holder or card holder bank or cancel the further usage of card payment transaction or send with location information of the last transaction. The merchant can then take a print of invoice as per their need by using bluetooth enabled printer which may be attached with the card reader means. Subsequently the digital transaction slip will be sent to merchant back end, transaction system, user and bank server; where they can get the status updates by push notifications, E-mail, and SMS alerts. The user and merchant of the transaction can notice and print the transaction details at any time.
Advantage of the system:
1. By using the mobile payment transaction system, the merchants can receive the payments through transaction cards any where, any time at the point of sale or at door steps. For example, the system easily enables door step utility payment transaction like DTH operators, cable operators, insurance companies, courier companies, Electricity companies, Property consultants, ecommerce door step delivery, International courier pick up.
2. The system also enables the individual self employed professionals for payment transaction from, any individual person can use the MPOS device for receiving the payment from another one.
3. The system eliminates the need of expensive card reader devices and software applications.
4. The system receives the payment transaction immediately, If the merchant has an account anywhere in India..
Although the invention has been described above with reference to the disclosed embodiments, those skilled in the art will readily appreciate that the specific experiments detailed are only illustrative of the invention. It should be understood that various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is limited only by the following claims.
WE CLAIM:
1. A real time electronic transaction processing system for enabling a payment transaction between an invoice generation and transaction system of a merchant account and a transaction card of the user who intends to pay through the transaction card for a good or a service provided by the merchant and which involves payment from the user's transaction card, the said system comprising of:
a. a card reader means configured to process a payment transaction from the user through the transaction card, the said transaction card containing user information, and wherein the said process comprising routing the user information enunciated during an access attempt by the user to an authentication and assessment centre of the transaction card for authentication, assessment and decision-making of either allowing or refusing the said payment transaction based on the user's bank-account, credit card account or other credit balance relevant to the said transaction, and
b. an internet connectable mobile device operably associated with the said card reader means and the invoice generation and transaction system of the merchant to process and conduct the payment transaction in response to the generated invoice of the merchant, an authorization acknowledgement from the user and on the allowed payment transaction by the authentication and assessment centre of the transaption card,
wherein the payment transaction process comprising routing the invoice details including the amount payable to an authentication and assessment centre of the merchant account for authentication, assessment and decision making of the payment amount based on the validated invoice of the merchant and thereafter conducting the transfer for an exact amount matching the validated invoice into the credit of the merchant account through the transaction card of the user, characterized in the mobile device adapted in enabling the user to verify the transaction amount payable is equal to the merchant invoice and thereafter providingauthorization acknowledgement of the user for processing of the payment transaction and further conducting transfer into the credit of the merchant account through the transaction card of the user.
2. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the transaction card is a magnetic strip card, a chip card or a smart card.
3. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the card reader means is a magnetic card reader, a chip card reader or a smart card reader.
4. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the card reader may be associated with a printing means for generating a receipt memorializing the transaction.
5. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the card reader is enabled to communicate wireless with the mobile device.
6. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the card reader is blue tooth enabled to communicate with the mobile device.
7. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the card reader is mounted on the mobile device.
8. The real time electronic transaction processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the card reader may be operably connected to the mobile device via Audio Jack USB port.
