Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a core (16) and a tie shaft (86). The tie shaft (86) is rotatable about an axial direction (A) of the gas turbine engine by the core (16) of the gas turbine engine. The gas turbine engine additionally includes a modular fan (38) having a plurality of fan blades (40) and a frame (102). The plurality fan blades (40) are attached to the frame (102) and the frame (102) is slidably received on the tie shaft (86) of the gas turbine engine. The modular fan (38) additionally includes an attachment member (114) removably attaching the frame (102) to the tie shaft (86) of the gas turbine engine to removably install the modular fan (38) in the gas turbine engine.
