FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to fabrication of gates and in particular, but not exclusively to modularized steel gates.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Conventionally, steel gates have always been seen in welded form. Most of the components are welded one by one, and then mounted over a wall or column. But in case any component gets rusted or damaged or needed to be replaced, then that component is forcibly separated and the alternative is welded. This brings in a lot of inconvenience and much time is consumed. Further the welding has to be done on the site only because the gate cannot be carried to the welding shop and the welding personnel needed to be called on site. This will further increase the lead time.
There is therefore a need for designing steel gates employing modularity and allowing on-site assembly processes in steel tubes and sections.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the invention to overcome the aforementioned and other drawbacks of conventional steel gates.
Another primary object of the present invention is to design a steel gate which employs modularity and on-site assembly processes in steel tubes and sections.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide high quality, aesthetic and differentiated gate designs to consumers as per emerging architectural trends.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In one non-limiting embodiment of the present disclosure, a modular gate is disclosed. In an embodiment, the modular gate includes a hinge arrangement. Further, the hinge arrangement is configured to fit over wall or column. Furthermore, the hinge arrangement is a fabricated unit made of hinge body, a hinge pin and a bush bearing with the hinge body being fabricated in a section capped at both ends with++ one side having flanges for mounting on the column. In
an embodiment, the modular gate comprises a techno-frame and a deco-frame. In an embodiment, the deco-frame is associated to the hinge arrangement by means of the techno-frame with said techno-frame being configured to provide strength to the modular gate. In an embodiment, the deco-frame and the techno-frame is coupled together by means of a plurality of nuts and bolts with the deco-frame having mounting frame welded at inner periphery of the deco-frame from at least two sides. Further, the mounting frame having holes to receive nuts and bolts to mount decorative elements with the decorative elements being made up of tubular structures fixed together by means of nuts and bolts.
The above and additional advantages of the present invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from a reading of the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The above brief description, as well as further objects, features and advantages, of the present invention can be fully appreciated by reference to the following detailed description. These features of the present invention will become more apparent upon reference to the drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 Illustrates a modular steel gate in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure.
Figure 2 Illustrates an exploded view of the modular steel gate in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Although the disclosure hereof is detailed and exact to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, the physical embodiments herein disclosed merely exemplify the invention which may be embodied in other specific structure. While the preferred embodiment has been described, the details may be changed without departing from the invention, which is defined by the claims.
It will be apparent, however, to one of ordinary skill in the art that the present invention may be practiced without specific details of the well known components and techniques. In other instances, well known components have not been described in detail but rather in a block diagram in order to avoid unnecessarily obscuring the present invention. Further specific numeric references should not be interpreted as a literal sequential order. Thus, the specific details set forth are merely exemplary. The specific details may be varied from and still be contemplated to be within the scope of the present invention. The features discussed in an embodiment may be implemented in another embodiment.
Moreover, occasional references to the conventional systems are made in order to better distinguish the present inventive disclosure discussed later in greater detail. Few of the details pertaining to the modular gates are well-known in the art, and therefore, are described herein only in the detail required to fully disclose the present invention. The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to embodiments as shown in the drawings.
Turning now to figures, shown in FIG. 1 & 2 is a modular gate 100. The modular gate 100 is being made up of steel. The modular gate 100 primarily comprises of a hinge arrangement 104, a techno-frame 108 and a deco-frame 112.
The hinge arrangement 104 is fitted over wall or column 116. The deco-frame 112 is being associated to the hinge arrangement 104 by means of the said techno-frame 108. The hinge arrangement 104 is a fabricated unit made of hinge body, hinge pin and a bush bearing.
In accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure, the hinge body is fabricated in 100mm square section capped at both ends with one side having flanges for mounting on the column 116. The Hinge pin is fit into a bush bearing in the hinge component on one end while the other end is press fitted and secured with a grub screw into the techno frame. The exploded view of the hinge arrangement 104 is being shown in FIG. 2.
The said techno-frame 108 is configured to provide strength to the said modular gate 100. The techno-frame 108 is a fabricated unit made of tube section with a fabricated boss on top side to fit the hinge pin. The side of the techno frame 108 which couples with the deco frame 112 has plurality of bosses welded to the frame tube. This serves to couple the techno frame with the deco frame. This arrangement gives an access of easy removal and assembling option in case any of the components gets rusted and not fit for use.
The deco-frame 112 further comprises a mounting frame 120 welded at inner periphery of the deco-frame 112. The welding is done from at least two sides of the deco frame 112 and the mounting frame 120. In accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure the deco-frame 112 can be directly fitted over the wall or column and the techno-frame 108 may not be employed.
The mounting frame 120 comprises plurality of holes to fix nuts and bolts arrangement to mount decorative elements 124. Further, the decorative elements 124 is made up of tubular structures and fixed together by means of nuts and bolts. Exploded view of the decorative elements 124 is shown in Fig. 2.
Further, the modular gate 100 can be employed in singularly or may be employed with its replica depending upon the wideness of the space where gate needs to be engaged. Other components such as locks and rollers beneath the gate can also be implemented as per the requirements.
Advantages:
Such a system of modular elements with inbuilt joineries enabled by mass production of different gate elements can then be assembled on site. Producing these modular elements in bulk, facilitates improved finishing like powder coating and liquid spray painting along with shorter order-to-delivery lead time, which the local fabricator is unable to offer. Complex shapes and imported decorative materials can be offered to the customer in a cost effective way by virtue of bulk
production. Further to this, modularity also enables replaceability of parts for aesthetic or technical upgrades.
The foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Furthermore, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described. While the preferred embodiment has been described, the details may be changed without departing from the invention, which is defined by the claims.
